  • Patent number: 7731132
Abstract: An interactive fluid tube stabilization device for an intravenous feeding tube is formed of an acrylic material that has a cylindrical shape. A lengthwise slit forms two overlapping sides for the device that can be manually spread apart to fit over and clamp onto the top bed rail of a hospital bed. A flap formed in the side of the device that is opposite to the slit has an arcuate end and a fold line spaced from the end through a distance that is greater than the diameter of the intravenous feeding tube. When the arcuate end is bent toward the top of the bed rail, it forms a gap that accommodates the feeding tube between the device and the flap, enabling most of the drag applied by the feeding tube to be borne by the device and to permit relatively free movement of the tube transverse to the bed rail to accommodate the movement of the patient.

  • Patent number: 7731134
Abstract: An apparatus or bag stand has at least one elongated bail having a pair of oppositely extending ears at each end for supporting and holding open a bag. An elongated slot is defined at least in part by the bail and co-extends therewith. Preferably, a support base elevates the bail in a substantially horizontal position allowing the bag to drape generally freely and downward from the bail. An external face of the bag contacts the portion of the support base that generally defines in part the slot as a portion of a continuous peripheral edge of the bag extrudes through the slot. The extruded portion of the peripheral edge is generally flipped or overturned about the bail and preferably tucked behind the ears so that an internal face of the bag is in contact with and generally encompasses the bail.

  • Patent number: 7731146
Abstract: An in-line node locking mechanism for supporting and locking a node within a rack system such forces applied on a node by the node locking mechanism generate consistent output forces. The in-line node locking mechanism utilizes dual swivel nuts and an in-line loading arrangement that evenly distributes forces along the length of a rail system to create evenly distributed forces and avoid the creation of stress points. An actuating screw causes the node locking mechanism to adjust between unlocked and locked positions. In the unlocked position, the mechanism causes the node to be lowered and move freely along the in-line rail system. In the locked position the mechanism causes the node to securely abut the rack system thereby locking the node within the rack system.

  • Patent number: 7731168
Abstract: An aligning unit is provided with a tray having a placing surface on which sheet-like transfer materials discharged with printing applied thereto are held stacked, a first restricting member movable back and forth along an advancing direction of the transfer material being discharged onto the tray while facing the front end of the transfer material with respect to the advancing direction, and a second restricting member for defining the rear end position of the transfer material with respect to the advancing direction. The transfer materials stacked on the tray are aligned by the first restricting member being moved back and forth along the advancing direction. The first restricting member includes a contact surface extending substantially vertically above the placing surface of the tray, and an inclined surface extending from the contact surface toward the placing surface and inclined downward along a direction opposite to the advancing direction.

  • Patent number: 7731169
Abstract: Sheet finishing apparatus constructed to prevent sheet skewing during stacking conveyance, and stack-disarranging sheet slippage. A sheet-stacking tray is disposed forming a break in a discharge path below a discharge outlet. A first discharge roller unit is disposed at the discharge outlet, and a second discharge roller unit is arranged to convey, in cooperation with the first discharge roller unit, sheets downstream to the stacking tray. The second discharge roller unit is supported allowing it to rise and lower between an engage position where it catches sheet(s) on the storage tray, and a retracted position. A registering wall is provided in the stacking tray, for positionally registering the leading/trailing edge of the sheets. A gripper pressingly holds the uppermost sheet stacked on the storage tray, and a controller controls the movement of the gripper between an operational position where it engages the uppermost sheet, and a non-operational retract position.

  • Patent number: 7731172
Abstract: A system that prevents the engagement of an intermediate gear and a driven gear from releasing due to a force from the driven gear without increasing an arrangement angle is described. A surface receiving a load acting on a rotation axis of a second groove that is used as an axle bearing formed on the side of a second gear part that engages with a driven gear is made to be an inclined receiving part. The second receiving surface touches the rotation axis of the second groove part. The surfaces are arranged such that the distance from the center of rotation of the driving gear increases as it moves away from the driven gear. By this arrangement, the inclined receiving part creates a force in the opposite direction of the direction to release the intermediate gear from the driven gear that acts upon the rotation axis as the counteraction of the force that acts on the rotation axis, so the intermediate gear does not separate from the driven gear.
