The detachable handle includes a ring portion that engages the lid and/or the cup portion, and a pair of grasping portions that extend axially and radially away from the ring portion. Hook portions are radially aligned with, and extend axially opposite the grasping portions, and are engageable with an upper surface of the lid portion. Moving the grasping portions radially inwardly causes the hook portions to move radially outwardly for disengagement from the upper surface and removal of the handle from the sippy cup.

The outlet opening of the container is closed by the improved throat plug assembly of this invention having a valve positioned therein which is open when the container is mounted in a dispensing fixture which is closed when the container is not mounted on the dispensing system. A plastic spring yieldably urges the valve to its closed position. In the preferred embodiment, a retainer and plastic spring are of one-piece molded construction. The throat plug assembly also includes a specifically shaped valve which is opened slightly when the container is being stored or transported to vent vapor pressure from within the container should the same be necessary.

Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing a carbonated beverage includes a sub-chamber (12) that communicates with a main container (11). In use, prior to filling the sub-chamber (12) it is pressurised to greater than or equal to the equilibrium pressure required to keep the dissolved gas in solution. This has the effect that the beverage does not froth out of a dispenser nozzle. It also has the effect of keeping beverage in the main container (11) from losing carbonation. The invention has particular application to “Optic” devices for dispensing carbonated spirit drinks.

Abstract: A closed loop dispensing system for use on a liquid container such as a bottle or the like for dispensing the liquid contents from the bottle. The outlet opening of the bottle is closed by a throat plug assembly having a spring-loaded valve comprised of a plastic material positioned therein which is open when the container cap is mounted on the container, but which automatically closes when the cap is removed from the container. An inlet opening is provided in the container insert so that liquid may be drawn therethrough. A closure cap is mounted on the bottle and has a dispensing tube extending therefrom for dispensing liquid from the container to a mixing machine or the like. A check valve is associated with the cap for preventing backflow from the dispensing tube to the container and for permitting liquid flow from the container to the dispensing tube in response to suction being applied to the dispensing tube.

A closure is included on the open end so that the clip can be shut when the article is placed between the legs. A hook, extending upward from the upper leg and away from the lower leg, allows the hanger to be placed on a support structure, such as a rod. The hanger can be made of biodegradable material.

The control valve assembly further includes a non-collapsible reservoir which holds an additive and is directly mounted via a rigid connection to the second inlet port of the valve body. A supply hose is connected between the hydration bladder and the first inlet port of the valve body. A valve core is rotatably mounted in the valve body to establish at least either a single flow condition of the liquid or a mixed flow condition of the liquid and the additive. In the mixed flow condition, the liquid from the hydration bladder freely flows through the valve core and is admitted into and circulated through the reservoir to produce a mixture of liquid and additive deliverable to the outlet port.

At the predetermined pressure, the valve arrangement assumes an open position for communicating the compressed gas to the second cylinder, thereby causing the second piston to move linearly and enabling the anvil to drive the fastener into the workpiece. During a return stroke, at a predetermined position of the first piston in the first cylinder, the valve arrangement assumes the open position for communicating a vacuum created in the first cylinder to the second cylinder and thereby causing the second piston and the anvil to retract to their initial positions.

Abstract: The new invention is a portable electric power tool, specifically directed to driving a fastener into a substrate as an electric motor driven nail gun. It has a bracket, switch, control unit, magazine and nail push system, also a motor which derives its power from a power supply or rechargeable batteries. The motor drive uses a flywheel as a speed reduction mechanism, a main characteristic is that the drive unit of the driving mechanism is connected to a pitman by a pin axis on one end, and connected to the pin axis on the other link which does the arc movement. The other end of the drive unit is connected with a spring and long board to the long slot in a sliding movement. The clutching mechanism of the speed reduction mechanism controls the anvil to do linear movement driven by the rotational motion of the flywheel. The new invention can be slim, simply and easily assembled, and provide a powerful impacting force.

At least one of the jaw members is movable with respect to the other between an open position and an approximated position for engaging body tissue therebetween. Abstract: Modular friction welding heads and associated systems and methods are disclosed herein. A friction welding system in accordance with a particular embodiment includes a carrier fixture positioned to carry a workpiece, a head support positioned proximate to the carrier fixture, and a modular friction welding head releasably carried by the head support. At least one of the carrier fixture and the head support can have a guide structure with a constrained motion path positioned to guide relative motion between the modular friction welding head and the carrier fixture. A controller can be operatively coupled to the modular friction welding head and programmed with instructions to control the operation of the friction welding head.

Abstract: Two tubular components (10, 14) are provided with integral end caps (11, 15). The end caps (11, 15) are placed in abutting relationship and are held together under pressure whilst the tubular component (10) is rotated. A pressure is applied and this causes frictional heating. A friction welded joint (18) occurs at the interface between the two end caps (11, 15). On completion of the welding process a machining tool is then passed through the internal bore (12 or 16) in either of the tubular components. The machining tool cuts through the joined end caps (11, 15) to produce a single uniform bore thorough the joined components. In a further post processing operation the extruded flash (20) is removed from the outer surfaces (13, 17).

Abstract: A weld cylinder having a single piston arrangement is provided. The cylinder has a movable retract piston assembly with the piston arranged within the retract piston assembly. The piston supports a rod that is movable between home, intermediate, work, and advanced work positions. The rod moves rapidly from the home position to the intermediate position however, the rod moves more slowly from the intermediate position to the work position to reduce the impact force. A cushion chamber slowly exhausts through a pre-orifice and a hole in the cushion valve while an isolator is in an open position. Once the cushion valve opens in response to a retract-forward pressure on the cushion valve, the cushion chamber exhausts rapidly so that weld force increases rapidly to minimize increases in cycle time. Advance of a retract piston assembly is also cushioned. A weld-forward port is no longer provided on a cylinder barrel.

In some embodiments, the liner may also include a machine-readable identification key that is configured to identify a type of waste that the liner may receive. The liner can include one or more closure members to allow a user to securely seal the liner when it is removed from the container. In some embodiments, the liner can include a flange, lip, hook or other protrusion to secure its position relative to a container.

Abstract: A system for enabling user interaction is disclosed. The system includes a printer for printing print data on a form. The print data is indicative of a plurality of marks. Each mark has a predetermined pattern common to all marks and coded data. The predetermined pattern includes a rotationally invariant pattern. A sensing device is also included for sensing the marks when moved relative to the form, for using the rotationally invariant pattern to correct for perspective distortion of the marks, for decoding the coded data of the marks, and for generating indicating data indicative of movement of the sensing device relative to the form.
