Abstract: An earring that is convertible to a bracelet and vice versa is provided. The design comprises a chain of any type with magnetic clasps affixed at either end. Each earring may be attached to a person's ear lobe by using the magnetic elements in each clasp—the magnet elements attract one another when each clasp is fixed on either side of the earlobe. Alternatively, the two earrings can be coupled together in order to form a bracelet. Corresponding clasps from each of the earrings are mated together (via their internal magnets) in order to form a pair of decorative globes.

Abstract: In a razor having a handle and a blade cartridge containing one or more blades, a system is provided for selectively heating the blades to a controlled temperature range. The blade heating system includes an electric circuit with a battery power source for controlled direction of current flow through the one or more blades in order to heat the blades. The electric circuit further includes an on/off switch, a visual indicator for indicating on/off status, a heat controller for selectively adjusting the temperature of the blades, and an automatic turn off switch for opening the circuit after an elapsed period for preserving battery life. In one embodiment, all of the components of the electric circuit are housed on the blade cartridge, with the battery power source, switches and heat controller contained within a waterproof casing.

Abstract: The present invention is a blade cartridge for use in a shaving razor having a handle. The blade cartridge has a housing having a front, a rear, opposite upper and lower sides and opposite first and second ends. An elongated guard is formed on the front of the housing adjacent the lower side and extends between the first and second ends. A header is formed on the housing adjacent the upper side and extends between the first and second ends. At least one blade having a cutting edge is supported in the housing between the guard and the header with the cutting edge exposed on the front and extending between the first and second ends. An elongated channel is formed on the housing between the cutting edge and the guard and extends across the housing between the first and second ends. The channel has an elongated opening which separates the cutting edge from the guard. The channel also has opposite first and second side openings formed on the first and second ends of the housing, respectively.

Abstract: The cable sheath splitter has an elongate body forming a lower portion handgrip and an upper portion tool structure. An end cap is rotatably attached to lower end of the handgrip. An elongate arcuate hand guard member extends from an edge of the end cap. A cutting blade is depth adjustable and extends laterally from the tool structure. A pair of rollers disposed in the tool structure outwardly extend from the structure on opposite sides of the blade. A pair of adjustable cable guide arms forms a claw that extends from the tool structure. The claw is rotatable and may also have at least two rotatably lockable positions. The claw when configured according to either of the rotatably lockable arm positions, guides the cable along a path that contacts the blade to cut the cable sheath.

Abstract: Bar tenders and waitresses serve lemon with a beverage. There has been at least one case of polluted lemon wedges attributed to handling and numerous other cases of undesirable service. The present invention features a salutary utensil for serving a lemon wedge without touching it. It is a lemon fork. It has tines and a slot at some angle to the tines. A server can fork a lemon wedge. Then orient the slot downward and place it on a glass. It is easy to use. It can be molded, machined or stamped.

Abstract: A utility knife multi-tool carries a razor blade as a primary cutting blade. The tool has a handle and a blade. The blade has a flat body with an edge and a flat, each of which have grooves cut therein to provide file, rasp or saw functionality for the blade. The forward end of the blade is pointed and carries a razor blade. The multi-tool has a handle with a striking cap at an end thereof and can have a storage tray for holding at least one spare cutting blade and a folding blade with a blade lock mechanism in the handle to releasably lock the blade in operating position.

Abstract: A knife is described that is capable of extending a blade from a front end of the blade, and subsequently retracting the blade into the body of the knife. Actuation of the blade from extended to retracted conditions is accomplished by way of an actuation element located external to the knife. A user may strike the knife backwards onto a work surface to extend the blade and, subsequently, to retract the blade. The same action by the user may be used to achieve the extended and the retracted blade condition.

Abstract: A guided utility knife that alternates between a carton tray cutter and a conventional utility knife is provided herewith. The knife comprises two rotatable guide portions that are hingedly attached to the housing. Each guide portion flips laterally, away from the cutting blade from its unfolded position to its folded position. Each guide portion further occupies a channel on the exterior surface of the housing. Magnets are provided in the housing to secure the guide portions in both the folded and unfolded positions.

Abstract: An instrument having two branches such as a pair of scissors, or the like. The two branches thereof are connected with a coupling element, which is attached to one of the branches and extends through a hole in the other branch. The coupling element has a locking body situated on the outside of the other branch. Both the locking body and the hole are out of round so that the locking body can be brought through the hole in a certain angular position but not in another. According to the invention, the coupling element is screwed into the first branch. Furthermore, the locking body has a shape that is adapted in such a way to the shape of the hole that the coupling element can be turned by means of the second branch.

