  • Patent number: 7784959
Abstract: A whirlpool type aqua-lamp-based candle-like lighting device includes a stand accommodating therein a motor for driving rotation of a magnetic piece and an aqua lamp that defines a chamber mounted to an open end of the stand. The aqua lamp receives therein a magnetically-driven moving piece located on a bottom thereof and corresponding to the magnetic piece and a light generation assembly is set under the aqua lamp. An illuminator for generating twinkling lighting is arranged at an opening of the chamber. Thus, the motor, once set in operation, rotates the magnetically-driven moving piece, which in turn causes a liquid flow inside the aqua lamp in a whirlpool and dazzling/shining manner; meanwhile, the illuminator on the chamber provides a function of simulating a twinkling candle flaming. The whirlpool type aqua-lamp-based candle-like lighting device shows dual interests of visual effects in light twinkling and entertainment of observing liquid flowing.

  • Patent number: 7784974
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to light sources that have variable and adjustable luminous intensities. According to certain preferred embodiments of the invention, devices are provided that generally comprise (1) a conductive elastomeric material that is located between a first and second conductive surface; (2) a power source operably connected to the first conductive surface; and (3) a light source operably connected to the second conductive surface. In such embodiments, the conductive elastomeric material comprises an electrical resistance that decreases when the material is compressed or contacts a greater surface area of the first or second conductive surface. By modulating the compression state of the elastomeric material (and, therefore, the ohmic resistance thereof), the amount of electrical power transmitted from the power source to the light source is controlled, which in turn affects the luminous intensity of the light emitted therefrom.

Suction cups retain the apparatus on a window surface where, during day light hours, there is sufficient ambient light to charge the battery and, during night hours, the translucent lenses illuminate a desired area.

  • Patent number: 7784994
Abstract: Mixing apparatus includes a batch mixing vessel with an inlet to receive constituent material, an agitation assembly for mixing the constituents and an outlet to convey batches of the mixed is provided. The apparatus includes a pressurizing device for pressurizing the vessel to assist in evacuation of the mix, and a conduit through which the mix is conveyed. A single pneumatic source is used both to pressurize the mixing vessel and to drive a jet pump including the batch loader. During the mixing cycle, the compressor used to discharge the finished mix is generally idle. This compressor can be used during these periods to drive a jet pump to load the mixing vessel. Therefore, manual loading is avoided and can be achieved such that the mixing cycle time is not interrupted.

Abstract: A mortar mixing apparatus includes a screw conveyor disposed below the bottom of a mixing container in which a selectively operable agitator is located. An elongate opening in the bottom of the mixing container is open into the housing of the screw conveyor so that mixed mortar may flow into the screw conveyor. The screw conveyor may be rotated in a reverse direction to force materials upward into the mixing container, or it may be operated in a forward direction to convey mortar away from the mixing container. The agitator and the screw conveyor are independently driven by hydraulic motors.

Abstract: There is provided a method for liquid mixing supply fabricating a mixed etching solution in which sulfuric acid, hydrogen peroxide, ultra pure water and hydrofluoric act are mixed together. The method includes: supplying a specific liquid chemical to a mixing tank such that it is mixed in ppm units; and supplying at least two liquid chemicals and a ultra pure water to the mixing tank at a predetermined ratio, and mixing them, wherein starting points of supplying the at least two liquid chemicals and the ultra pure water are different from each other. Since the starting points of supplying the sulfuric acid, the hydrogen peroxide, and the ultra pure water are different, it is possible to minimize the heat generation due to the reaction between the sulfuric acid with the hydrogen peroxide.

Abstract: In one aspect of the invention a drywell includes a heated receiver for receiving a temperature probe. The receiver has upper and lower ends and an inner shield positioned around the receiver to define a first air channel extending between the upper and lower ends. A flow plate is positioned above the upper end of the receiver and extends outwardly from the receiver. The flow plate defines a plate opening positioned over the receiver opening and has a lower surface sloping away from the receiver with distance above the receiver. A blower positioned below the lower end of the receiver induces air flow through the air channel. The lower surface of the flow plate directs the air flow away from the temperature probe.

Abstract: A thermopile-based thermal detector is provided by a thermocouple, formed from a single sheet of material, which is made dissimilar with a P-doped and an N-doped junction electrically isolated via a naturally forming depletion region. The thermopile P-N sheet is uniform and planar, addressing stress and manufacturing issues. The usual non-active area of a conventional thermopile is significantly reduced or eliminated, and thus the output signal per unit diaphragm area of the detector is substantially increased, without the typical reduction in the signal-to-noise ratio. Also, a significant reduction in size of the thermal detector area is provided without a reduction in signal or signal-to-noise ratio. In an aspect, a second layer of thermocouples is axially positioned over, and connected with, a first layer of thermocouples. Additional axially stacked thermopiles can be provided within the same fabrication process. Signal processing circuitry may be electrically interconnected with the thermocouple.
