  • Publication number: 20090159737
Abstract: A tool and method for winding and forming a field coil for field assembly, such as a stator, includes separable tool halves defining a winding cavity therebetween. The winding cavity receives magnet wire that is wound therein, such as by rotating the tool or a winding nozzle. The magnet wire generally conforms to the shape of the winding cavity such that when the tool halves are separated, a field coil having a net shape is produced. Once the magnet wire is sufficiently deposited within the winding cavity, wires of the coil may be bonded together either through a resistive heating process such as by passing an electrical current through the coil or through other heating or chemical bonding methods to thereby maintain the net shape of the field coil once it is removed from the tool.

Abstract: A drip pan apparatus for a “M” model BLACK HAWK® helicopter and the like includes an expanded corner structure for accommodating an access port also positioned further outwardly in the corner than in prior drip pan apparatuses, facilitating filter viewing while retaining peripheral o-ring seal. An expanded corner of the airframe skirt is accommodated by the expanded corresponding corner of a frame, which also defines a small radius internal curve. The removable pan has a small radius curve cooperating with the small radius curve of the frame and is sealed thereto by the peripheral o-ring seal sealing the entire pan to the frame. Physical access to the filter is enhanced.

  • Publication number: 20090159740
Abstract: A dual, coaxial rotor helicopter is provided that is relatively easy to fly. Thrust is provided by two ducted fans that are mounted at the rear of the aircraft and spaced apart laterally. Differential thrust generated by the fans provides yaw control for the aircraft, and forward thrust is provided by the fans working in combination. The coaxial rotors are preferably utilized primarily for lift, and not for forward thrust, which simplifies the control requirements. The coaxial rotor with ducted fan configuration also results in lower vibratory loads being imposed on the helicopter, thereby increasing its speed capability. The fan ducts serve to protect the fans, augment the fan thrust at low airspeeds, increase the efficiency of the fans at cruise speeds, and provide horizontal and vertical stabilizing surfaces to ensure aircraft flight stability.

Abstract: It is essentially applicable to a horizontal stabilizer that includes two side symmetrical boxes that converge at one end (its root) thereof in a shared center area in order to connect integrally in said central area. It is characterized in that both boxes connect by means of a single part that constitutes a center rib with a double T-shaped profile. The root of the side boxes overlap converging on the inside surfaces of the wings of the center rib. The connection is ensured with rivets (lap joint). The proposed connecting means simplifies the assembly process (single part) and lead to a weight reduction since that a carbon fiber connecting rib can be used.

  • Publication number: 20090159749
Abstract: A connector element for connecting two component parts which can be for example a fuselage skin which is connected to a ring frame segment. Alternatively the connector element can also serve as a frame coupling for connecting two ring frame segments. The component parts can be formed with the same materials or with different materials. According to the disclosed embodiments the connector element in the ideal case completely compensates a temperature-conditioned change in length of at least one of the component parts by varying a connector element length of the connector elements. Thus two component parts can be connected together with different materials such as for example a fuselage skin 6 of an aluminium alloy to a ring frame segment which is formed by carbon fibre reinforced epoxy resin. The different coefficients of thermal expansion in this design lead to different changes in length of the component parts which are compensated by a corresponding variation in the length of the connector element.

Abstract: A mold assembly includes a bottom mold having a plurality of concavities defined therein and a top mold which includes a recess defined in an underside thereof so that the bottom mold is engaged with the recess. The length of the recess between two insides is less than a length of the bottom mold so that the bottom mold is snugly engaged with the recess by proper scalability of the metal material of the top and bottom molds. A plurality of through holes are defined through the top mold and located corresponding to the concavities. Forming material is pouted into the concavities via the through holes.

Abstract: Layered structures such as photosensing arrays include layers in which charge carriers can be transported. For example, a carrier-transporting substructure that includes a solution processing artifact can transport charge carriers that flow to or from it through charge-flow surface parts that are on electrically conductive regions of a circuitry substructure; the circuitry substructure can also have channel surface parts that are on semiconductive channel regions, with a set of the channel regions operating as acceptable switches in an application. Or a first substructure's surface can have carrier-active surface parts on electrode regions and line surface parts on line regions; a second substructure can include a transport layer on carrier-active surface parts and, over it, an electrically conductive layer; to prevent leakage, an open region can be defined in the electrically conductive layer over the line surface part and/or an electrically insulating layer portion can cover the line surface part.