Abstract: The present application is directed to a knife locker and sanitizing system consisting of a unique combination of one or more knife storage lockers that can individually be locked with a pad lock by the person using that set of knives. The incorporation of a locking bar that is attached to the knife locker by the means of a locking fixture and having a separate padlock facilitates a means where by a knife maintenance employee can open all the locker doors at one time to service the knives. Adjacent to the knife lockers will be located a sanitizing chamber where the knife blades and handles along with other food processing implements can be immersed in a sanitizing liquid. An alternate embodiment of the sanitizing chamber will incorporate ultraviolet lights on either side of the unit for the sanitizing process, enabling the ultraviolet light to not only disinfect the implement blades, but also the handles.

The apparatus comprises a pantograph for controlling the tool, the pantograph having a range of motion to accommodate different size objects. The system is operable to receive a data feed and control the tool on the basis of the data feed. The system preferably comprises a computer with a computer program including an algorithm for controlling tool contact and pressure and an algorithm for controlling the tool trajectory. The present invention is implemented as an improved realtime remote robotic writing system, having improved capabilities for writing on different media such as books of varying size and thicknesses.

Abstract: An apparatus for measuring a surface of a workpiece is described. The apparatus comprises a support, attachable to the moveable arm of a machine, such as a coordinate positioning machine, and rotatable about first and second axes of rotation, the axes driven by first and second motors respectively. The apparatus additionally comprises a surface sensing device for sensing the surface of a workpiece, rotatable about a third axis of rotation. This third axis of rotation is alignable with the first axis of rotation, and when aligned, rotation of the support relative to the surface sensing device is actuatable by the first motor. A method for using an apparatus for measuring a surface of a workpiece is also described.

Abstract: A clothes-treating apparatus is disclosed. According to the clothes treating apparatus, it is easy and convenient for a worker to have access to a mechanism compartment for maintenance and repair of the components. In addition, if the user chooses an easier method of accessing the components of the clothes treating apparatus the maintenance repair costs may be lowered. Furthermore, it is easy for a worker to remove and replace the components of the mechanism compartment. In addition, according to the clothes treating apparatus, the assembly line of the mechanism compartment may be separate from an assembly line of the clothes treating apparatus, which may enhance work efficiency.

Abstract: A drying apparatus and method are disclosed. The drying apparatus includes a drying compartment and a heating device that heats air to be provided to the compartment. The heating device includes a coil through which is conducted a heated liquid, and the air is heated as it passes along the coil. The heated liquid can be provided from a source internal or external to the drying apparatus and in at least some embodiments is heated water provided from a hydronic heating device located internal to the drying apparatus. In at least some embodiments, the heated air provided through the drying compartment is returned to the heating device and recirculated through the compartment. In at least some of these embodiments, the heated air emanating from the drying compartment passes through a condensing device that removes moisture from the air before it is returned to the heating device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a functional hair dryer, which sufficiently utilizes heat emitted by a heater, such as a heater lamp, thus improving thermal efficiency, and eliminating harm occurring during the use of the hair dryer, and which prevents damage, such as the bursting of the heater, thus extending the lifespan of the hair dryer. The functional hair dryer of the present invention includes a main body (10) of the hair dryer having an air outlet (12) formed on a front thereof, and a heater (20) included in the main body (10), a blower being disposed behind the heater (20). The heater (20) includes a center connection portion (22), and a pair of inclined extension portions (24), which extend from both ends of the connection portion (22) to be inclined while extending away from each other toward front ends of the inclined extension portions (24).

Abstract: This invention discloses systems and methods for conversion of high moisture waste materials to dry or low moisture products for recycle or reuse. The equipment systems comprise a gas turbine generator unit (preferred heat source), a dryer vessel and a processing unit, wherein the connection between the gas turbine and the dryer vessel directs substantially all the gas turbine exhaust into the dryer vessel and substantially precludes the introduction of air into the dryer vessel and wherein the processing unit forms the dried material from the dryer vessel into granules, pellets or other desired form for the final product. Optionally, the systems and methods further provide for processing ventilation air from manufacturing facilities to reduce emissions therefrom.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for removing lint from air that is discharged from a clothes dryer uses a lint filtration housing mounted on the frame of the clothes dryer, the filtration housing having an interior that contains a filter for removing lint from the dryer exhaust air flow stream. The housing provides an influent fitting for transmitting heating exhaust air from the drying chamber to the housing interior. An ambient air supply enables ambient air to be added to the filtration housing interior. One or more vanes is provided that create an annular vortex within the filtration housing interior. The flow of the annular vortex within the filtration housing interior can be between about 500 and 3,000 cubic feet per second. A flow line transmits pre-heated air from the filtration housing interior to the dryer interior.

