  • Patent number: 7832646
Abstract: Gateway for contactless purchase transactions identifies plural transaction cards held by a customer at a point of sale terminal and loads account information into a memory. The customer's payment options are presented and a selection is received through a user interface. Account information associated with the selected card is forwarded to the point of sale terminal for use in the purchase transaction. The memory is cleared of the account data in advance of a next purchase transaction. Optionally, payment options can be displayed concurrently for selection, and one or more of the payment options can be highlighted to encourage its selection, and other messages, offers, and incentives can be displayed to the customer.

  • Patent number: 7832647
Abstract: A semiconductor device such as an RFID, which can easily generate a given stable potential, is provided. Circuits included in a semiconductor device are categorized depending on whether a given stable power source potential is necessary. A power source potential generated from a wireless signal received by an antenna with the use of the antenna and a rectifier circuit is supplied to a circuit which needs a given stable power source potential through a regulator. On the other hand, a power source potential generated by the rectifier circuit is supplied to a circuit other than the circuit which needs the arbitrary power source potential. Thus, a semiconductor device including a regulator circuit easily designed with a smaller layout can be provided, and the semiconductor device can easily generate a given stable power source potential.

  • Patent number: 7832650
Abstract: A hot water-water mixing faucet holds a control valve body in a balanced position between a bias spring and a temperature-sensitive coil spring. An adjusting screw 6a supports the bias spring in an axial direction to change setting of the supporting position of the bias spring, and a rear end side of the bias spring is supported by a supporting member which is formed separately from the adjusting screw. The supporting member is slidably inserted in the axial direction into a through-hole provided on the adjusting screw and is connected detachably to the adjusting screw by an abutting section provided in an area protruding from the through-hole toward the bias spring side. A lifting spring biases the supporting member to pull the supporting member back toward the side opposite to the bias spring to the adjusting screw 6a.

  • Patent number: 7832682
Abstract: A material roll is transported to a roll changer by being arranged on a transport carriage. The material roll and transport carriage are placed on a transfer table which is moved into position between journal bearings of the roll changer. An inclined position of the material roll, arranged on the transfer table, is determined by sensors. In this determined, axially aligned position, the material roll is axially aligned on the bearing journals. The roll size of the material is determined. An axially aligned position for roller support arms of a roll carrier of the roll changer is determined as a function of the determined roll size. An axially aligned position of the transfer table is determined as a function of the determined roll size and the determined inclined position of the material roll.

Abstract: An aircraft stowage bin assembly includes shear fittings configured to route a content load from the bucket of the bin assembly to the airframe in the event of a forward load condition, such as a crash or severe turbulence. When the forward inertial load factor on the stowage bin is greater than about 1 g, the shear fittings create an efficient load path from the bucket to the airframe which bypasses the large metallic or composite endframes required by the designs of many conventional overhead stowage bins. As a result, significant reductions in overall bulk and weight, as well as lower manufacturing costs, can be realized.

Abstract: The present application relates to a specially designed hinge mechanism (4) which makes it possible to construct an aircraft door (2) that can be fitted in a fuselage (3) so as to be displaceable and swivellable on the fuselage (3). Furthermore, the invention relates to an aircraft door (2) comprising at least one such hinge mechanism (4) designed in this way, to a fuselage (3) with at least one aircraft door (2) that is linked to at least one hinge mechanism (4), designed in this way, on the fuselage (3), as well as to the use of at least one hinge mechanism (4) for installation of an aircraft door (2) on a fuselage (3). The hinge mechanism (4) essentially comprises a displacement mechanism (5, 6) as well as a telescopic scissor-type mechanism (7-12). The displacement mechanism (5, 6) can be linked to an aircraft door (2) and is kinematically designed such that as a result of its activation the aircraft door (2) can be displaced from its home position in the direction of the fuselage (3).

Abstract: Methods are described for launching multiple space vehicles. A first space vehicle and a second space vehicle can be detachably attached to a launch vehicle. The first space vehicle is for an orbit of a first desired altitude in a first desired orbital plane. The second vehicle is for an orbit of a second desired altitude in a second desired orbital plane. The launch vehicle with the first and second space vehicles may be launched into a first orbit in or near the first desired orbital plane. The second space vehicle may be released in the first orbit. When the orbital plane of the second space vehicle coincides with the second desired orbital plane, the second space vehicle may be transferred to a transfer orbit. The second space vehicle may be transferred to the orbit of the second desired altitude in the second desired orbital plane.

Abstract: Disclosed is a telescoping wing locking system for use in aircraft having wings that collapse and expand in a telescoping fashion, such as aircraft designed for use on roadways. Companion wing segments are locked in place when gas is supplied to inflate a bladder located between overlapping sections of the wing segments. Wing segments are unlocked when gas is removed from the bladder so that it deflates and allows the wing segments to be moved relative to each other. The wing segments may be locked in any position relative to each other in which a section of one segment overlaps a section of the neighboring segment with the bladder between.

Abstract: A system and method that enables trains to rapidly accelerate through grade crossings from station stops or civil speed restrictions is disclosed. In some embodiments, equipped trains and grade-crossing controllers communicate wirelessly to address operational limitations pertaining to the grade crossings. In conjunction with the train's equipment, conventional crossing controllers are augmented with a communications capability and logic to accept commands to operate in a “Prediction” mode or a “Motion-Sensing” mode. The Prediction mode is the default operating mode for conventional constant-warning grade-crossing prediction controllers. The Motion-Sensing mode is an operating mode whereby the crossing is actuated as soon as an approach circuit detects train motion.

Abstract: The invention relates to fasteners adapted for use in automobile air bag attachment systems. The fastener comprises a hook to engage a vehicle structure during installation and a pin to lock the fastener in place. Advantageously, the hook portion may be quickly installed and will support the air bag assembly while allowing any positional adjustments to be made prior to locking the fastener by depressing the pin until it is fully engaged in the vehicle structure. An embodiment of the invention incorporates both a locking method to prevent the fastener from being disengaged and a method of releasing this lock if needed for servicing. Another aspect of the invention provides a method for reducing the likelihood of improperly installed parts by preventing locking when the fastener is in a partially installed configuration.
