  • Patent number: 7625225
Abstract: A lever is attached to a connector housing in a rotatable manner. This lever includes a pair of arm plates having rotation supporting points at one ends and a connection bar linking the other ends of the arm plates. This lever has a substantially U-like shape. According to this lever, when one ends of the pair of arm plates are opened to the outer sides, the rotation supporting point of the lever is attached, in a rotatable manner, to a rotation supporting pivot of the outer face of the connector housing. By this structure, the lever is rotated for operation to realize a cam action to assist the connectors to be fitted to each other and to be disengaged from one another. According to this lever-type connector, the lever is attached to the connector housing, and subsequently the connection between the arm plates at a position closer to the rotation supporting point of the lever than to the connection bar is provided as a link member linking the arm plates.

  • Patent number: 7625226
Abstract: A connector that has a coupling nut (14) that is rotatable about a barrel (12), with an annular space (42) between them, and with a resistance ring (40) lying in the annular space. The resistance ring allows the nut to rotate with moderate friction in a mating direction M, and provides higher resistance to nut rotation in an unmating direction U. The resistance ring is formed from a metal band with primarily straight band sections (60, 62, 64, 66) that alternately extend at inward and outward inclines from the circumference direction C. As a result, the resistance ring zig-zags by alternately engaging the nut surface (52) that faces the annular space, then the barrel surface (50) that faces the annular space, etc. Some of the radially outer ends of the straight sections are bent into small half circles (67) that fit into corresponding slots (68) in the nut to fix the resistance ring relative to the nut.

  • Patent number: 7625256
Abstract: The outboard engine flushing system frees the boater from need to lean out beyond the boat transom to access the conventional engine cooling flush components. The system includes a Y hose connector attached to the conventional inlet fitting beneath the engine cowling, and a forwardly extending flexible tube attached to another leg of the Y connector. The conventional return line normally connected to the cowl bottom inlet fitting is connected to the remaining leg of the Y connector. A shutoff valve is provided at the forward end of the flexible tube. To flush the cooling system of the engine, the boater connects a conventional water hose to the forward end of the flexible tube extending from the Y connector, opens the valve, and turns on the water. When flushing is complete, the shutoff valve is closed and the water hose disconnected to ready the boat and engine for further operation.

  • Patent number: 7625257
Abstract: An outboard motor is provided with an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system that provides a heat exchanger which reduces the temperature of the exhaust gas prior to introducing the exhaust gas to the cylinders of the engine. The heat exchanger can be integral to the engine, particularly the cylinder head of the engine, or it can be disposed outside the structure of the engine. When disposed outside the structure of the engine, the heat exchanger can comprise a tubular structure that causes exhaust gas and water, from the body of water, to flow in thermal communication with each other. Alternatively, the heat exchanger which is disposed outside the structure of the engine can use a cavity within the driveshaft housing as a heat exchanger with water being sprayed into the stream of exhaust gas as it passes from the engine to the cavity.

Abstract: A lamp electrode adapted to deliver mercury during an assembly process has a supporting electrical lead attached to the proximal end of a metallic shell. The proximal and a distal ends of the metallic shell each lie along a central axis. A container with a vitreous plug in a sealed end contains a substance for delivering mercury upon heating of the container. The sidewall of the container is attached to the electrical lead. The longitudinal axis of the container is skewed relative to the electrical lead to orient the container in a direction to reduce discharge of mercury directly toward the metallic shell. The container is heated to open it and discharge a mercury dose from the sealed, end, which is prone to opening upon heating of the container.

  • Patent number: 7625260
Abstract: A glass panel assembly sealing method and sealing process furnace used therewith wherein coordinated control of temperature and pressure enables the removal of impure gas and the like from the glass panel assembly and reduces the amount of residual impure gas and the like remaining in the glass panel assembly after the sealing process is complete. A seal frit is applied between two mutually overlaid glass substrates comprising a glass panel assembly. The internal temperature of the glass panel assembly is raised, through a forcefully circulated environment, to a preliminary temperature T1 which is near the initial melting temperature of the seal frit. The pressure (P1) of the internal environment is then reduced while the preliminary temperature is maintained. The temperature is then increased from the preliminary temperature up to the sealing temperature T2 by the forcefully circulated environment, after which the glass panel assembly is cooled by the forceful circulated environment.