The illusionary light source device further includes a partial-light-blocking layer. The partial-light-blocking layer also can partially block and partially transmit the light from the light emitting unit. The partial-light-blocking layer is disposed between the light emitting unit and the picture layer. Light is emitted through the partial-light-blocking layer and then presented on the picture layer. By the relative motion between any two of the light emitting unit, the partial-light-blocking layer and the picture layer, the picture layer presents a wonderful light show.

Abstract: A flag warning system is paramount because it increases the safety of a dock-loading area. Often times, workers and machinery are moving in and out of trailers to either load or load trailers, and it is important to insure that the truck is not moved inadvertently, thereby preventing damage to individuals and equipment. This is a simple dock warning system that will alert the driver by simply rotating a flag so that the flag is either visible or not visible to alert the driver to move or not move the trailer. When the flag is visible to the driver when he or she looks in the rearview mirror, the load is safe to be pulled. If the driver does not see the flag, he or she should not pull the load.

Abstract: The invention is an improved load bearing arrangement for use with firearms. The system comprises a cylindrical body with a sealing cap, mounting structure on the body including a plurality of mounting tabs and a “T” rail with matching structure on the stock. The mounting tabs are only partially fastened on the body so as to form hooks which will secure the body from behind the structure on the stock. The “T” rail interfaces with a corresponding notch on the rear of the stock and is secured with the stock's butt pad. A water-tight cap is also provided, which is also capable of removal and replacement without removing the remaining structure from the stock.

A main body shaped like a cone oval, round or cylindrical shaped is slid able along a fishing line, placed on a fishing line and above a fishing bobber or lure. A second part of the fishing line stop in the form of a prettied knot, string or rubber band encircles the main body completing a fishing line stop assembly. A fishing line from a fishing pole is inserted into and through the main body and the knot is release from the main body and onto the fishing line toward the fishing pole. The knot is secured firmly on the fishing line to determined the fishing depth. The main body of the fishing line stop assembly slides freely along the fishing line and is located above the bobber or lure and below the secured knot on the fishing line.

The head comprises four hemispheres, a top hemisphere, and an opposing bottom hemisphere, wherein the top and bottom hemispheres are divided by a first plane, and a front hemisphere, and an opposing back hemisphere wherein the front and back hemispheres are divided by a second plane. The head has a recess in the top hemisphere. The head also comprises a fishing hook having an eye, a body, and a hook portion. The fishing hook is integral to the head, such that the eye is exposed in the head recess. The recess is sized such that the eye is flush with the head surface, or slightly recessed therefrom, and further such that there is room around the eye such that a fishing line may be secured to the eye. The hook portion is on the same side of the first plane as the eye.

Abstract: A unified swivel snap device provides optional rotational motion for use as fishing tackle to couple lures, bait hooks, and weights to a main fishing line. Embodiments include a rod rotatably held within a housing and a snap configured to lock the swivel by attaching to both the housing and the rod. Embodiments of the swivel can be unlocked by attaching the snap to the rod alone and allowing the rod to swivel relative to the housing. The swivel snap can be used for enhancing a variety of fishing mechanisms including the shank of jigs and the spindle of lures and other apparatus attached to fishing lines. Embodiments of the locking swivel snap can be used in other applications which call for selective locking of swivel motion.

The method includes the steps of reacting in a single reactor an aqueous solution of a biomass-derived, water-soluble oxygenated hydrocarbon reactant, in the presence of a catalyst comprising a metal selected from the group consisting of Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Mo, Tc, Ru, Rh, Pd, Ag, W, Re, Os, Ir, Pt, and Au, at a temperature, and a pressure, and for a time sufficient to yield a self-separating, three-phase product stream comprising a vapor phase, an organic phase containing linear and/or cyclic mono-oxygenated hydrocarbons, and an aqueous phase.
