Publication number: 20080240600Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a method of decoding an encoded video signal that includes a plurality of successive encoded images. The method initially receives an encoded image of the video signal. It then decodes the encoded image. The method next examines the decoded image to determine whether the decoded image satisfies at least one criterion for performing a post-filter operation on the decoded image. Only if the decoded image satisfies the criterion, the method performs the post-filter operation on the decoded image. The criterion in some embodiments is whether the amount of time for applying the post-filter operation exceeds the remaining amount of time that the method has to process the received image. Publication number: 20080240607Abstract: Image deblurring with blurred/noisy image pairs is described. In one implementation, a system combines a blurred image with a corresponding noisy image of the same subject to create a high-quality deblurred image. The blurred/noisy image pair can be acquired by an inexpensive hand-held camera, e.g., in unfavorable low light conditions. An exemplary iterative process uses the blurred image and the noisy image at each step to produce the high-quality image. First, the system estimates the blur kernel of the blurred image using information from both the blurred and noisy images. Then, the system performs residual image deconvolution, which favors suppression of ringing artifacts. Finally, the system applies gain-controlled deconvolution to suppress remaining ringing artifacts in smooth image regions. The system iterates these steps to obtain the final high-quality image.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 20, 2007Publication date: October 2, 2008Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Jian Sun, Heung-Yeung Shum

The first bearing portion assumes a generally C-like shape and opens in a first direction perpendicular to the rotational center axis. The second bearing portion assumes a generally C-like shape and opens in a second direction opposite the first direction. A gap is formed between the first and second bearing portions along the rotational center axis. The connection portion connects the first and second bearing portions at a position opposite the gap with respect to the rotational center axis.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 25, 2008Publication date: October 2, 2008Applicant: BROTHER KOGYO KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventor: Junji UEHARA

Publication number: 20080240637Abstract: A rolling bearing device of the invention has inner rings, an outer ring, and a sealing unit having a seal case fixed to the outer ring. The seal case is internally fitted to an annular corner formed between a shoulder inner peripheral surface of the outer ring, and a seal groove in a state where the diameter of a fixed portion is reduced elastically, and is fixed to the outer ring in a state where the annular corner and an outer peripheral surface of the fixed portion are in a line contact with each other.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 25, 2008Publication date: October 2, 2008Applicant: JTEKT CORPORATIONInventor: Atsushi Kanata

Publication number: 20080240638Abstract: In the ball bearing, in a space surrounded by an inner ring, an outer ring and sealing portions, adsorbing material coatings formed on outer periphery surfaces of the inner ring, adsorbing material coatings formed on inner periphery surfaces of the outer ring, and adsorbing material coatings formed on inside surfaces of the sealing portions and adsorbing material coatings formed on a non-holding surface of the cage are disposed. The adsorption material coatings may adsorb the wear powder generated from the inner ring, the outer ring, the ball, the cage and the sealing portions and the outgas due to vaporization of the lubricant oil.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 27, 2008Publication date: October 2, 2008Applicant: JTEKT CORPORATIONInventor: Katsunori Otsuka

Publication number: 20080240639Abstract: The difference between a revolution period of larger diameter-side balls and a revolution period of smaller diameter-side balls is smaller as compared with a conventional bearing. The relation, (??10)??<?, is established, where ?(°) represents a contact angle of the larger diameter-side ball, and ?(°) represents a contact angle of the smaller diameter-side ball.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 25, 2008Publication date: October 2, 2008Applicant: JTEKT CORPORATIONInventors: Atsushi Takimoto, Youzou Taniguchi

Publication number: 20080240640Abstract: A circular arc slide apparatus that achieves improved precision and a reduction in costs is provided. The circular arc slide apparatus comprises a lower plate, an upper plate, and a circular arc track provided between the lower plate and upper plate. Guide rail portions are provided in an upper surface of the lower plate and a lower surface of the upper plate, and circular arc curve-shaped guide grooves that constitute the circular arc track are provided in opposing planar surfaces of the guide rail portions. The guide groove cross-section describes a circular arc-shape, and a plurality of balls are rollably fitted between the opposing guide grooves in a preloading state. The lower plate and upper plate are integrally machined from a plate-like material and formed in a shape comprising the guide rail portions and guide grooves, and the inner surface of each guide groove is configured as a machined face produced by an end mill.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 19, 2008Publication date: October 2, 2008Applicant: SIGMA KOKI CO., LTDInventors: Kazunori Nomi, Makoto Kadoya, Katsunori Hoshiba, Masaharu Omori

Publication number: 20080240641Abstract: The clearance between the outer peripheral surface of an annular portion of a cage and the inner peripheral surface of each of rib portions of outer-ring split pieces is set to be smaller than the clearance between the radial end surface of a projection portion of the cage and the inner peripheral surface of each of body portions of the outer-ring split pieces. When a centrifugal force due to engine rotation acts upon the cage, the inner peripheral surface of each of the rib portions of the outer-ring split pieces touches the outer peripheral surface of the annular portion of the cage before the inner peripheral surface of each of the body portions of the outer-ring split pieces touches the radial end surface of the projection portion of the cage. Thus, the radial displacement of the cage can be prevented in good time.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 20, 2008Publication date: October 2, 2008Applicant: JTEKT CorporationInventors: Yoshitaka Waseda, Tsuyoshi Okumura
