Abstract: A rachet strap tightener and a power driven rotary tool are arranged to be operated together for tightening a strap. The body of the power driven rotary tool is arranged to be anchored in mating engagement relative to the body of the rachet strap tightener, in addition to coupling the rotating mating parts of the tool and the strap tightener, such that the torque applied when winding the spindle of the tightener no longer acts to twist the tightener body from the user's hands but rather the torque is anchored directly through the bodies so that winding of the spindle with the power driven tool can be accomplished quickly, efficiently and in a safe manner.

Abstract: The invention realizes setting of measurement positions suitable for a warping state of a printed board and an easy work of setting the measurement positions. A printed board as a measurement sample is positioned three-dimensionally in X, Y and vertical directions on a positioning portion, and then a backup base is lifted up to apply backup pins to the back surface of the board and support the board horizontally. Then, the warping state of the board is measured by a height level detection device, and based on the measurement result the CPU displays the board on a monitor three-dimensionally or by contour lines. Once an operator sets measurement positions on the screen, the CPU converts each of the set positions into coordinates on the board, writes the coordinates of the set positions in the top of mounting data, and stores the data in the RAM.

Abstract: A level with magnetic device relates to a measuring instrument. That level includes a case body and a bubble cell on the case body, and it is characterized in that the cross section of the bottom of the case body, being the location of the reference plane, has a profiled shape, and furthermore by this is constituted a profiled slot on the bottom of the case body, a magnet is placed inside the profiled slot on the bottom of said case body, an elastic retaining bracket is pressed on top of the magnet, and the shapes of that elastic retaining bracket and the profiled slot are complementarily matched. That level solves the problem of instability of precision of the contemporary level with magnetic device, and it is widely applicable in the level industry.

Abstract: An apparatus for determining a proper level of an item on any surface. The apparatus comprises a frame member having a predetermined shape and formed of a predetermined material. A first LED readout is disposed in the frame member for determining a level in a vertical direction and a second LED readout is disposed in the frame member closely adjacent to the first LED readout for determining a level in a horizontal direction. There is at least at least one magnet disposed on a bottom portion of the frame member for holding the frame member against a metal surface and such frame member has a counterweight disposed therein for offsetting the weight of the LED readouts. A power means is in electrical communication with the first and the second LED readouts and is disposed in a back portion of the frame members and a switch means is disposed in the frame member and is in electrical communication with the power means and such first and second LED readouts for turning the apparatus either on or off.

Abstract: The technology of the present application provides a system and method for marking opposing surfaces of varying sizes, shapes, and materials. This system and method allow a user to transfer the outline or location of a relevant feature such as, for example, a fastener, utility outlet, architectural feature, or window or door, from one surface to another through the use of a transferable marking substance, thereby eliminating the need for complicated and limited fixtures or time consuming and often inaccurate manual measurements.

Abstract: An avalanche probe for locating and rescuing people buried by an avalanche is collapsible, having several probe segments which allow the probe to be folded to a compact unit that can be quickly and easily assembled for use. A connecting cord passes through the probe segments and fastens to a probe tip. Applying tension to the cord draws the segments into alignment. A clamping mechanism maintains the tension on the cord in such a manner that the probe segments are fixedly and securely held against one another. The clamping mechanism provides two interpenetrating elements, an outer element and an inner element having a passage therethrough. At least one clamping element passes into the central passage and is forcibly engaged with the cord as the interpenetration of the elements increases.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a tape measure with a self-regulating speed control mechanism. The tape measure is capable of self-regulating its speed so that the retraction speed of a blade is not too fast or slow, and does not introduce any noise to the working environment in the case where the speed of the blade is not reduced. According to the present invention, a rotary brake part is elastically biased by a second elastic member, and is brought into contact with a stationary brake part only when the rotating speed of a bobbin is very fast.
