Abstract: An assembly (14, 16) for securing two juxtaposed panels (64, 66) to a structure (74), each panel including a joining flange (68, 70) located at, or adjacent to, respective juxtaposed edges thereof. The assembly includes a retaining member (14) having a substantially planar surface (24) supporting at opposite edges thereof respective first flanges (26, 28) and a clamping member (16) having two spaced-apart legs (48, 40) depending from a web (36). Second flanges (46, 48) are each supported on a facing internal surface of a respective one of the legs so as to extend away from the web. Each leg engages a respective exposed surface of an adjacent joining flange, the first and second flanges being oriented in opposite directions so as to interlock when the clamping member is mounted on the retaining member and thereby limit lateral separation of the legs.

Abstract: A tapered load plate transfers loads across a joint between adjacent concrete floor slabs. The top and bottom surfaces may taper from approximately 4 inches wide to a narrow substantially pointed end over a length of approximately 12 inches. The tapered load plate accommodates differential shrinkage of cast-in-place concrete slabs. The tapered load plate may comprise a main plate and at least one extension. When adjacent slabs move away from each other, the narrow end of the tapered load plate moves out of the void that it created in the slab thus allowing the slabs to move relative to one another in a direction parallel to the joint. Tapered load plates may be assembled into a load-plate basket with the direction of the taper alternating from one tapered load plate to the next to account for off-center saw cuts.

Abstract: The method of the invention for monitoring a thrust reverser of a turbojet having an actuator controlled by an electric motor consists in determining a maintenance notice from a weighted combination of provisional notices, each provisional notice relating to a category of parameters associated with at least one phase of an operating cycle of the reverser, the category being selected from a category of parameters representative of a duration of said phase, of an energy seen by the motor during said phase, of a torque seen by the motor at a predefined instant of said phase, and of a duration during which the setpoint speed of rotation and the measured speed of rotation of the motor differ during said phase, each provisional notice being generated by analyzing values obtained during at least one cycle for at least one parameter of said category relative to a degradation threshold.

Abstract: According to one exemplary embodiment, an apparatus is disclosed for estimating an NOx conversion efficiency of an SCR catalyst. The apparatus includes a catalyst degradation module for determining an SCR catalyst degradation factor and a NOx concentration module for determining an SCR catalyst inlet NOx concentration based on an interpretation of at least one NOx detector signal. Additionally, the apparatus includes an NH3 concentration module for determining an SCR catalyst inlet NH3 concentration, a temperature module for determining an SCR catalyst bed temperature of the at least one SCR catalyst, and a space velocity (SV) module for determining an exhaust gas SV for the SCR catalyst. A NOx conversion efficiency module calculates a NOx conversion efficiency value based at least partially on the SCR catalyst degradation factor, the SCR catalyst inlet NOx concentration, the SCR catalyst inlet NH3 concentration, the exhaust gas SV, and the SCR catalyst bed temperature.

Abstract: It is provided a device for detecting an accumulation amount of particulates. The device has a filter for trapping particulates from a gas containing the particulates, a container 5 for containing the filter, an upstream pipe 3 provided on the upstream side of the container 5 to lead the gas into the container 5, a downstream pipe 4 provided on the downstream side of the container 5 to lead the gas after passed through the filter, a transmitting antenna 10 provided within the downstream pipe 4 to transmit an electromagnetic wave having a frequency of 30 GHz or more but not exceeding 10 THz, and a receiving antenna 11 provided within the upstream pipe 3 to receive the electromagnetic wave. An amount of the particulates trapped in the filter is detected based on an intensity of the electromagnetic wave received by the receiving antenna 11.

Abstract: A device for detecting particulates includes: a filter; a filter container; an upstream pipe; a downstream pipe; an upstream detecting unit; and a downstream detecting unit. The upstream detecting unit has a branch flow route for receiving gas from the upstream pipe, a trapping portion, a transmitting portion for transmitting an electromagnetic wave to the trapping portion, and a receiving portion for receiving an electromagnetic wave from the trapping portion. The downstream detecting unit has a branch flow route for receiving gas from the downstream pipe, a trapping portion, a transmitting portion for transmitting an electromagnetic wave to the trapping portion, and a receiving portion for receiving an electromagnetic wave from the trapping portion. The amount of the particulates trapped in the filter is detected based on a difference between detection values of the mass of the particulates trapped in the upstream and downstream trapping portions.

Abstract: When an estimated value (A value) of an accumulation amount in a filter for trapping particulate matter reaches a prescribed value A1 corresponding to a prescribed accumulation amount Qm of the particulate matter and ash (S12), the forced regeneration of the filter is performed (S20); and when the estimated value (A value) reaches the prescribed value A1 again before the elapsed time since the completion of the forced regeneration of the filter reaches a prescribed time period T1 (S12, S14), it is judged that the amount of the ash accumulated in the filter is equal to or larger than a regulation amount (cleaning is required).

Abstract: This paper suggests a procedure for the operation of an internal combustion engine, which has a particle filter arrayed to its emission system, which, during regeneration, is cleansed of its stored particles. This also describes the procedure's comparison of the engine's amount of a load to the load threshold value. It also has a throttle cut-off, which suppresses the fuel supply entirely when the engine's amount of a load is lower than the load threshold value and the engine's revolutions are higher the revolution threshold value. The set load threshold value above null is further dependant on the particle filter's regeneration signal. These procedures, based in this invention, are to prevent the overheating of the particle filter during its regeneration.
