Abstract: Mountain Mike's Reproductions ATV Gun Rack/Pop-up Shooting Rest is a rack to be mounted on an ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle). This rack will hold a gun or rifle securely for travel and double as a shooting rest when stopped. Its appearance is similar to many ATV gun mounted rack. The difference is its ability to be released on one end and with the use of gas spring pop-up and double as a shooting rest. It will be mounted to pop-up to the left for left handed shooters or turned around to pop-up to the right for right handed shooters. The one side of the rack which comes up is levered to maintain a vertical position and rotates 360 degrees to work as a shooting rest. It can be used from a stationary ATV in the riding position or by off-mounted riders around the ATV. While traveling, the rack is securely held down in the locked position with the use a cam clamp. When stationary and ready to use the clamp lock down is released and the end of the rack is pushed up by the gas spring.

Abstract: A portable linear fastener driving tool is provided that drive staples, nails, or other linearly driven fasteners. The tool uses a gas spring principle, in which a cylinder filled with compressed gas is used to quickly force a piston through a driving stroke movement, while a driver also drives a fastener into a workpiece. The piston/driver is then moved back to its starting position by use of a rotary-to-linear lifter, and the piston again compresses the gas above the piston, thereby preparing the tool for another driving stroke. The driver has protrusions along its edges that contact the lifter, which lifts the driver during a return stroke. A pivotable latch is controlled to move into either an interfering position or a non-interfering position with respect to the driver protrusions, and acts as a safety device, by preventing the driver from making a full driving stroke at an improper time.

Abstract: A method is provided for reading distorted optical symbols using known locating and decoding methods, without requiring a separate and elaborate camera calibration procedure, without excessive computational complexity, and without compromised burst noise handling. The invention exploits a distortion-tolerant method for locating and decoding 2D code symbols to provide a correspondence between a set of points in an acquired image and a set of points in the symbol. A coordinate transformation is then constructed using the correspondence, and run-time images are corrected using the coordinate transformation. Each corrected run-time image provides a distortion-free representation of a symbol that can be read by traditional code readers that normally cannot read distorted symbols. The method can handle both optical distortion and printing distortion. The method is applicable to “portable” readers when an incident angle with the surface is maintained, the reader being disposed at any distance from the surface.

Abstract: Systems and methods for painting a surface are disclosed. The method includes securing a track relative to a surface to be painted. A traveling control unit is mounted to the track. The spray head is suspended from the traveling control unit and in front of the surface to be painted. The spray head is moved relative to the surface by moving the traveling control unit along the track to move the spray head along a first painting axis and moving the spray head relative to the control unit along a second painting axis. A painting plan for a design to be painted is executed by emitting a spray of paint from the spray head at various coordinates. An image of the surface can be scanned and overlayed with a virtual representation of the design for evaluation prior to painting.

Abstract: A spray nozzle assembly includes a pressure dependent variable spray orifice and an internal chamber which is at least partially bound by a flexibly deformable sidewall. At its distal end, the sidewall terminates at a distal face defining the spray orifice extending therethrough. A metering member extends distally from the internal chamber and through at least a portion of the spray orifice. As the pressure of a liquid supplied to the internal chamber by a liquid supply pathway varies, the flexibly deformable sidewall expands or contracts in response thereto. As the sidewall expands and contracts, the distal face moves relative to the metering member to change the effective size of the spray orifice.

Abstract: A shredder includes a housing having a throat for receiving at least one article to be shredded, and a shredder mechanism received in the housing and including an electrically powered motor and cutter elements. The shredder also includes a detector that is configured to detect a thickness of the at least one article being received by the throat, and a controller that is configured to operate the motor to drive the cutter elements to shred the at least one article and to set a flutter threshold higher than the predetermined maximum thickness threshold, if the detected thickness is less than a predetermined maximum thickness threshold. The controller is also configured to thereafter continuously detect the thickness of the at least one article being inserted into a throat of the shredder; and to perform a predetermined operation responsive to the thickness detector detecting that the thickness of the at least one article is greater than the flutter threshold.

Abstract: A device for reducing solids and increasing pressure in a fluid handling system has comminution and inducer sections in a housing upstream of a pump impeller. A rotor has a hub with a small inlet diameter and a larger outlet diameter and a helical rotor blade with its blade pitch angle progressively increasing from inlet to outlet as a polynomial function. The comminutor section has a larger diameter than the inducer section and comminutor vanes extending inward forming a vane edge effective diameter equal to the inducer section diameter. The rotor blade turning within the closing fitting cage of vane edges provides a crushing and shearing action to solids in the fluid flow. Cutouts on the blade edge provide additional crushing and shearing action against the vanes. The fluid passageway sectional area at the outlet is bigger than the throat of the downstream main impeller.

Abstract: A grinding system includes a mill housing. A milling unit in the housing has a moveable milling member operable to grind coal. A drive system includes a drive shaft and at least one gear in a gear case drivingly connecting the milling member to the drive shaft. An exhauster is operable to draw air into the housing through an inlet and draw a mixture of air and powdered coal out of the housing through an outlet. A pressurization system is operable to maintain the gear case pressure at a higher pressure than an air pressure in the housing. In one method of grinding coal a gear case pressure is maintained at a pressure higher than a pressure at the housing inlet while the milling member grinds coal into a powder and the exhauster draws a mixture of powdered coal and air out of the housing.

Abstract: A shaped opening is provided in the screen apparatus of a grinder. The shaped opening helps accumulate, gather and congregate materials that have not been reduced sufficiently in size. The shaped opening is located on the trailing edge of the screen opening. By being located on the trailing edge, lodged materials are urged into the shaped area during the grinding function. As more lodged materials are urged into the shaped area, the materials are congregated sufficiently for the cutters to engage the material and pull it back into the grinding chamber (and out of the screen).

Abstract: A large arbor anti-reverse fly fishing reel provides by its handle a convenient variable drug control up to a present drag force. The drag knob is preferably designed as a four-vane propeller knob being arranged within a handle depression extending inside the spool. By means of a bayonet coupling, which also serves as a variable drag control device, the handle can be securely attached to the reel thereby locking the spool. The spool can be provided with omega-like perforations for a maximum stability, lightness and ventilation, said ventilation being optionally enhanced by an air turbine formed by said perforation and a portion of the frame and/or a portion of the handle extending inside the spool.
