Publication number: 20100181207Abstract: A method for fabricating the embedded thin film resistors of a printed circuit board is provided. The embedded thin film resistors are formed using a resistor layer built in the printed circuit board. In comparison with conventional discrete resistors, embedded thin film resistors contribute to a smaller printed circuit board as the space for installing conventional resistors is saved, and better signal transmission speed and quality as the parasitic capacitive reactance effect caused by two contact ends of the conventional resistors is also avoided. The method for fabricating the embedded thin film resistors provided by the invention can be conducted using the process and equipment for conventional printed circuit boards and thereby saving the investment on new types of equipment. The method can be applied in the mass production of printed circuit boards and thereby reduce the manufacturing cost significantly.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 20, 2009Publication date: July 22, 2010Inventor: Sung-Ling Su

Publication number: 20100181210Abstract: Methods and devices for point of care determination of heparin concentration in blood are described. Cartridges including protamine ion sensitive electrodes (ISEs) and reference electrodes and systems for automatically determining heparin concentration in the cartridges are provided. Some systems add blood to a protamine bolus sufficient to bind all heparin, leaving excess protamine. The excess protamine concentration can be determined by measuring the initial slope of the electrode potential rate of change, and comparing the slope to known protamine concentration slope values In some cartridges, an oscillating pressure source moves the blood-protamine mixture back and forth across the protamine ISE. Some systems also use a second blood sample having the heparin removed or degraded to create a blank reference sample. Protamine ISEs can include polyurethane polymer, DNNS ionophore, and NPOE plasticizer.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 29, 2010Publication date: July 22, 2010Inventors: Wei Qin, Daniel S. Publication number: 20100181234Abstract: Process and apparatus are described for adsorptive bubble separation of hydrophobic particles from liquid dispersions. The process may be used to treat the gas/liquid dispersion after it has been introduced from two or more ducts near the perimeter or from a central duct of the separation vessel. When the gas-liquid-particle dispersion is introduced from a central duct, the rising bubbles are directed by, e.g., a baffle toward the perimeter of the apparatus, where they rise. At the liquid surface, bubbles with attached hydrophobic materials form a floating froth layer, which is directed toward a central froth collection launder. Rising froth at the perimeter pushing the froth bed into the reduced area of the center encourages further coalescence of the bubbles and increases liquid drainage from the froth, thus leading to concentration of the collected materials without the need for complex equipment geometry.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 2008Publication date: July 22, 2010Applicant: EASTMAN CHEMICAL COMPANYInventors: Robert L. Publication number: 20100181250Abstract: Disclosed are an amine aqueous solution for forming an active layer of a polyamide reverse osmosis composite membrane and a preparation method of the polyamide reverse osmosis composite membrane using the same. The amine aqueous solution comprises 0.1 to 20 wt % of a polyfunctional amine compound, 0.1 to 20 wt % of an alcohol amine compound, 0.1 to 20 wt % of a tertiary amine compound, and 40 to 99.7 wt % of water. Due to using an amine aqueous solution having an alcohol amine and a tertiary amine compound, the polyamide reverse osmosis composite membrane has high water permeability and enhanced salt rejection rate, and thus is useful for the membrane field.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 24, 2007Publication date: July 22, 2010Inventors: Youn-Kook Kim, Sun-Yong Lee

Publication number: 20100181253Abstract: The present invention provides a method for improving the performance of polyimide membranes as used in solvent-resistant nanofiltration. More specifically the method of the present invention allows to improve the solvent stability of the polyimide membranes to solvents or solvent mixtures that would dissolve polyimide under the conditions applied during the filtration, such as dimethylforrnamide (DMF), N-methylpyrrolidinone (NMP), dimethylacetamide (DMAC), tetrahydrofuran (THF), y-butyrolacton (GBL), dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO) and chlorinated solvents.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 14, 2008Publication date: July 22, 2010Applicant: EVONIK FIBRES GMBHInventors: Pieter Vandezande, Katrien Vanherck, Ivo Vankelecom

Publication number: 20100181255Abstract: A method for continuously eliminating foreign matter, may have the following steps: a) through-flow of a reactor with waste water in a flow direction, b) adding of magnetic or magnetizable particles to a feeding point in the reactor, wherein at least one foreign matter is attached to the particles, c) separating of particles charged with foreign matter to another spot in the reactor, located opposite the feeding point in the downward flow direction by applying a magnetic field to the water flow for the transport of particles into a collecting area connected fluidic with the reactor and d) separating of the particles and the foreign matter connected to the particles from each other. A device may have a reactor receiving waste water polluted with pollutants, a collecting area for polluted magnetic or magnetizable particles, and may produce a magnetic field, transporting the particles into the collecting area.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 8, 2007Publication date: July 22, 2010Inventors: Michael Riebensahm, Markus Vöge
