  • Patent number: 7784629
Abstract: A composite closure includes a band and an insert disk. A contact surface urges downwardly against the disk even while the band moves longitudinally relative to the disk or container. The closure has a fully tightened position in which the band's ring contacts the disk's annular channel, a loose position in which the ring is spaced apart from the annular channel, and an intermediate tightened position in which the ring is spaced apart from the disk and the contact surface urges against the curl. Another composite closure includes plural fins or gussets. The fins or gussets engage the peripheral curl of the insert disk to secure the band to the disk, which provides a resistance to initial unscrewing of the band. The server communicates various messages to be displayed by the display unit such as advertisements, stock quotes, news, weather, nutritional content of the merchandise and the like. The vendor is able to add their own messages for display on their vending machines by communicating with the server. Advertisers add various advertisements to the server which are then reviewed and disseminated to the appropriate vending machines.

Abstract: A vending machine includes first and second integrated dispensing systems mounted at front portions of adjacent product shelf dividers establishing at least first, second and third product queues. Each of the first and second dispensing systems includes first and second release mechanisms having a plurality of hinged plates supported by a frame. The plurality of hinged plates are selectively shifted into and out of corresponding ones of the first, second and third product queues, such that each product queue has associated therewith two opposing release mechanisms. Preferably, at least one of the first and second release mechanisms for each dispensing system includes a queue spacing member which is mounted to one of the hinged plates and projects into the product queue to establish a desired spacing between the release mechanisms.

Abstract: A cap for closing containers includes a dispenser placed in connection with the interior of a container for dispensing a fluid contained in the container, a first sleeve integral with the dispenser and able to be screwed on the neck of the container to make the dispenser integral with the container. The cap further includes a second sleeve coaxial and surrounding the first sleeve and coupling elements active between the first and the second sleeve to couple mechanically the second sleeve to the first sleeve during a rotation of the second sleeve (7) in a first direction and to uncouple the second sleeve from the first sleeve during a rotation of the second sleeve in a second direction, opposite to the first. A covering element encompasses the dispenser and can be uncoupled from the cap coordinating a sequence of operations on the cap.

  • Patent number: 7784646
Abstract: A metered dispenser includes a housing including a reciprocable piston drive stem including an inlet opening at a first end thereof, a floating piston at a second end, and a passage between the first and second ends. An inlet valve is provided adjacent the first end for permitting entry of liquid product into the passage. A biased cocking mechanism is reciprocally disposed substantially within the housing. A biased loading mechanism is movable in a second generally opposite direction by the cocking mechanism, and is engageable with the piston drive stem to move the drive stem in the second direction. When the cocking mechanism is moved from an initial rest position toward the second direction, a series of operations allow the loading mechanism to project the drive stem in the first direction to dispense a metered dose of liquid product through a discharge orifice provided adjacent the second end.

Abstract: An actuator (10, 10?, 110) for a fluid-dispenser container, e.g., an aerosol container (14) or a non-aerosol pump container (114), has in one version (actuators 10 and 10?) a base (18) having a port (20) which receives fluid from the container (14) and dispenses the fluid via a shallow cavity (24, 24?). In another version of the actuator, the actuator (110) has a base (44) and a cover (46) which may be positioned either in a closed or open position relative to each other. In the closed position, fluid is transported through an extended conduit of actuator (110) provided by a base conduit (58) which is connected in fluid flow communication with a cover conduit (70) to discharge fluid through a cover orifice (66). When cover (46) is in the open position, fluid is dispensed via base conduit (58) through a shallow cavity (54) in the same manner as that of actuators (10, 10?).

  • Patent number: 7784649
Abstract: An aerosol texturing system for applying a layer of texture material on an uncoated portion of a substrate substantially to match a coated portion of the substrate, comprises an aerosol assembly, texture material, and propellant material. The aerosol assembly defines a product chamber and is selectively operable in a first mode in which the product chamber is sealed and in a second mode in which fluid is allowed to flow out of the product chamber along a dispensing passageway. The texture material and propellant material are disposed within the product chamber. The texture material has a base portion and a particulate portion containing at least one particulate material. When the aerosol assembly is in the second mode, the propellant material is adapted to force the texture material out of the aerosol assembly along the dispensing passageway and onto the uncoated portion of the substrate.
