  • Patent number: 7438083
Abstract: A pressure regulating apparatus is disclosed for use in an irrigation network. A pressure regulator may be combined with a filter unit in a single pipe to reduce components and joints in the irrigation network. A pipe may be provided having openings in its sides for receiving and securing a portion of the pressure regulator. The openings may be reference ports for a pressure sink, and the ports may include a porous filter material for preventing ingress of particulate matter while permitting gas to pass therethrough. The pressure regulator has a reciprocating valve member which may be sealed within a housing of the pressure regulator or with an inner surface of the pipe. The incoming water is first filtered and then it goes to the pressure regulator. The pressure regulator may be assembled as sequentially installed components.

  • Patent number: 7438085
Abstract: A device for prevention of particulate contamination of a valve fitting and for notification of whether actual access or tampering or potential access or tampering of a fluid from a fluid tank connected to the valve and/or the valve has occurred, featuring a fitting block which is insertable within the fitting or capable of receiving the fitting, and first and second straps bendable about the valve and fastenable to each other. One of the straps may include a ring through which a valve burst disk is insertable when the strap is bent about the valve. If the device was compromised and the cylinder was removed for access to the valve fitting, the ring of one of the straps would remain on the burst disk even though the cylinder was removed from the fitting. Thus, the compromised device would remain on the valve indicating that access to the valve or fluid had been attempted or achieved.

  • Patent number: 7438086
Abstract: A control valve apparatus couples pressurized fluid to first and second actuators using first and second double valves. The first double valve includes first and second crossover passages and first and second pilots. The second double valve includes third and fourth crossover passages and third and fourth pilots. A first interconnection couples the first crossover passage with the third pilot fluid inlet. A second interconnection couples the second crossover passage with the fourth pilot fluid inlet. A third interconnection couples the third crossover passage with the first pilot fluid inlet. A fourth interconnection couples the fourth crossover passage with the second pilot fluid inlet. Thus, operation of each pilot depends upon receiving pressurized fluid from the other double valve which is only present when the other double valve is not in a fault condition.

  • Patent number: 7438087
Abstract: An overpressure rotary valve assembly for detecting and abating an overpressure condition. A valve member is configured for movement between a closed position and an open position. A locking pin contactingly retains the valve member in a selected one of the open and closed positions. A piston is coupled to the locking pin, and a collapsible member is coupled to the piston. When a fluidic pressure upon the piston reaches a predetermined threshold, the piston mechanically collapses the collapsible member and pulls the pin from the valve member, thereby freeing the valve member to move to the remaining one of the open and closed positions. The locking pin is preferably decoupled from the piston so that the pin remains in place during initial stages of piston movement. Differential pressure across the valve member does not alter the setpoint since only upstream inlet fluid is applied to the piston.

  • Patent number: 7438089
Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of units for hydraulic pilot control of directional-control valves used in the fabrication of mobile vehicles and particularly relates to a hydraulic pilot control with an oscillation damping system. Connections are provided among the chambers in the pilot control unit to provide a damping effect in the actuation stroke, thereby preventing any oscillation: the provision of such connections among the chambers has the function of preventing air stagnation; this arrangement prevents any undamped behavior due to incomplete filling upon installation or to air transported in the hydraulic fluid.

  • Patent number: 7438120
Abstract: The invention relates to a cooling device, which comprises a cooling fan and a heatsink. The heatsink is directly attached to the heating element to absorb its heat and the cooling fan is disposed on top of the heatsink to dissipate the heat. The heatsink includes a central heat dissipation body and a plurality of fins extending from the periphery of the central heat dissipation body. The central heat dissipation body has a fully-sealed hollow chamber filled with a cooling liquid and disposed an agitator. The agitator is disposed a magnetic element, and where the magnetic element corresponds to the rotor of the cooling fan must have a magnetically-attracting and mutually-dragging device in operation. By way of the magnetic attraction between the rotor of the cooling fan and the agitator, a better heat dissipation effect is secured, the chamber remains a fully-sealed room, and the cooling liquid overflow issue can be ruled out accordingly.

  • Patent number: 7438122
Abstract: The present invention offers an improved axial heat exchanger for exchanging heat between a gas medium and a fluid or liquid medium. The axial heat exchanger comprises a longitudinal and substantially axially extended outer channel that is adapted to enclose a flow of a first gas medium. The heat exchanger also comprises a plurality of substantially parallel inner channels that are adapted to enclose a flow of a second liquid medium. The inner channels are arranged inside the outer channel so as to extend substantially axially along the inside of said outer channel for enabling a transfer of heat between said first gas medium and said second liquid medium. The heat transfer is improved to some extent as the number of inner channels increases and it is further improved in that at least one of the inner channels is joined with at least one elongated sheet.

  • Patent number: 7438124
Abstract: An electronics cabinet for storing a plurality of electronic devices therein is provided and includes a fan and an evaporative cooler. The fan draws a flow of air into the cabinet, circulates the flow of air through the evaporative cooler, and then across the electronic devices for removing heat produced by the electronic devices. The evaporative cooler removes heat from the flow of air by absorbing heat from the flow of air and then dissipating the heat by evaporating a liquid into a secondary airflow, which is directed out of the cabinet. The cabinet includes a cold air plenum having an actuator for adjusting a cross-sectional area of the cold air plenum to control the airflow through each of the supports.

Abstract: An apparatus for controlling vertical movement of a tubular within a wellhead includes an anchor spool connected atop the wellhead, and a detachable superstructure supporting the tubular. The anchor spool provides connectors for detachably connecting bottom ends of at least two piston cylinders of the detachable superstructure. The tubular may be a landing joint or a high-pressure mandrel of either a well stimulation tool, or a well isolation tool. The apparatus provides unobstructed access to a top end of the tubular. The anchor spool includes an elongated sidewall and an axial passage through which a tubing hanger can be reciprocated. The height of the sidewall permits the apparatus to be used for landing/removing a tubing string even if the anchor spool is mounted directly to a blowout preventer (BOP).

  • Patent number: 7438129
Abstract: A process for treating produced water to generate high pressure steam. Produced water from heavy oil recovery operations is treated by first removing oil and grease. Feedwater is then acidified and steam stripped to remove alkalinity and dissolved non-condensable gases. Pretreated produced water is then fed to an evaporator. Up to 95% or more of the pretreated produced water stream is evaporated to produce (1) a distillate having a trace amount of residual solutes therein, and (2) evaporator blowdown containing substantially all solutes from the produced water feed. The distillate may be directly used, or polished to remove the trace residual solutes before being fed to a steam generator. Steam generation in a packaged boiler, such as a water tube boiler having a steam drum and a mud drum with water cooled combustion chamber walls, produces 100% quality high pressure steam for down-hole use.
