Abstract: A swimsuit is provided having a hip and thigh portion and a unitarily formed chest portion. Various compression panels may be attached to an inside surface of the hip and thigh portion as well as the chest portion for reducing muscle vibration of the chest muscle, thigh muscle and gluteal muscles.

Abstract: A swimsuit comprising an inner compression layer attached to an outer layer in a free floating manner is provided. The inner compression layer shapes, contours and slims the wearer's body, whereas the outer layer provides an aesthetically pleasing design. The inner and outer layers are positioned substantially independent from each other on the wearer's body for their respective purposes. It is further contemplated that the outer layer provides an additional shaping, contouring and slimming function in addition to the inner compression layer.

Abstract: A drag harness for use with a protective garment for a fire fighter or emergency worker is provided. The drag harness includes a gripping loop having a pull strap affixed thereto. The pull strap extends from an aperture in the protective garment such that the drag loop can be pulled through the aperture to drag the wearer. Furthermore, the protective garment may include a pocket wherein a portion of the drag loop may be contained when in a stored state.

Abstract: A two panel convertible maternity coat that can be used by a woman before, after, and during pregnancy, a pregnancy panel, and a baby panel. Pregnancy is accommodated through the addition of the pregnancy panel between the front sides of the coat. The pregnancy panel is wider at the bottom and tapered toward the top. The two panel convertible maternity coat also can be used as a garment for covering both baby and mother, father, or other wearer though the addition of the baby panel between the front sides of the coat. The baby panel is shaped wider at the top and tapers down to a lower portion. Means are provided for readily fastening each panel separately to the coat so as to provide for ease in transitioning between the uses of the coat.

Abstract: A removable drag rescue device, a method of assembling a firefighter's turnout coat to include the drag rescue device, and a coat produced thereby. The drag rescue device comprises a pair of loops which are placed in the interior of an outer shell of the coat by insertion through a pair of apertures in the shell. The drag rescue device further comprises a handle portion between the two loops which remains outside of the back of the shell for grasping and use.

Abstract: A device for retaining gloves is provided. The glove retaining device comprises a retaining means for retaining the invention on a contact point selected by the user; an ergonomic body providing sufficient resistance to allow insertion of user's gloves into a glove retaining means of the invention; a glove retaining means for retaining the user's gloves in the invention; and a protective and/or decorative skirt for protecting the user from foreign material on the gloves during insertion or retention in the invention.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved shape of a headwear, and more particularly, to a headwear manufactured by directly adhering to connect panels covering a crown part and a visor part of the headwear without an existing sewing operation so as to increase effects of wrinkle prevention and aesthetic feeling in connecting portions of the panels. The headwear according to the present invention is constructed with a crown part, a main body of the headwear which is composed of a plurality of panels and a visor part attached to a front lower portion of the crown part, in which the panels constructing the crown part and the visor part are manufactured so as to be overlapped and attached not by an existing sewing operation but by an adhesive tape or an adhesive sheet.

Abstract: A headwear includes an outer panel including at least two fabric sheets connected at each opposite end portion; an inner panel including at least two fabric sheets connected at each opposite end portion; a shape forming panel being between the outer and inner panels, downwardly offset from a center axis of the outer and inner panels, and sewed on the inner panel. With such a structure, since the margins between the outer and inner panels are far from the forehead and are separately disposed, the headwear may not compress a forehead. In addition, since the shape-forming panel may provide a variable cavity portion between the outer and inner panel, a headwear may have an excellent wearing comfort and a good design when it may come in close contact with the head.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for testing a helmet comprising the steps of: placing a strike helmet on a first headform; placing a target helmet on a second headform, colliding the strike helmet against the target helmet; and measuring the acceleration of the second headform caused by the collision. In a second embodiment, an apparatus for testing a helmet comprising: a strike helmet placed on a first headform; a target helmet placed on a second headform; a motion device for moving the strike helmet to collide with the target helmet. In a third embodiment, a helmet comprising: a shell having a zone of a greater rigidity; having a zone of a lesser rigidity; wherein the zone of lesser rigidity covers a portion of the frontal bone of a wearer.

Abstract: An impact-absorbing compressible member includes a thin-walled enclosure defining an inner chamber containing a volume of fluid such as air. The enclosure includes one or more orifices which as sized and positioned to allow air to vent from the inner chamber in response to an impact on the member and to refill the inner chamber in response to an impact on the member and to refill the inner chamber after the impact is released. The enclosure is formed of a blow-molded thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) material which is economical to make and durable in use. The compressible members can be used as building blocks for impact-absorbing shell structures for a wide variety of application such helmets, protective pads for body parts, sports arena wall padding, vehicular bumpers, dashboards and the like. The compressible member has impact-absorbing advantages over conventional foams currently used in those applications.

