Patent number: 7810235Abstract: A method is disclosed for making a connector for preventing electrostatic discharge during connection of a USB-type connector. The connector includes a grounding clip provided within a recess formed at least partially down into the surface of the second level of the base block. The grounding clip may have a proximal end affixed to a proximal end of a signal ground pin of the plurality of signal pins, though the grounding clip and signal ground pin may be coupled at other locations along their lengths. The connector including the grounding clip may be affixed to a semiconductor device. A portion of the grounding clip is provided at a height above the surface of the base block such that, when a shroud is slid around the connector, the shroud engages and remains in contact with the grounding clip. Accordingly, any electrostatic discharge built up in the shroud travels from the shroud, through the ESD grounding clip, to the signal ground pin where it is harmlessly dissipated.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 2006Date of Patent: October 12, 2010Assignee: SanDisk CorporationInventors: Steven Sprouse, Patricio Collantes, Dhaval Parikh

The video cameras are arranged parallel to each other to capture the target sighting field. The computer has video inputs and an image processing unit enabling the video image data to be superimposed in real time in a pixel precise manner in relation to the target field on the screen. The computer includes a ballistic computer which enables the target image to reproduce on the screen. A graticule arranged on the screen can be positioned automatically and in real time according to the incoming data, such that the position of the graticule in the target field corresponds to a real projectile point of impact.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 2006Date of Patent: October 12, 2010Inventors: Rudolf Koch, Peter Veerkamp, Franz-Josef Watermann

Patent number: 7810274Abstract: A handle for a fishing rod is disclosed which provides increased sensitivity to vibration. In particular, the handle is formed from a plurality of cork rings and a plurality of sensor disks having a relatively higher flexural stiffness than cork, such as graphite rings. The principles of the present invention may be used with virtually any type of fishing rod handle, such as a handle with a reel seat for a bait caster reel; a handle with a reel seat for use with a spinning reel and a handle without a reel seat, also known as a Tennessee style handle and assembled to a rod blank to form a fishing rod. Since the handle is formed from both cork rings and sensor disks having a relatively higher flexural stiffness than cork, the handle in accordance with the present invention provides increased sensitivity to vibration relative to a cork handle while at the same time provides the same feel as a handle formed from cork that is not as brittle or susceptible to breakage as an all graphite handle.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 2007Date of Patent: October 12, 2010Inventor: Joe Franklin Burns, III

Patent number: 7810275Abstract: A root growth barrier and method for use with transplantable plants is provided. The barrier is a bilayer, comprising an inner layer of a root-tip-trapping material bonded to an outer layer of a root-impenetrable material. The inner layer faces the roots of a plant and serves to trap root tips to promote root branching. When a black or dark-colored inner layer is bonded to a white or light colored reflective outer layer, soil temperatures are lower and water retention is promoted. Such a barrier may be used as a freestanding container for plants or be manufactured into preformed rolls for use in plant pots and containers.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2001Date of Patent: October 12, 2010Assignee: Lacebark, Inc.Inventor: Carl E. Patent number: 7810276Abstract: A stackable plant support assembly may include two plant support frames that by be vertically stacked or secured to each other, one supporting the other, using a plurality of clips. Each frame may be formed from two or more wire frame portions. The clips, which may be constructed of plastic, may include a body having a pair of spaced apart, parallel channels and a closure that is used to close off the channels. Each channel of the clip(s) may extend through the body such that each channel has a pair of opens ends and an open top. A pair of parallel grooves may also be defined in the surface of each channel. The grooves may allow each clip to engage up to four separate frame portions. Therefore, the clips may be used for securing together and supporting two separate vertically arranged frames by engaging the frame portions of each frame.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 2007Date of Patent: October 12, 2010Inventor: Lars Rosaen

Patent number: 7810277Abstract: A lawn edging strip includes imbedded conductors which can be used to conduct low voltage electricity to allow the lawn edging to double as a lighting strip. The lawn edging product enables solderless connection of one or more low voltage lights at points along the length of the edging using a light socket body with a plug adapted for insertion into holes formed in the strip to expose embedded conductors. Adjacent sections of lawn edging may be connected together physically and electrically.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2008Date of Patent: October 12, 2010Assignee: Alf Operating Partners, Ltd.Inventor: John Fakhari

Patent number: 7810278Abstract: An apparatus is provided for unattended watering of plants over an extended period of time utilizing a watering system that regulates a partial vacuum to control the discharge of water to the roots of the plants. A water reservoir is provided having an encapsulated interior cavity and an exterior exposed to ambient air, and having upper and lower ends. The reservoir is located above the root level of a plant to be watered. At least one drain opening is defined in the lower end of the reservoir. The upper end of the reservoir is closed and is provided with an adjustable valve, preferably a pinch valve, and an air conduit, preferably a flexible tube, that passes through the valve and extends between the interior and the exterior of the reservoir. The valve thereby interacts with the conduit to partially obstruct air flow through it, so as to maintain a partial vacuum in the upper end of the reservoir as water drains from the lower end of the reservoir.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 2009Date of Patent: October 12, 2010Inventor: John Hui

Patent number: 7810279Abstract: A buoyant habitat system comprising an island body or submersible growing area, at least one solid elevated growing area and at least one hollowed-out elevated growing area. Preferably, the island body or submersible growing area has a top surface and is comprised of a nonwoven matrix that is injected with buoyant foam. Preferably, the at least one solid elevated growing area is attached to said top surface and is comprised of a nonwoven matrix that is injected with buoyant foam. Preferably, the at least one hollowed-out elevated growing area is attached to said top surface and is comprised of an outer ring of said nonwoven matrix that encircles a portion of growth medium.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2007Date of Patent: October 12, 2010Assignee: Fountainhead, LLCInventors: Bruce G. Patent number: 7810280Abstract: The force from a drive rod driven by an electric motor is transmitted via a link arm pivotally linked to the drive rod and a back door. When the back door is operated in an open direction, the link arm is supported by an open-side support slider and the acting direction of the force applied to the link arm by the drive rod is shifted to the opening direction of the back door. When the back door is operated in a closing direction, the link arm is supported by a closed-side support slider and a closed-side support roller and the acting direction of the force applied to the link arm by the drive rod is shifted to the closing-direction of the back door. The open-side and closed-side support sliders are pressed against the link arm by leaf spring members so that the link arm is prevented from oscillating between the sliders.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 2005Date of Patent: October 12, 2010Assignees: Honda Motor Co., Ltd., Mitsui Mining and Smelting Co., Ltd., Mitsuba CorporationInventors: Takeshi Hattori, Ryoji Araki, Osamu Sera, Masashi Shimizu, Yasushi Yoshida
