Abstract: A method for taking measurements by a user equipment (UE) during a measurement gap begins with taking UE-specific measurements. The UE requests a measurement gap from a wireless network, the request including the UE-specific measurements. The UE receives measurement gap information from the network, including when the measurement gap is scheduled. The UE takes the measurements during the scheduled measurement gap.

Abstract: When chuck pins are in a releasing state, support pins for supporting a lower surface of a substrate at respective heights different from each other support the substrate in an inclined position. When the chuck pins are in a gripping state, substrate gripping parts grip a substrate sidewise to separate the substrate upwardly from a substrate rest part, thereby holding the substrate in a horizontal position at a predetermined gripping height. After a liquid mass covering the substrate is formed, the chuck pins are changed from the gripping state to the releasing state to support the substrate having been gripped in the horizontal position into an inclined position, thereby draining the liquid mass from the surface of the substrate. The substrate with the liquid mass drained from the surface thereof is held and rotated in a horizontal position. Thus, the substrate is dried.

Abstract: A precision targeting system for a firearm has an image capturing scope, a processor, and an actuator. In one embodiment, a user indicates when he wants to lock onto the target, and then readjust his aim after receiving feedback from the system. In another embodiment, the system automatically locks onto the target. After lock on, the system compares successive images, and determines if the target has moved in the firearm sight. If movement has occurred, the system calculates the degree of the movement, and sends appropriate signals to an actuator which corrects the aim of the firearm. The system thereby converts reasonably good aim into precision aim.

Abstract: A scented trail apparatus for applying a scent trail across selected terrain and luring animals along the scent trail to a blind or observation area, which apparatus includes a scent canister secured at one end of the trail and containing an animal scent lure; a reel apparatus located at the other end of the trail; a scent carrier for insertion in the scent canister and receiving a quantity of the animal lure scent in the scent canister; and a line connecting the reel and the scent carrier. A cap typically encloses the scent carrier and a segment of the line inside the scent canister and the scent carrier is caused to traverse the trail by operation of the reel to apply a residue of animal lure scent along the scent trail. A line depressor may be used to depress the line and the scent carrier on or close to the ground while the scent carrier and line are manually pulled from the reel to the scent canister.

Abstract: A device for transportation of live baitfish is disclosed. The device comprises a container having an interior portion and a plurality of strain holes such that the container holds water when sitting in an upright position but which allows water exchange with the interior portion when placed in a body of water. A strainer is disposed in the interior portion of the container and connected to at least one elevator rail. A releasable handle is attached to the at least one elevator rail and disposed substantially outside the container. The handle provides a grip for lifting and carrying the container when the handle is in a first unreleased state, and serves to elevate the strainer by lifting the at least one elevator rail when in a second released state.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for converting lignocellulosic material into biofuel. In particular embodiments, the method comprises pre-treating lignocellulosic material by dissolving the material in ionic liquids. The pretreated lignocellulosic material can be isolated, such as by precipitation with a regenerating solvent (e.g., water), and be used directly in the formation of biofuel, including undergoing hydrolysis to form sugar and fermentation to form fuel, such as bioethanol. The ionic liquid can be recycled for further use, such as by evaporation of the water introduced during precipitation, and the recycling provides a route to a hemicellulose rich fraction and an ionic liquid of consistent quality and wood dissolution characteristics. The recovered hemicelluloses are of significant utilization potential toward commodity and specialty applications.
