Abstract: Elbow and knee guards for providing protection from fragments, bullets, projectiles, and blunt force trauma injuries. The guards contain ballistic material that is incorporated or inserted into the appropriate carriers. A rigid or semi-rigid ballistic or non-ballistic cap can also be attached to the outer portion of the guards to increase the overall protection provided. Non-ballistic energy absorption material can also be added to increase the overall protection against blunt force trauma injuries.

Abstract: The invention provides high definition litho appliqué and emblems manufactured from appropriate fabric, such as 100% polyester twill or micro fiber material, which has been sublimated with a high definition photograph-quality print. The high definition litho appliqué and emblems are cut into the desired shape and optional affixed to a garment. The invention further provides processes for producing the same.

Abstract: A method for fabricating a frameless diving includes the following steps. First, providing a lens; next, coating an adhesive on an edge of the lens; then, forming a first flexible layer made of a silica gel on the edge of the lens; thereafter, forming a second flexible layer made of another silica gel on the first flexible layer. The first flexible layer has a plurality of protrusions and may enables the lens covered with the first flexible layer to be spaced apart from a high-temperature mold for a proper distance, so as to prevent the first flexible layer from falling off from the lens due to the high temperature when molding the silica gel. The protrusions are exposed out of the second flexible layer, so as to vary the design and shape of the frameless diving mask abundantly.

Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to improved water closet flanges and methods for installing such water closet flanges. In one exemplary embodiment, an improved water closet flange apparatus includes a flexible conduit portion (i.e. sleeve) and an integral membrane element sealing the top opening of the flexible sleeve. The membrane element is made of flexible materials such that the membrane element may be removed without breaking into pieces. In one embodiment, the integral membrane element includes indented portions to facilitate its removal. In another embodiment, the flange apparatus includes an outer flange connected to the flexible sleeve. Related methods for installing the disclosed flange apparatus between plumbing fixture discharges and waste drainpipes are also described.

Abstract: In combination with a toilet tank of a toilet in a bathroom, the improvement comprising a dehumidifier having a predetermined shape for one of being wall mounted or disposed on a top of such toilet tank. A humidity sensor is disposed one of on and in the dehumidifier for sensing humidity in such bathroom. A tray member is disposed one of on and in the dehumidifier for collecting water removed from air by such dehumidifier. A flexible member is engageable on a first end thereof with the tray member for removing and transporting such water collected by the dehumidifier and for disposing such water into the toilet tank. There is, also, a power member engageable with the dehumidifier and the humidity sensor for providing electrical power to such apparatus.

Abstract: A commode liner (20) and receptacle (100) design for providing a safe, easy, and affordable way to dispose of human waste from existing commodes. A user of the preferably disposable plastic liner which is constructed of a single sheet of material slips the liner cuffs over the receptacle support thereby opening and retaining the bag open without tucking the bag edges over the rim. To obscure contents and minimize odors, the user lifts the commode toilet seat to access the receptacle, and stacks one of the supports onto the other support into a closed position. Once ready to be discarded, the user can easily lift off the cuffs without coming into contact the liner's soiled areas by slipping their hand into pocket of the cuff. The user can then close the neck of the bag with a variety devices such as twist tie, reverse one of the cuffs over the other so that the exposed potentially soiled areas are turned inward.

Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for retrofitting a body of water with an area of lower depth. A depth reducing support structure, which includes a platform and a platform support, is provided to allow swimmers to sit or stand above the water surface of a body of water after swimming in an area of higher depth. The depth reducing support structure is submerged in a body of water, such as a swimming pool, but is separate from the structure defining the limits of the body of water and, therefore, is moveable relative thereto.