Abstract: A helmet includes a shell configured to be worn on a head of a user and a sensor coupled to the shell. The sensor is configured to detect deceleration of the shell below a predetermined threshold rate of deceleration and to generate a signal. The helmet further includes a communication module coupled to the shell and the sensor. The communication module is configured to receive the signal from the sensor when the sensor detects a deceleration of the shell below a predetermined threshold rate of deceleration and to generate a signal to a rescue assistance center after a predetermined time period. Abstract: A protective garment for a firefighter or emergency worker is provided. The protective garment includes a generally cylindrically shaped limb covering portion such as a sleeve or pant leg. A pocket is affixed to the limb covering portion and includes a bottom portion having an inner margin with an unstressed shape conforming to the generally cylindrically shaped limb covering portion.

Abstract: An article of clothing for a body of a person includes: a stretchable fabric defining a form-fitting body portion for closely covering a portion of the person's body when the article of clothing is worn; a plurality of gripping areas located on an exterior surface of the body portion, each of the gripping areas having a higher relative coefficient of friction than a relative coefficient of friction of the fabric defining the body portion; and a plurality of impact-absorbing pad members attached to the body portion. A method of manufacturing an article of clothing and a method of protecting ones' body by donning an article of clothing are also included.

Abstract: The invention comprises a novel device for circulating and treating odorous air inside a toilet bowl without the need for external venting of the treated air. The invention comprises a toilet air treatment device that has an air treatment member. The air treatment member has an inlet port leading from the toilet bowl to an air pathway and an outlet port leading from the air pathway to the toilet bowl. A means for treating air is located along the air pathway of the air treatment member. A means for moving air, located inside the air treatment member, causes air to be moved under pressure from the toilet bowl, through the inlet port, along the air pathway, into contact with the means for treating air, and through the outlet port into the toilet bowl.

Abstract: An odour removal apparatus for a toilet is described wherein the toilet has a bowl, a cistern for supplying water to the bowl, a flushing valve of a flushing mechanism within the cistern and an internal overflow in fluid and/or gaseous communication with the inside of the cistern and an area in the vicinity of the bowl. The apparatus includes an inlet adapted to be in fluid and/or gaseous communication with the bowl via the internal overflow and/or the flushing mechanism when installed. The apparatus also includes a gases extraction means for drawing gases and entrained odours from the area in the vicinity of the bowl, to the inlet, via the internal overflow and/or the flushing mechanism. The gases and entrained odours may then be passed to a filter to remove odours therefrom.

Abstract: A disposable toilet seat cover for a child that is portable and easy to use is disclosed. The toilet seat cover provides a user, such as a child, with hygiene protection that often is ignored by children. The toilet seat cover may be formed from one or more layers of a suitable material having lines of separation forming two flaps when the toilet seat cover is in a deployed state for keeping the cover properly positioned and for covering the gap at the front of a standard commercial toilet seat. A plurality of toilet seat covers may be packaged in a toilet seat cover dispenser that may be sized to fit in a pocket or purse and that may accommodate multiple seat covers in a folded and rolled position.

Abstract: A waterless urinal has a fixture including a backsplash and side walls joining a bowl at the bottom. Mounted on the top of the fixture is a fluid reservoir, a valve and a controller. The controller periodically opens the valve to release a quantity of a cleansing sealant from the reservoir onto the non-wetted surfaces of the fixture. The cleansing sealant cleans the non-wetted surfaces and then flows into the bowl where it collects to replenish the trap seal.

Abstract: A novel device for the collection of stool and/or urine samples is arranged for use in a toilet having a rim and a bowl. The device has a sample collection platform arranged to receive the sample and an end wall extending from the sample collection platform at an angle to the sample collection platform, and the end wall includes attachment means for attaching the device to the bowl of the toilet.

The interlocking system generally comprises interlocking mechanical coupling portions at the ends of each support rail, allowing the ends of the support rails to be joined together to form a support frame without hard corner blocks that might reduce mattress comfort. The banding system comprises banding flaps that enwrap the support rails and attach them to the mattress cover. This allows for improved structural integrity during the assembly process, since the support frame is securely held in place.

Abstract: This invention relates to a method and a device for cleaning the textile materials in water environment, more specially to cleaning, disinfecting and softening of textile materials which could be used in a domestic environment for cleaning of soiled textile materials, including clothes of natural and synthetic textile materials. The method characterized in that textile materials are treated in water environment for 40-60 minutes during the simultaneous influence of sound and subsonic waves with frequency ranging from 8.5 to 32 kHz and in the presence of permanent magnetic field. During the influence of the subsonic waves silver particles, are dispersed in the washing solution, creating concentration of silver ions at about 1.10?7-2.10?8 g/l.

Abstract: The present invention discloses methods and kit-of-parts for treating keratinous fibres prior to dyeing to control and modulate dye uptake into the fibre. Organic solvents having log P of from ?4.0 to ?0.5 or from 0.5 to 4.0 are used to manufacture pre-treatment composition to be applied to the hair. When the hair is pre-treated with at least one organic solvent having a log P of from 0.5 to 4.0 the dye penetration into the keratinous fibres is enhanced, while pre-treating the hair with at least one organic solvent having a log P of from ?4.0 to ?0.5 reduces the dye uptake. One or more compositions to pre-treat the keratinous fibres can be effortlessly applied on different zones of the hair and can be left in place or removed prior the application of the dyeing composition.
