Abstract: Combustible material is supplied to the reaction zone, continuously or in pulses, which the reaction zone is separated from the surrounding atmosphere, and combustible material gradually moves through the reaction zone to the reaction zone outlet, in the same direction as released gases leave the combustible material. The reaction zone is heated to the temperature, the value of which is increasing in the direction to the reaction zone outlet, however, to 12000 C as a maximum. Then, released gases are draught off separately from non-gasified residue. As an advantage, steam and/or water is supplied to combustible material and the combustible material previously charged into the reaction zone moves by acting of subsequently supplied combustible material, where the combustible material is being compressed. The equipment for pyrolytic conversion comprises one filling device (1), reactor (2) comprising the reaction zone (5), at least one heater (3, 13), and hopper (4) for non-gasified residue (8).

Abstract: An ion source that utilizes exited and/or atomic gas injection is disclosed. In an ion beam application, the source gas can be used directly, as it is traditionally supplied. Alternatively or additionally, the source gas can be altered by passing it through a remote plasma source prior to being introduced to the ion source chamber. This can be used to create excited neutrals, heavy ions, metastable molecules or multiply charged ions. In another embodiment, multiple gasses are used, where one or more of the gasses are passed through a remote plasma generator. In certain embodiments, the gasses are combined in a single plasma generator before being supplied to the ion source chamber. In plasma immersion applications, plasma is injected into the process chamber through one or more additional gas injection locations. These injection locations allow the influx of additional plasma, produced by remote plasma sources external to the process chamber.

In one embodiment of the invention, a back protection film is sputter deposited onto the entire back side of the substrate in a first deposition station without transferring heat from the substrate. Next, a first front film is sputter deposited in a second deposition station to partially cover the front side of the substrate while heat is transferred from substrate by a cooling surface of a cooling mechanism in the second deposition station. The second film does not cover the edges of the substrate to avoid contaminating the cooling surface with the depositing material. Abstract: Produced and flowback fluids, and other fluids emanating from oil, mining, and mineral extraction operations, are treated to remove heavy metals by introducing an oxidizing agent and passing the fluid through an electrocoagulator. A cavitation device is used to intensify the oxidation reactions. Coalesced bodies made in the electrocoagulator, including heavy metals such as iron rendered insoluble by elevation of their oxidation states, are separated from the fluids so they may be reused.

Abstract: In general, the present disclosure is directed toward a novel hybrid spintronic device for converting chemical absorption into a change in magnetoresistance. This device uses a novel magnetic material which depends on the attachment of an organic structure to a metallic film for its magnetism. Changes in the chemical environment lead to absorption on the surface of this organometallic bilayer and thus modify its magnetic properties. The change in magnetic properties, in turn, leads to a change in the resistance of a magnetoresistive structure or a spin transistor structure, allowing a standard electrical detection of the chemical change in the sensor surface.

Abstract: A diagnostic kit disclosed herein comprises a nanoparticle-biomaterial complex, an extraction solution, a collection electrode, and a current peak measurement unit. The nanoparticle-biomaterial complex comprises: one or more nanoparticles selected from a metal group consisting of zinc, cadmium, lead, copper, gallium, arsenic, thallium, nickel, manganese and bismuth; one or more biomaterial-binding materials binding to the nanoparticles through a binding-stabilizing agent and binding specifically to the biomaterials to be detected; and a binding-stabilizing agent forming bonds between the nanoparticles and the biomaterial-binding materials. The extraction solution serves to isolate and extract the nanoparticles from the nanoparticle-biomaterial complex. The collection electrode serves to collect the nanoparticles from the extraction solution. The current peak measurement unit serves to measure current peaks corresponding to the nanoparticles collected from the collection electrode.
