  • Patent number: 7784155
Abstract: The present invention is a simultaneous, multiple plane opening vehicle door hinge, comprising a first leaf, a second leaf, and a third leaf. The first leaf and the second leaf are pivotally coupled defining a swing-out hinge adapted so as to enable rotation in a substantially horizontal plane about a substantially vertical axis of rotation. The second leaf and the third leaf are pivotally coupled about a lift bearing defining a vertical-lift hinge adapted so as to enable rotation in a substantially vertical plane about a substantially horizontal axis of rotation. A pin extending from the third leaf traverses along a groove in a guide block such that there is simultaneous swing-out and vertical-lift motion of the vehicle door upon an outward urging of the door.

  • Patent number: 7784157
Abstract: An apparatus which facilitates retaining a coil wire from a microphone onto a shirt. The device is used to retain the coil from a microphone to a location adjacent to a police officer's shirt. The microphone or other communication device has an alligator clip or other means by which it is clipped to a shirt. The microphone is attached to a coil which then is attached to a pack which is usually worn on the police officer's belt. The present invention provides a secure loop which is securely retained on the shirt and through which the microphone coil passes. As a result, when the microphone becomes dislodged, the loop provides a means by which the coil dangles from the loop and enables the microphone to remain adjacent to the police officer's shirt.

  • Patent number: 7784158
Abstract: A spool has a pair of spaced apart plates mounted on opposing sides of a central core. A flexible fabric sheet is positioned in contact with a face of one of the plates of the spool and across a peripheral edge of the plate. A clip includes a pair of legs joined at one end and extending around the core of the spool with the fabric thereby forced into contact with the core. With the legs so inserted between the plates the fabric is captured in the spool so that the spool and clip are not able to move on the fabric or be dislodged from it. The legs terminate with toe curved in opposing lateral directions and which are able to be mutually interlocked in an overlapping attitude.

  • Patent number: 7784159
Abstract: This invention relates to a spring fastener, which comprises engagement springs in opposite sides of the fastener. Each engagement spring has an engagement region comprising a hindrance portion, which increases considerably the removal to insertion force ratio as compared to such ratio in the absence of the hindrance portion, thus permitting very easy insertion with considerably more difficult removal of the fastener from the slot of a panel, which provides an efficient ergonomically balanced removal to insertion force ratio. The hindrance portion comprises ripples or other hindrance elements of unexpectedly minute dimensions for providing this efficient ergonomic force balance. The combination of the above structures with the presence of barbs being bent at their front portion improves immensely the ergonomic character of the devices.

  • Patent number: 7784168
Abstract: A magnet covering member made of a soft steel plate covers an outer surface of a magnetized permanent magnet placed in a rotor core of a rotor. The magnet covering member is detached from the permanent magnet when the rotor is incorporated into a stator of an alternator during an alternator assembling process. Because of a soft magnetic characteristic of the magnet covering member, an outer magnetic field generated by the permanent magnet placed between adjacent claw poles of the rotor core makes a magnetic short-circuit, and a magnetic attracting phenomenon caused by such a magnetic field is thereby reduced. The soft magnetic characteristic of the magnet covering member also serves to support the rotor.

The cutter assembly has an axle engaged with the second operating element at a first end and has a thread at a second end. A rotatable circular cutting blade is located on the axle between the first and second ends and is held in place by a nut engaged with the thread. A decorative cover covers the nut.

  • Patent number: 7784195
Abstract: Contours of a surface of a bearing which extends about an axis are displayed on a grid. To visualize the contours, points on the surface are measured at a plurality of angular positions to determine the corresponding measured values. The measured values at each angular position are normalized to determine a normalized measurement datum corresponding to each angular position. The normalized measurement datum is subtracted from each of the measured values to determine a plurality of deviations of the corresponding points. Shades are assigned that correspond to a range of possible deviations. Each of the deviations are displayed as a data segment on a grid that represents the shape of the surface of the bearing. Each data segment is shaded on the grid to the corresponding shade to provide a topographical representation of the contours of the surface of the bearing.
