Abstract: A mold assembly and a method for injection molding of an impeller, and an impeller formed by the method are provided. The mold assembly comprises a first mold, a central mold, and a second mold. The central mold encircles the first mold, and the second mold matches with the first mold and the central mold to form a mold cavity, complementary in shape to the impeller. The melted plastic material is injected into the aforementioned mold cavity. After the plastic material is cured, the central mold is adapted to enclose the cured plastic material. The cured plastic material is removed from the first mold, and then is removed from the central mold and the second mold to form the impeller. The blade portion of the impeller is radially connected to an edge of a central portion of the impeller. The blade portion has a plurality of blades, equally spaced apart with one another in sequence along the edge. Each of the blades comprises a smooth surface without an ejector pin mark.

  • Publication number: 20080232971
Abstract: The invention refers to a coated turbine blade for a gas turbine, having blade walls divided into sections with locally adapted material temperatures. The cooler material temperatures of the blade walls are at the points where the support ribs merge into the blade walls. The regions with higher material temperatures of the blade walls are at the positions where cavities are arranged inside the blade walls. This is achieved via a ceramic thermal barrier coating having different layer thicknesses that allow different material temperatures. The region of the surface of the blade wall which faces the working medium and lies opposite an internal rib has a thicker thermal barrier coating than a region of the surface of the blade wall which is cooled via a cooling medium that flows in the cavities. This results in homogenization of the material temperature in the connecting regions, which results in prolonged blade life.

One of the key characteristics of the device is its ability to perform the measurement without destructing the product, and therefore, maintaining its quantity and quality. The technologies empowering the invention are the nondestructive ultrasonic sensing and the intelligent analysis of data collected. Ultrasonic waves are emitted towards the object from different directions, and the different reflections are collected and passed by for analysis. The analytic component analyses the signals, and with the use of advanced signal processing technologies, the signatures that represent the presence of sugar are extracted. These, combined with the measurement of the analyzed volume are used to find out the concentration and amount of sugar in the product.

Abstract: A chemical sensor based on an indicator dye wherein a light transmissive element containing the indicator dye is made of a hygroscopic polymer. The polymer may be, for example, a polyimide or PMMA or other polymer. In an alternative embodiment the light transmissive element is doped with metal nanocolloidal particles. One embodiment may include a reference photodiode and differential amplifier to compensate for the fluctuations of the intensity of the light source. The light source may be pulse modulated. The sensor may include calibration means comprising a reference sample of the chemical to be detected and a precision delivery means. A method of fabricating the polymer and metal nanocolloid is disclosed wherein the nanocolloid is produced by generating a pulsed laser plasma in a suspension of metal particles and an organic solvent and adding the resulting solvent colloid to a solution containing the polymer.

An upper curved surface 11, which is curved in an outer direction of the nozzle tip 2 starting with a boundary portion between the barrel 4 and a leading end opening 5 of the nozzle tip 2 and the leading end opening 5, is formed. A lower curved surface 12 is formed continuously from the upper curved surface 11 to be curved in an inner direction. An angle formed between a line tangent to a boundary portion 13 between the upper curved surface 11 and the lower curved surface 12 and a center axis of the nozzle tip 2 is adapted to fall within a range between 45° and 20°.

Abstract: The disclosed apparatus includes a stator and a rotor disposed for rotation within the stator. An inner wall of the stator defines one or more collider chambers. Rotation of the rotor causes movement of fluid disposed between the rotor and stator and establishes a rotational flow pattern within the collider chambers. The fluid movement induced by the rotor increases the temperature, density, and pressure of the fluid in the collider chamber.

Abstract: The invention relates to sealing device for microplates, a method of sealing and a novel use. The sealing device is used for isolating the interior of a biological reaction vessel from the exterior of the reaction vessel and comprises a generally planar sealing layer intimately attachable to the vessel by heating so as to cover an open end of the vessel. According to the invention, the sealing layer is formed of elastomeric material capable of forming a heat-actuated bond to the vessel at an elevated temperature achievable solely by the heated platen of a thermal cycling apparatus operating at normal thermal cycling protocol operating temperatures and placed in contact with the sealing device. The invention provides a simplified device and method for sealing microplates effectively.
