Abstract: An automatic locking system includes a magnetic sensor and a magnet. The magnetic sensor sends a signal if the proximity to the magnet equals or is less than a predetermined distance. A controller drives a motor to extend a throw bolt in response to receiving the signal from the magnetic sensor. An electronic deadbolt includes the automatic locking system. The magnetic sensor is arranged in a deadbolt assembly inside the door on which the electronic deadbolt is arranged, and the magnet is arranged in or adjacent to a strike lining box on the door frame so the automatic locking system is hidden from view. An electronic deadbolt includes a master function that may be activated or deactivated by a user. If the master function is activated, a master passcode and master tag may be used to operate the electronic deadbolt and access programming buttons.

Abstract: Repeatable bending angle apparatus incorporated into existing manually or pneumatically operated metal stock bending apparatus permits making a number of successive bends of metal stock having similar characteristics. A disk is rotatably mounted below the bending apparatus bending arm with its center located at the bending arm axis. The disk can be rotated and locked at any bending angle. In a first embodiment, using manual bending power, an upward extension from the disk into the bending arm path provides a stop for successive bends at identical angles. Second and third embodiments use pneumatic power. The second embodiment utilizes a spring loaded insert from the stop to give the operator an indication of where to stop the apparatus at the desired angle before the disk will be rotated by the bending arm bearing against the stop.

Abstract: The invention provides a method of designing shaping tools for metal containers (such as metal bottles) to minimize the formation of visible transition lines or ripples conventionally produced in such procedures as die necking and outward flaring. The method involves carefully measuring differences between an actual shape produced and a design shape resulting from an original set of shaping tools. The tools are then refined in design to take into account metal spring back and the effect of one shaping stage on the results of previous stages. The redesign goes through several iterations to ensure that each change produces an improvement of the formed container. In this way, the formation of transition lines can be minimized because the actual shape of the container more closely resembles the smooth design shape. Dies designed in this way are then used for commercial shaping operations.

The blanks are shaped or contoured in such a way that mutual adhesion between the blanks of a nested stack of such blanks can be broken, thus facilitating the delivery of individual blanks from the stack. The shaping of the blanks is effective to cause the blanks to separate from each other or to tilt mutually by a small distance when one blank is moved at approximately right angles to the stack. This allows ingress of air between the blanks that eliminates the mutual adhesion.

This may affect, for example, a propagation velocity of acoustic waves in the sensor and/or a resonant frequency of the sensor. The sensing layer includes a combination of polyaniline and carbonic anhydrase. The combination of polyaniline and carbonic anhydrase could be formed using an emeraldine base. For instance, an aniline can be dissolved in water to form a mixture, and hydrochloric acid and an oxidant can be added to the mixture. A chemical polymerization of the aniline in the mixture can be performed to form polyanilne.

Abstract: Generally speaking, the method of the present invention is performed by making various ultrasonic scans at preselected orientations along the length of a material being tested. Data from the scans are then plotted together with various calculated parameters that are calculated from this data. Lines or curves are then fitted to the respective plotted points. Review of these plotted curves allows the location and severity of defects within these sections to be determined and quantified. With this information various other decisions related to how, when or whether repair or replacement of a particular portion of a structure can be made.

Abstract: A filter upstream-side pressure sensor detects the pressure on an upstream side of a filter. A filter downstream-side pressure calculating device subtracts an actual measurement value of the pressure difference between the upstream side and the downstream side of the filter from a pressure value on the upstream side of the filter. Based on this subtraction, the filter downstream-side pressure calculating device calculates a pressure value on the downstream side of the filter. A filter downstream-side pressure estimating device estimates a pressure value on the downstream side of the filter. An abnormality detection device compares the difference between the calculated pressure value and the estimated pressure value with a threshold. If the difference exceeds the threshold, it is determined that at least one of a differential pressure sensor and the filter upstream-side pressure sensor is not working normally.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a magnetic flow controller which transforms a slow reduction in pressure of fluid flow over time to a measurable fluid flow. Once a threshold pressure differential is reached, a flow passage through the flow controller opens rapidly to a relatively large opening, thereby generating a volume of fluid at high flux flowing through the passage, particularly to permit the measurement of the volume of fluid in a conventional flow meter. The device of the present invention integrates this low flux and transforms it to a measurable fluid flux, so that the fluid can be measured by the fluid meter within its optimum error range. This is accomplished while maintaining a pressure drop in the flow meter which is within the permitted standards. Thus, the invention provides relatively sharp shifts between substantially high flux flow and no flow, in a pulse-like manner.
