Abstract: A paint protection method and cover is disclosed. In a particular embodiment, the method includes providing a cover having a substrate layer, an overlying absorbent layer, and an integrated adhesive strip disposed on an outer perimeter surface of the substrate layer and proximate to at least one edge of the cover. The method further includes forming at least one paint impermeable seam between the cover and a surface by adhering the adhesive strip to the surface.

Abstract: The suction flat roof drain is deployed on a flat roof between a water accumulating depression on the roof and the edge of the roof. The flat roof drain includes an intake tube section with an open end disposed in the flat roof depression and a raised tube element spaced apart from the open end. The intake tube section is attached, at an end opposite the open end, to a water collector which collects rainfall. The water collector has an open accumulation port, a water collection body part and a one-way flow valve. The one-way flow valve is interposed between the water collection body part and an intake suction port and an output port. The output port of the water collector is attached to one end of an output tube section. The other end of the output tube section hangs over the edge of the roof (or into another drain element). The second or other end of the output tube section operates as a weight activated fluid output which permits water to drain therefrom when water is present at the second end.

Abstract: A corner bench for a shower is constructed by placing a beam diagonally between adjacent walls of the shower. The ends of the beam are supported on the upwardly facing edges of tile pieces which are attached to the shower walls. The tile pieces are placed on the walls such that their upper edges are horizontal and are coplanar with the top of the beam. A triangular platform is then placed on top of the beam and the upper edges of these tile pieces to create the bench. Tile is then placed on top of the platform and the front of the beam to finish the bench.

Abstract: Trailer shelters having foam head and side members are described herein. An over road trailer shelter configured in accordance with one embodiment includes a flexible head curtain configured to extend horizontally along a top portion of an opening in a warehouse or other building. The flexible head curtain can include at least one fabric flap hingeably attached to an exterior surface of a base fabric layer. The fabric flap is configured to protect the head member from damage resulting from repeated trailer contact. A trailer enclosure configured in accordance with another embodiment includes a head member that extends horizontally between first and second side members. Each of the side members and the head member includes a compressible foam portion covered by a fabric portion. In addition, each of the side members supports a flexible side curtain that extends inwardly to seal against the sides of the trailer.

Abstract: A roofing module provides weather protection generates electrical power. The module comprises a base having a plurality of curved crests and curved pans. The crests and pans have contours sized and shaped to match the size and shape of the contours and pans of conventional clay or concrete S-tiles to enable the base to interlock with the conventional clay or concrete S-tiles. The base is made from lightweight plastic material. Each crest of the base includes a depressed portion. A photovoltaic panel is positioned in the depressed portions of at least two curved crests and span across at least one curved pan between the at least two curved crests.

Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for screening odor emitters for one or more target odors. A screening station is adapted to permit an odor emitter, such as a pedestrian or vehicle, to pass through the screening station. An observation room contains a dog trained to identify at least one target odor. An airflow inducer; directs airflow through the screening station. A porous passage allows airflow from the screening station to the observation room. Air flows through the screening station to entrain odors emitted in the screening station and passes through the porous passage for sensing by the dog.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for repairing the jamb of a door, window, or the like, without removal or replacement of the jamb, through use of an elongated U-shaped channel adapted to slide over a portion of the jamb and be secured in place on the jamb. The channel includes slots therein for receipt of a latching mechanism where required.

Abstract: A building fenestration that reduces the amount of time, effort and expense associated with installing a jamb in a rough opening of a building panel structure includes a jamb positioned plumb in the opening, the jamb having outwardly facing planar surfaces, at least one bracket receiving slot on at least one of the outwardly facing planar surfaces of the jamb, and a bracket having first and second legs at right angles to each other, the first leg of the bracket received in the bracket receiving slot and the second leg of the bracket fastened to the building panel structure, wherein the bracket receiving slot is defined between one of the outwardly facing planar surfaces of the jamb and a substantially flat plate.

The expandable frame includes an expandable header assembly, an expandable lock-side assembly and a hinge-side piece. The header assembly includes a frame mount and a header stop mounted onto the underside of the header, the hinge-side piece is mounted vertically against the door jamb on one side of the entry, and the lock-side assembly includes a lock-side stop and a frame mount mounted vertically onto the door jamb opposite the hinge section. A user can adjust the position of the header assembly and lock-side assembly to accommodate a door having smaller dimensions than the height and width of the entrance.

