  • Patent number: 7419724
Abstract: One aspect of the present invention is an adhesive composition formed from two packs. One pack includes an isocyanate-functional prepolymer formed by reacting a polyisocyanate with an alcohol (e.g., polyol). The isocyanate equivalents from the polyisocyanate exceed the hydroxyl equivalents from the alcohol. The second pack is an aqueous polymer emulsion. These two packs are combined to form the novel adhesive composition. Another aspect of the invention is a method for joining together two surfaces of wood products by application of an adhesive thereto. The first step in this method is to mist with water the wood product surfaces to be joined. An adhesive composition then is applied to the misted wood product surfaces. Alternatively, the water misting can be replaced with an aqueous emulsion being part of the adhesive composition. Finally, the adhesive composition is cured.

  • Patent number: 7419725
Abstract: A coated article is provided with a low-emissivity (low-E) layer stack for use in a window unit or the like. The layer stack, or coating, may permit the coated article to achieve one or more of a low solar factor (SF) value, a high selectivity (Tvis/SF) value, substantially neutral color at normal and/or off-axis viewing angles, and/or low emissivity. When high selectivity values are achieved, there is provided a high ratio of visible transmission to SF, which is a desirable feature in certain example instances. In certain example embodiments, asymmetric IR reflecting layer thicknesses may be used (e.g., bottom IR reflecting layer thicker than the top IR reflecting layer), and/or different contact layer for the top/bottom IR reflecting layers may be used to help achieve a combination of low SF values, high selectivity, and good coloration at normal and/or off-axis viewing angles.

  • Patent number: 7419729
Abstract: A multilayered ferromagnetic laminate includes a first magnetic film having a cobalt alloy and a second magnetic film having an iron-nitrogen alloy. The films are deposited upon one another and laminated to provide a multilayered film structure having an alternating plurality of the first and second magnetic films. The cobalt alloy may be a cobalt-zirconium-tantalum alloy. The nitrogen is incorporated interstitially in the crystalline structure of the iron of the second magnetic film. The laminate forms the magnetic shields and the write poles of magnetic disk and tape heads. The lamination of the first magnetic film which has high electrically resistive, high mechanical hardness, and high magnetic moment characteristics with the second magnetic film which has lower electrically resistive and very high magnetic moment characteristics yields the laminate which has very high magnetic moment and very hard pole material characteristics and has the ability to write at high frequencies.

  • Patent number: 7419731
Abstract: A fuel reservoir having a reticulated material, generally a felt or a foam, disposed therein is provided. The addition of this reticulated material, either alone or in combination with a viscous fuel, assists the prevention of undesired flow of the fuel, the minimization of undesired leakages, and assists in orientation independence and uniform distribution of the fuel in the reservoir. The reticulated material enables the use of a viscous liquid fuel that has fuel diffusion rates and fuel utilization characteristics that approach those of neat liquid methanol. The material also helps create a greater surface area for evaporation, thus allowing a highly concentrated, vaporous fuel substance to be delivered to an associated fuel cell.

Abstract: In a halftone phase shift mask blank comprising a halftone phase shift film on a substrate which is transparent to exposure light, the halftone phase shift film comprises a metal, silicon, and optionally oxygen and nitrogen. The halftone phase shift film experiences a phase difference change of up to 1 deg. and a transmittance change of up to 0.2% before and after it is exposed to light in a cumulative dose of 1 kJ/cm2. The halftone phase shift film has excellent resistance to exposure light, specifically high-energy exposure light of short wavelength such as ArF or F2 laser beam (193 or 157 nm).

  • Patent number: 7419754
Abstract: Particles, preferably toner particles comprised of at least binder and colorant, are described that include a doped conductive polymer material as a surface additive on the external surface of the particle. The presence of the doped external conductive polymer material enables the particles to retain a substantially uniform charge distribution over the surface of the particles over time, and also enables appropriate control over the triboelectric (tribo) properties of a developer. Also described are developers comprised of such particles in admixture with carrier particles, and methods of making the particles and developers.

  • Patent number: 7419755
Abstract: Carrier particles comprise a core and a polymer coating that comprises a mixture of polymethyl methacrlyate (PMMA) and melamine. The coating compositions comprise from about 60 to about 80 percent by weight of PMMA and from about 20 to about 40 percent by weight of melamine. The carriers may be combined with a toner to provide a developer suitable for use in an electrostatographic process. Carriers comprising the PMMA/melamine coatings exhibit increased triboelectric charging, a more conductive carrier, and also contribute to reducing toner cohesion.

  • Patent number: 7419760
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a top anti-reflective coating composition comprising a bissulfone compound, as a photoacid generator, represented by Formula 1 below: wherein R1 and R2 are independently, a straight, branched or cyclic alkyl, aryl, alkenyl, oxoalkyl or oxoaryl group of 1 to 20 carbon atoms; or a halogen-substituted straight, branched or cyclic alkyl, aryl, alkenyl, oxoalkyl or oxoaryl group of 1 to 20 carbon atoms. Since the top anti-reflective coating composition dissolves a portion of a photoacid generator present at the top of an underlying photosensitizer, particularly, upon formation of a top anti-reflective coating, it can prevent the top from being formed into a thick section. Therefore, the use of the anti-reflective coating composition enables the formation of a vertical pattern of a semiconductor device.
