Abstract: The present invention provides an industrial robot, wherein a cable or the like spanned between an end effector and an upper arm has less bending due to a motion of a wrist portion, wherein the cable or the like does not twine around the upper arm, and wherein the cable or the like does not interfere with a peripheral device. A passage opening 25, through which a cable or the like 12 for supplying power, signals or materials to an end effector 9 attached to a rotating element 7 is drawn out of a body 6, is opened at a position, at which the body 6 intersects with a center of a first axis (an R-axis). The cable or the like 12 drawn out of the passage opening 25 is extended to the end effector 9.

Abstract: A gas-operated integrated punching device with plate presser, comprising a tubular containment body closed hermetically at one end by a bottom and at the opposite end by a head that is perforated for the passage of a piston-operated plate presser, which performs a translational motion within the tubular body; the plate presser is crossed coaxially by a punch, which is jointly connected to the tubular body; a compression and expansion chamber for pressurized gas is formed between the plate presser and the bottom, the gas being loaded into the chamber by way of loading elements inserted in the bottom or in the tubular body; the pressurized gas pushes the plate presser between two configurations, a first fully extracted configuration, in which the outer end of the plate presser is not in contact with a metal plate to be blanked or punched and protrudes from the head by such a length as to affect the tip of the punch, and a second configuration, which is at least partly retracted into the tubular body and in whic

Abstract: An upright piano is equipped with a soft pedal, and a player makes the hammer stroke shorter by depressing the soft pedal; while a user is reproducing a music tune by means of an automatic player piano fabricated on the basis of the upright piano, the keys are servo controlled on the basis of a position difference of keys between target values and actual values and a key velocity difference, and the duty ratio of driving signal, which is supplied to solenoid-operated key actuators for the keys, are determined on the basis of multiplications between the position difference/key velocity difference and a position gain and a velocity gain; the value of position gain is reduced on the condition that the soft pedal is depressed for preventing the playback from an unintentional loud tone or tones.

Abstract: A keyboard musical instrument has a solenoid including a plunger and a coil into which the plunger is inserted, a drive unit for applying voltage to the solenoid, and a key which moves together with the plunger, and on which a force generated by the solenoid is exerted. The drive unit includes a position detector for detecting position of the key in the direction in which the key is depressed or released. By varying voltage which is to be applied to the solenoid in accordance with the position of the key detected by the position detector while the key is in motion, the drive unit varies the force which is to be generated by the solenoid.

Abstract: A saxophone neck system uses interchangeable component parts to modify and optimize sound and resistance. The saxophone neck system may allow a saxophone player the ability to change components to achieve variations in sound and to use the components with various manufacturers' instruments and mouthpieces. With the use of various internal shapes and dimensions placed in a specific combination, the player can create a desired sound. Additionally, the saxophone neck system may eliminate neck cork compression discrepancies from different manufacturers by offering different diameters of the body of the initiator portion of the saxophone neck system to fit any saxophone mouthpiece.

Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for storing and generating sound effects with the help of analog devices (5, 6) when playing a musical instrument. The apparatus comprises one or more positioning motors (4) which can be connected to potentiometers of the analog devices (5, 6) by means of shafts (7). The apparatus further comprises means for storing and retrieving the settings of the positioning motors (4), a specific setting of the positioning motors (4) being used for generating a specific sound effect. By connecting the apparatus to many different types of analog effects devices (5) and tube amplifiers (6), the apparatus according to the invention allows specific sound effects to be preprogrammed and stored which the musician can easily retrieve as required, without having to make adjustments to the analog devices (5, 6).

Abstract: A flash suppressor for use with a firearm includes a generally cylindrically shaped housing having a series of horizontal groves about its exterior. An internal thread located at the proximal end of the housing is present for threadedly securing the housing to the muzzle of a firearm. There is a tapered chamber located between the internal threads and the opening which precedes the expansion chamber of the flash suppressor. The expansion chamber progressively expands being smallest at the proximal end and gradually increasing in diameter towards the distil end. Longitudinally extending, progressively helically shaped perforations are formed through the housing and in communication with the internal expansion chamber. These perforations are generally equally distributed about the housing except the bottom area which has no perforations present.
