Abstract: An automated banking machine which dispenses cash and includes a mechanism for accepting deposited items. Deposited items may be provided to the machine in envelopes which are first passed to a user from an envelope storage area (132) in the machine through a transport (124) and which are presented to the user through an opening (244). A user may thereafter include deposit items in the dispensed envelope. The deposited items are passed through the opening (244) and are deposited in a deposit-holding container (128). The deposited items may be marked by an inkjet printer with indicia corresponding to the transaction or properties of the deposited item. The operation of the printer is caused by a controller (56) which controls the operation responsive to one or more environmental parameters.

  • Patent number: 7410103
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose an efficient and inexpensive method for detecting tampered products utilizing current off the shelf components. Features of some embodiments provide for a RFID labeling system that uses multiple RFID components attached to a single product unit being embedded in the product's label and one or more tamper labels. Such RFID labels usually comprise an adhesive label containing an RFID component, a destructible conducting path that acts as an antenna and a unique encryption. The RFID labels transmit the encryption when irradiated by an RF scanner. A complete inventory of multiple associated encryptions reported during an RFID scan of a product package provide positive indication that product has not been tampered with. A missing encryption indicates a faulty product seal or an event of tampering.

  • Patent number: 7410104
Abstract: A radiant heating system includes an air-to-fluid heat exchanger, a radiant heating loop and a pump and conduits to circulate heating fluid between the air-to-fluid heat exchanger and the radiant fluid loop. The air-to-fluid heat exchanger is installed within a hot air duct connected to a conventional forced air furnace; preferably in a section of the hot air duct located near the forced air furnace with an expanded cross-section. In operation, the apparatus uses heated air supplied by the forced air furnace to heat the heating fluid circulating through the apparatus. Some of the heat from an air flow supplied by the forced air furnace passing through the hot air duct is transferred to heating fluid in the air-to-fluid heat exchanger, installed within the hot air duct. This heating fluid is then circulated through a radiant heating loop to heat a desired area.

  • Patent number: 7410114
Abstract: A seat belt retractor having first and second serially arranged torsion bars and a switching mechanism provides two levels of load limiting. A bridge bolt rotationally fixed to the inboard ends of the torsion bars is threaded into a locking base, and the switching mechanism prevents bridge bolt translation relative to the locking base in a default condition to limit seat belt load with the first torsion bar. Activation of the switching mechanism permits limited translation of the bridge bolt relative to the locking base to limit seat belt load with the second torsion bar. Additional translation of the bridge bolt relative to the locking base is prevented to re-establish load limiting with the first torsion bar. The switching mechanism includes a set of detent wedges, a retaining band and an electrically activated cutting mechanism, all disposed within the retractor frame.

  • Patent number: 7410116
Abstract: A system for winding a cross-wound bobbin has a rotatably supported tube holder that is intended to receive a tube. The yarn guide element that serves the purpose of shogging the yarn moves in the direction parallel to the axis of rotation of the tube and is made to execute the oscillating reciprocating motion with the aid of a work cylinder. The work cylinder has the advantage that for braking the kinetic energy at the turning point of the yarn guide element, no additional external energy must be applied. It suffices for the applicable cylindrical chamber to be blocked off. Moreover, the gas compressed in the process can be used to accelerate the piston in the opposite direction. The stored braking energy also can be used simultaneously as acceleration energy. Since in the creation of a cross-wound bobbin many thousand such changes of direction occur, the energy savings are substantial.

  • Patent number: 7410129
Abstract: The invention relates to devices for releasing the stacking tie-rods that are used for holding deployable structures, in particular solar panels of artificial satellites. The device of the invention is self-releasing in order to enable such deployable structures to be released via the top portion of the stacking column. The invention consists in holding together the members (101) that are to be deployed by means of a tie-rod (102) having a nut (111) screwed onto its free end. The force for holding the stack together is transmitted by modules (106, 107) which are themselves held together by said force. When the stacking tension is reduced, resilient means, such as two flat spring blades (112, 113), cause the modules to move away from the tie-rod, thus enabling the members of the deployable structure to be released.

  • Patent number: 7410134
Abstract: A system and method for routing and segregating cables is provided. An embodiment includes a support member having a plurality of cable trays coupled thereto. The cable trays may be arranged in a tiered-manner such that cable receiving portions of the cable trays extend farther than an adjacent cable tray in a longitudinal direction. Cables may then be routed to individual cable trays, which route the cables to a second location. In this manner, the cables in each cable tray are segregated from cables in other cable trays, thereby reducing the twisting of the cables.

  • Patent number: 7410143
Abstract: An adjusting structure is located between a bracing frame and a monitor for height adjustment by using slide-type mechanisms. The adjusting structure comprises a fixing base, a slide base, and a slide means, wherein several trenches are formed on the fixing base for holding the bracing frame. Two insertion trenches are oppositely formed on both sides of the fixing base for holding the slide base. The slide means is coupled with the monitor. When the user holds the both sides of the monitor, he can exactly hook and hold a braking shaft by hands so as to release ratches from a stop device such that the slide means, which is coupled with the monitor, can be inserted into the slide base so as to engage the ratches with the racks. As a result, the adjusting structure can be rapidly, accurately, and finely shifted to a proper height.

  • Patent number: 7410146
Abstract: A drain valve allows liquid to flow into or out of a liquid-container product by use of a restriction cap having a control ring that twists in and out of a base ring in order to control the flow. The restriction cap has a flow valve, having a top, apertures, and a base, and a control ring, having a top, base, center aperture, and protrusions. The control ring is sealed against the flow valve top by an O-ring when the drain valve is closed and is also sealed against the side of the flow valve. As the control ring is twisted into the base ring, control ring protrusions twist within channels inside the base ring and a piston valve is depressed, allowing liquid to flow. As the control ring is twisted out of the base ring, the control ring base blocks the flow apertures, preventing liquid from flowing.