Trim units [2] are elongated strips having insertion strips [10] which are designed to fit into and be retained by receiving channels [4] of the receiver strips [1]. Since the trim units [2] are designed to have a low profile, and they cover the seams between the wall panels [7], there is no need for further finishing or caulking. Therefore, these wall panels [7] may be removed and replaced with minimal effort or cleanup. The system also includes easily installable, removable and replaceable base molding [16], crown molding [19], and chair rail molding [29]. These may be designed to create chase ways [18, 74] allowing hidden routing of electrical, utility cables, pipes and hoses.

Abstract: A variable position gas trap apparatus and method to separate gases entrained in drilling fluid in a tank. The apparatus includes a gas trap attached to a carriage and a frame attached to the tank. A lever moveable by the float rod, activates the control valve to raise or lower the carriage having the gas trap container attached thereto. A feedback control loop is responsive to changes in the level of the drilling fluid in the tank. A mechanism is provided to mechanically and automatically move the carriage with respect to the frame in response to the feedback control loop.

Abstract: The present invention addresses the need for a collapsible filter that is easily assembled and installed. The collapsible filter comprises top and bottom arms rotatably attached to the top and bottom edges of two end caps. A pleated filter media is provided attached to at least one of the end caps. The present invention also addresses the need for mechanisms to facilitation the expansion of the pleated filter media, utilizing spring-like devices or other materials that may be compressed but expand to a natural state. Similarly, the present invention further addresses the need for mechanisms that allow for controlling the distance between adjacent pleats within a pleated, collapsible filter media. The present invention recognizes that a combination of these approaches may be utilized to provide a collapsible filter that is easily constructed at a manufacturing facility, assembled in the field, and installed within a system having need for a filter.

Abstract: An automatic connection mechanism for a mid-mounted implement to a tractor is disclosed. The automatic connection mechanism includes a rear lift linkage pivotably attached to the tractor, that automatically and releasably engage the rear of the implement. The forward lift linkage is pivotably attached to the front of the implement, and automatically and releasably engages the forward end of the tractor. A PTO coupling member also is attached to the rear lift linkage to engage an opposing PTO coupling member on the implement.

Abstract: Provided is a gas turbine power plant in which a rotor of a generator is journalled by water lubrication bearings into which a part of cooling water for cooling the generator is fed. Since the lubrication water has a viscosity lower than that of lubrication oil, it is possible to provide a gas turbine power plant with less energy loss resulting in lower power consumption for accessories, and in high power generation efficiency.

Abstract: A gas turbine topping device, which is disposed upstream of a steam-raising section, is used for generating power in the manufacture of sulphuric acid. A sulfur-burning combustor generates hot sulfur dioxide while a pressure-exchanging ejector mixes the hot combustion gases with a cooler gas (e.g. pressurized air, pressurized N2 or recycled sulfur dioxide (SO2) to form a mixed working gas having a temperature below the maximum allowable temperature (metallurgical limit) of the blades of the turbine. The turbine drives an oxygen compressor which supplies oxygen to a bubbling chamber which also receives S8 to produce sulfur vapor for combustion. By using stoichiometric quantities, sulfur dioxide is delivered in requisite quantities to a sulfuric acid plant without any harmful emissions. Useful amounts of electrical power can thus be generated by the gas turbine topping device as well as the downstream steam turbine by harnessing the enormous amount of waste heat involved in the manufacture of sulfuric acid.

When an abnormality occurs in one of the air supply systems and one of the engine+compressor combinations, the FCC maintains the flow rate of the normally operating air supply system and then increases the flow rate. As a result, the normally operating drive source is prevented from overloading. In another embodiment, a fan control apparatus includes a fan, an air source, two air supply systems, and a bypass channel. The air is caused to flow through the bypass channel when an abnormality occurs in one of the air supply systems. As a result, the time that elapses till the fluid can be supplied at a necessary flow rate is shortened.

Abstract: In an exhaust gas purifying system (1) which is equipped with a NOx occlusion reduction type catalyst (11) and an oxidation catalyst (12) set on the upstream side of the catalyst (11) and in which sulfur purge control for regenerating the sulfur-poisoned catalyst (11) is conducted, in conducting the sulfur purge control, the air fuel ratio control for sulfur purge is conducted after the temperature difference (?TIO) between the inlet side and outlet side of the catalyst (11) has been reduced to a prescribed level (?T0) or below by raising the exhaust temperature. According to the invention, the sulfur poison on the catalyst (11) can be uniformly removed in the sulfur-purge regeneration control, whereby the service life of the catalyst (11) can be protected from being shortened by sulfur poisoning.
