  • Patent number: 7805775
Abstract: A neck cover (51) includes a flexible cover member (53) and a to-be-attached portion (52) which serves to attach the flexible cover member (53) to a head protecting body (3) of a full-face-type helmet (1). The flexible cover member (53) comprises a substantially plate-like flexible cushion member (56) and a flexible support member (57) which supports the flexible cushion member (56). The flexible cover member (53) is mainly made of a substantially plate-like foamed synthetic resin, a permeability of which measured by using a Frajour type method based on JIS L 1096 falls within a range of 0.1 to 10 cc/cm2·sec (preferably 0.2 to 5 cc/cm2·sec and more preferably 0.3 to 2 cc/cm2·sec). Therefore, a sound which is generated by a traveling wind as it is caught in a ventilator, stabilizer, or the like is effectively prevented from being heard as loud noise to a helmet wearer.

Abstract: The present invention is an extremely compact three leaf geared hinge that is adapted to handle heavy loads, tightly fold back onto itself for space conservation, offer extensive freedom of movement in the horizontal plane and provide an extremely smooth operating action with minimal play in torsion as well as in axial or transverse motions. The hinge has three interconnected leaves jointed by hinge pins. The inner and outer leaves each have two fixed gears on their sides that meshingly engage a set of two rotating gears located on the sides of the middle leaf. The inner leaf has a cylindrical leaf and pin arrangement on one end that may be rotatably secured to a rigid member or housing. The free end of the outer leaf may be attached to the load directly or with a device that allows the load to rotate normally about the extended hinge.

Abstract: A vehicle hinge assembly (10) for hanging a vehicle door on a vehicle body. The assembly (10) comprises a first hinge leaf (12) hingedly connected to a second hinge leaf (14) by a pivot pin (15). The pivot pin (15) is immovably mounted in one hinge leaf (14) and is rotatably mounted in, and axially withdrawable from, the other hinge leaf (12). Hinge pin retention means (35) is associated with the other hinge leaf (12) for preventing axial withdrawal of the hinge pin (15) therefrom. The hinge pin retention means (35) having hinge pin engagement means (38) movably mounted between first and second positions. The engagement means (38) in its first position engages with the hinge pin (15) to permit rotation of the hinge pin (15) but prevent its axial movement relative to the other hinge leaf (12). The engagement means (38) in its second position is spaced from the hinge pin (15) to permit its axial withdrawal from the other hinge leaf (12).
