Abstract: An arrangement for the cooling of computer data centers. More particularly, the arrangement eliminates the problems present in the uneven or inadequate cooling of computer racks due to unwanted airflows, which are encountered between so-called hot aisles and cold aisles present in a computer data center. Specifically, this problem is solved through the provision of partitions which, under normal circumstances, prevent the unwanted airflows by standing in a vertical orientation, yet which, in the event of a fire, collapse from the vertical orientation to a horizontal orientation, thereby avoiding interference with water sprays from sprinkler heads, and thus complying with fire codes and ordinances. Moreover, also employed is a method of preventing the unwanted air flows by utilization of the novel arrangement comprising the fire-code-compatible, collapsible partitions.

Abstract: Packaging systems for storing ophthalmic devices such as contact lenses and to methods for packaging such ophthalmic devices with solutions to improve the comfort of the lenses during wear are disclosed. A packaging system includes an ophthalmic device stored in an aqueous packaging solution comprising a substantially water-soluble silicone-containing surfactant. Such solutions are retained on the surface of an unused lens for extended periods of time, resulting in surface modification that persists in the eye, which may provide significant improvement in the wetting properties of fresh contact lenses used for the first time and, moreover, even several hours after lens insertion, preventing dryness and improving lubricity.

Abstract: A bag forming and packaging machine for packaging a product using a roll of packaging material including a recording medium that readably records packaging related information. The bag forming and packaging machine includes a non-contact reading device that reads the packaging related information electromagnetically recorded in the recording medium in a non-contact fashion through a resonance phenomenon of radio waves; and a bag forming and packaging unit that produces a bag using the packaging material of the roll and packages the product in the bag based on the packaging related information read by the reading device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an aseptic pouch (1) for packaging food products, comprising two walls which are bonded together so as to define an internal space (2) which is sterilized and hermetically closed. The pouch (1) further comprises at least one sealing (7; 12) which joins together said walls, extending between opposite sides (5, 6) of the pouch, (1) and defines a neck portion (8) of said internal space (2) and two border portions (9) external to said internal space. Said neck portion (8) is suitable for providing, after opening of the pouch (1), an access to said internal space (2) and said border portions (9) are suitable for providing grips for handling said pouch. The invention also relates to a method for packaging a food product in said aseptic pouch (1).

Abstract: A method for containerlessly packaging non-woven safety garments to minimize particulate shedding, including at least partially filling a pressing cavity of a orthorhombic parallelepiped shape with compressible, non-woven safety garments, applying isostatic pressure to the cavity to compact the garments into a compressed mass, wrapping the compressed mass and removing the compressed mass from the cavity. The wrapped compressed mass retains a substantially rectangularly parallelepiped shape and is substantially free of loose particulate matter.

Abstract: A shredder device, in particular for agricultural machines, comprises a bearing structure, able to be stably associated with a drive machine and defining, in cooperation with the ground, a cutting chamber, at least a rotor rotatable around an axis of rotation, assembled on said bearing structure and housed inside said cutting chamber, a plurality of blades, supported on said at least one rotor and extending away from the axis of rotation of said rotor to intercept and shred material deposited on the ground. Each of said blades is rigidly constrained and in a stable position on said rotor. The shredding action is improved thanks to the use of counter-blades, assembled in a fixed position on said bearing structure and each one operatively associated with a respective blade so as to generate a scissor-like shredding action on the material to be shredded.

Abstract: A composite hemp and cotton yarn is formed by blending hemp fibers with cotton fibers which have been regenerated from waste cotton material such as trimmings and cuttings from the apparel manufacturing industry. The fibers are cleaned and blended, then carded to align the fibers into strands. Depending on the size and texture of the desired yarn, the fibers are stretched and drawn into slivers prior to spinning to join the fibers together. The hemp fibers are up to three time longer than the regenerated cotton fibers, so that the hemp fibers overlap and braid onto the regenerated cotton fibers during spinning. The resultant yarn is stronger and more absorbent than yarns made solely out of regenerated cotton fibers or a blend of cotton and acrylic or cotton and polyester fibers.

Abstract: A composite polyester and cotton yarn is formed by blending polyester fibers with cotton fibers which have been regenerated from waste cotton material such as trimmings and cuttings from the apparel manufacturing industry. The fibers are cleaned and blended, then carded to align the fibers into strands. Depending on the size and texture of the desired yarn, the fibers are stretched and drawn into slivers prior to spinning to join the fibers together. The polyester fibers are preferably recycled polyethylene terephthalate fibers which are up to three time longer than the regenerated cotton fibers, so that the polyethylene terephthalate fibers overlap and braid onto the regenerated cotton fibers during spinning. The resultant yarn is stronger and more absorbent than yarns made solely out of regenerated cotton fibers. The yarn is suitable for producing woven or knit fabric for the production of colorful and functional clothing and home textiles without the need for further bleaching or dyeing.
