Abstract: An improved fishing lure head has an outer shell with a smooth, curved outer surface and a through-hole for passing a leader line therethrough, an interior that is hollow, and a rearward open end leading into a cavity which provides a volume for holding a leading end of a soft plastic lure therein. Preferably, the front end of the shell has a weighted portion with a hole or aperture for passing the leader line therethrough. A soft plastic lure is threaded on a hook and leader line and pulled into the cavity of the shell where it is strongly held by suction forces created by press fitting into the cavity. Retention of the lure in the cavity may be further reinforced by providing a retainer ring at the rearward open end of the shell.

Abstract: Leaders for use in fly fishing are described. The leader is connected between a fly line and a tippet section. In one embodiment, the leader includes a first section of wire connected to the fly line and a second section of polymeric monofilament. The section of wire can be a shape memory alloy or a superelastic alloy. Nitinol is a preferred alloy for use in the wire section of the leader. The section of wire is attached to the second section of polymeric monofilament. One of more sections of wire can be used in the leader. Each of the sections of wire can be tapered. Additionally, one or more sections of polymeric monofilament can be used in the leader. In another embodiment of the present invention, a single section or multiple sections of wire, preferably shape memory alloy wire or superelastic alloy wire, can be used. The wire leader is able to store mechanical energy generated by the cast allowing the leader to function as intended with greater frequency.

Abstract: A method for the production of biofuels from the open ocean comprises the steps: testing the currents to determine that a biomass remains in a zone suitable for harvesting; harvesting a portion of the biomass; and processing a portion of the harvested biomass to produce useful components of biofuels. An improved method of production of a biofuel comprises the additional steps of testing the ocean surface waters to determine any nutrients that are missing, and applying a fertilizer with any missing nutrients. The currents should be such that the biomass created stays in the ocean waters suitable for harvest rather than washed up on shores, or dispersed to other areas of the ocean. Suitable currents include ocean gyres such as the Sargasso Sea. Suitable biomass includes seaweeds that float in the open ocean and aggregate together in floating patches, such as the Sargassum weed in the Sargasso Sea.

Abstract: A method for forming polycrystalline grits can include forming an abrasive dough, including a plurality of abrasive particles, into a sheet. The sheet can be divided into a plurality of abrasive precursors. By placing the sheet on a stretchable surface, separations among the plurality of abrasive precursors can be revealed by stretching the stretchable surface. The stretchable surface can include a particulate separating agent, and additional particulate separating agent can be distributed in the separations. The abrasive precursors can be sintered to form polycrystalline grits.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for locating building equipment such as HVAC systems, electrical lines, gas lines, water lines, IT lines and the like which is located above the ceilings, behind the walls, or under the floors of a building is presented. According to the invention, the walls, ceilings, or floors that cover building equipment are marked with an invisible marking material. When the location of a particular piece of equipment is required, the previously marked wall is illuminated with a remote apparatus designed to read the invisible markings, thereby identifying the equipment location. The marking material can be any commercially available invisible material that is suitable for such use. The illumination apparatus can be any device which is capable of displaying the marking material. For non-limiting example, an infra-red readable material can be used with a remote apparatus, such as a flashlight, equipped with an infra-red identifying wavelength light.