Abstract: A shower curtain and support system employs an elongated rail supported at the shower or tub. The rail extrusion can be an extrusion with an inverted U profile, with an open slot or slots at its base. There are glides, e.g., nylon members with a ball, hemisphere, or other wide head portion and shaft that projects out through the slot from the open interior of the rail. The glides have one or two hook structures for attaching to a fabric curtain and a vinyl curtain liner. In one preferred version, there is a liner hook and spring retaining arm on one side that fits into the grommet at the top of the liner. On the other side is a short arm with a button that fits into a button hole on the cloth or fabric curtain. The curtain has blind button holes or grommets at its upper hem, so that the hook structure, e.g., button, does not show.

The patient interface panel includes a plurality of ports connectable to electrical and pneumatic apparatus.

Abstract: Disclosed is a safety guard that can be easily and temporarily installed upon an existing infant changing table. The guard generally includes a number of lateral supports that can be positioned over the width of the changing table. The distal ends of these supports each include a hinge that permits it to be hooked over the edge of the changing table. The opposite ends of the supports are secured to a netting. With the distal ends secured about the edge of the table, the netting is positioned adjacent the opposite edge at a 90° angle to the table surface. In this position, the guard effectively prevents an infant falling off the side of the table.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a disposable anti-vermin sheet for bedclothes which protects a skin of a user from bacterial infection due to parasitic vermin on the bedclothes and prevents dust from dispersing. The anti-vermin sheet (1) includes a base sheet (2) which is treated through a printing process, a gold or silver plating process, an embossing process or a dyeing process, an antibacterial layer (3) which is applied to a lower surface of the base sheet (2), and an adhesive layer (4) which is applied to a lower surface of the antibacterial layer (3). The anti-vermin sheet further includes a releasable sheet (5) which covers the adhesive layer (4), and a perforated line (6) which is formed to cut the anti-vermin sheet according to an intended purpose.

Abstract: The present invention relates to systems and methods for monitoring patient support exiting and initiating a response. Movement data is accessed from sensors (e.g., cameras) that are monitoring a patient resting on a support platform. A motion capture pattern summary is generated from the accessed movement data. The motion capture pattern summary is compared to one or more movement pattern data sets in a library of movement pattern data sets. It is determined that the motion capture pattern summary is sufficiently similar to one of the one or more movement pattern data sets in the library of movement pattern data sets. From the determined similarity it is determined that the patient is attempting to exit the support platform. Remedial measures are initiated to prevent the detected platform support exiting attempt.

The device helps prevent excessive pre- and post-operative swelling of an extremity by allowing the extremity to heal in a natural elevated resting position.

Abstract: Disclosed is an electromechanical system for minimizing passenger door contact with the Passenger Loading Bridge (PLB) floor and subsequent damage to said door, during passenger loading or off loading. The system, as configured at the Cab entry, senses the proximity of the aircraft door by contacting a sensing pad, attached to the PLB floor. This initiates a sequence of events. 1) Both visual and auditory alarms are initiated to alert the passenger loading agents and/or the bridge operator of a fault. 2) The PLB is moved down and away from the door sufficiently to prevent the PLB floor from coming in contact with the door. The loading agents or PLB operator can then perform the necessary steps to reset the device and continue loading.

This makes it possible for edges of a large number of ridge regions arranged in parallel to each other to function as cleaning edges to clean a surface of an article to be cleaned effectively. Further, since the ridge regions have the predetermined width, an appropriate strength of the ridge regions can be secured to restrain the quantity of compressive deformation of the edge parts by a frictional force during cleaning. Thus, a high cleaning performance can be exhibited.

Abstract: A brush cover is provided with a retention mechanism for releasably securing a brush having a bristle portion on a distal end and an interconnected elongate handle proximal to the bristle portion. The brush cover includes an elongate sleeve having an outer surface, an inner surface, an open proximal end and an open distal end for receiving and withdrawing the brush relative to the elongated sleeve. The elongate sleeve of the brush cover also includes a retention mechanism. The intermittent contact between the handle of the brush and the retention mechanism allows for the brush to be releasably secured within the elongate sleeve.
