Abstract: A system and associated method for disengaging a shrink coupling that secures a shaft to a drive train component, such as a gearbox, includes a reaction plate erected around the shaft at a location displaced from the shrink coupling, with the reaction plate being anchored in place relative to the shaft. A plurality of jacking devices, such as hydraulic jacks, are operationally disposed between the reaction plate and shrink coupling and spaced circumferentially around the shaft. The jacking devices have a first end engaged against the reaction plate and a second opposite end mechanically fastened to the shrink coupling. To remove the shrink coupling from the drive train component, the shrink coupling is released from its clamped state and the jacking devices are activated to exert a pulling force on the shrink coupling, which causes the shrink coupling to be pulled off of the drive train component and moved axially along the shaft to a resting position on the shaft.

Abstract: A combination exit sign and emergency light is provided, wherein the emergency light is disposed along a bottom, portion of the exit sign. The bottom portion of the housing is formed with a recessed section intermediate opposing side flange portions, with a light bar incorporating LEDs being mounted in the recess section to provide emergency lighting during power outages and emergency situations. The bar is white in color on the outside, except a bottom portion of the bar is left clear for the free transmission of light. With this construction, at least a substantial majority of fight generated by the LEDs will be directed out of the bottom portion, while the side portions are also preferably lit thereby providing a more intense light out of the bottom portion to assure adequate illumination leading to a suitable exit.

Abstract: A tensile structural assembly includes a base support, guide hook, loop, and tie. The guide hook is fixed to the base support and includes a guide section and hook section. The guide section includes a length of substantially uniform width. The loop attaches to or forms part of the tie. The guide hook retains the loop. The loop and the tie are in tension. In one embodiment; the tensile structure may be assembled by fixing the guide hook to the base support, temporarily locating the loop in an application tool recess of an application tool, temporarily locating the application tool over the guide section, and applying a force to the application tool, which moves the loop along the guide section imparting tension into said loop and the tie, until the loop moves to the end of the hook section and snaps into the hook section, retaining the loop and the tie in tension.

Abstract: The present invention provides a signboard assembly, which is constructed such that, when external force is applied to a signboard, the signboard is rotated, and, when the external force is removed therefrom, the signboard is automatically returned to its original position. The signboard assembly includes the signboard (20) for expressing information, a support unit (30), which rotatably supports the signboard, an elastic member (58), which applies elastic force to the support unit to return the support unit to its original position, and a weight member (80), which maintains the original installation position of the signboard. The signboard assembly of the present invention having the above-mentioned construction is advantageous in that, even if a relatively large external force is applied to the signboard, the signboard is prevented from being damaged and is easily returned to its original position.
