Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of the present invention provides a method for interpolating seismic data. The method includes collecting seismic data of two or more types over a field (401), determining an approximation to one of the types of the seismic data (402), and performing a wave-field transformation on the approximation to form a transformed approximation (405), wherein the transformed approximation corresponds to another of the collected types of seismic data. The method may also include setting the transformed approximation to match the measured seismic data of the corresponding types at matching locations (408), performing a wave-field transformation on the transformed approximation to form an output approximation (412), and using the output approximation to obtain a data representation of a geological layer (416).

Abstract: A method of actuating a well tool includes the steps of: increasing pressure in a fluid line of a fluid metering device; closing a pilot-operated valve in response to the pressure increasing step; and discharging a predetermined volume of fluid from the metering device in response to the pressure increasing and valve closing steps. A fluid metering device for a well tool includes a piston separating chambers; and a pilot-operated valve which selectively prevents fluid communication between the chambers in response to at least a predetermined pressure being applied to a fluid line of the metering device, and which permits fluid communication through the valve between the chambers in response to pressure in the fluid line being less than the predetermined pressure. A greater pressure may be applied to the fluid line to thereby bypass the metering device and allow fluid to discharge from the line.

  • Publication number: 20100212914
Abstract: Aspects of this invention include a method for deploying a small diameter submersible pump in a deviated wellbore. The submersible pump is first lowered into the production tubing under the influence of gravity. The pump includes a sealing member deployed thereabout which provides a releasable seal with an interior surface of the production tubing. The pump is then forced deeper into the production tubing (e.g., into a deviated section of the wellbore). This is accomplished via introducing a column of liquid (such as water) into the production tubing above the pump. The liquid exerts a force on the pump and sealing member so as to force the pump deeper into the well, thereby drawing one or more power lines into the wellbore with the pump. The invention advantageously enables a small diameter submersible pump to be economically deployed in a highly deviated wellbore. The invention also advantageously enables deployment into partially obstructed and/or damaged tubing.

Abstract: An inductive thermal bonding system includes at least one inductive bonding or heating member containing a magnetic E-shaped inductive core and a coil bounding a central member of the E-shaped inductive core. A rigid cover plate allows high and predictable temperature rate-of-change during use and reduced thermal cycling time without risk of detriment. Adaptive solid copper pads on multiplayer bonding regions minimize bonding errors and improve reliability. A cooling system is provided for adaptively cooling both the bond head and the bonded stack. Single and paired inductive heating members may be employed, and may also be alternatively controlled and positioned to aid generation of multiplayer bonding subassemblies distant from an edge of a multiplayer sheet construct.
