  • Patent number: RE42036
Abstract: A powered towing vehicle having steering wheels and a wheeled trailer is connected to the vehicle for its towing. The wheels of the trailer are connected to a source of power for generating forward and rearward movement of the trailer. These wheels also are connected to a source of power for turning such wheels in order to steer the trailer. These wheels further are connected to a sensor to sense the position of the trailer wheels as they are being steered. The steering wheels of the towing vehicle also are connected to a sensor to sense the position of the vehicle wheels as they are being steered. The trailer steering wheel sensor is displayed to an operator of the vehicle so that the vehicle operator knows the relative position of each of the steering wheels. The trailer steering power source is connected to the vehicle so that an operator of the vehicle can remotely steer the wheels of the trailer.

  • Patent number: RE42037
Abstract: A current-sensing and correction circuit having programmable temperature compensation circuitry that is incorporated into a pulse width modulation controller of a buck mode DC—DC converter. The front end of the controller contains a sense amplifier, having an input coupled via a current feedback resistor to a common output node of the converter. The impedance of a MOSFET, the current through which is sampled by a sample and hold circuit is controlled by the sense amplifier unit. A sensed current correction circuit is coupled between the sample and hold circuit and the controller, and is operative to supply to the controller a correction current having a deterministic temperature-compensating relationship to the sensed current. The ratio of correction current to sensed current equals a value of one at a predetermined temperature, and has other values at temperatures other than at that temperature.

  • Patent number: RE42039
Abstract: This invention improves the performance and lowers the cost of DC to AC inverters and the systems where these inverters are used. The performance enhancements are most valuable in renewable and distributed energy applications where high power conversion efficiencies are critical. The invention allows a variety of DC sources to provide power thru the inverter to the utility grid or directly to loads without a transformer and at very high power conversion efficiencies. The enabling technology is a novel boost converter stage that regulates the voltage for a following DC to AC converter stage and uses a single semiconductor switching device. The AC inverter output configuration is either single-phase or three-phase.

  • Patent number: RE42040
Abstract: A switching element has an ion conductor capable of conducting metal ions for use in an electrochemical reaction therein, a first electrode and a second electrode which are disposed in contact with said ion conductor and spaced a predetermined distance from each other, and a third electrode disposed in contact with the ion conductor. When a voltage for causing the switching element to transit to an on state is applied to the third electrode, metal is precipitated between the first electrode and the second electrode by metal ions, electrically interconnecting the first electrode and the second electrode. When a voltage for causing the switching element to transit to an off state is applied to the third electrode, the precipitated metal is dissolved to electrically disconnect the first electrode and the second electrode from each other.

  • Patent number: RE42042
Abstract: A control system is provided for controlling the aspects of data conversion and routing of data passing between two disparate communications networks. The system operates from a network-connected computer node running a software application. The computer node acquires the data protocol associated with the data en-route from one network to another and using the software application, formulates the required conversion commands and routing instructions based on information provided by the protocol signal. The generated commands are routed to the appropriate conversion nodes through which the data will pass into the next network. The conversion nodes apply the commands routed to them by the computer node to the appropriate data passing through the nodes. In one application, the control system combines the total hardware and software functions of the computer node and the conversion nodes and is provided to operate from one network-connected node.

Abstract: A portable golf ball cleaning device carried in a golfer's pocket for ball washing on the green. A cleaning element comprising a soft, flexible, absorbent material absorbs and retains a cleaning liquid and wipes a golf ball. An open container comprising a soft, flexible, resilient, waterproof material holds the cleaning element in a waterproof cavity formed by a bottom and a wall with an upper edge forming an opening. A mechanical fit or waterproof adhesive retains the cleaning element in the waterproof cavity. A vertical gap between the cleaning element and the upper edge of the wall keeps the cleaning element from prolonged contact with the pocket. A lateral cushion formed by the wall in the vertical gap keeps a ball engaged on the cleaning element during wiping. In a cleaning tool sheet (1), fiber bundles (3) are laminated on one side face of a base sheet (2); the central parts in the direction of flow of the fibers constituting the fiber bundles (3) are joined by a central joining part (4) continuously formed in the central part of the base sheet (2) and joined at a spot-form joining part (7) formed intermittently on a parallel line between the central joining part (4) and two end edges (2a, 2b) parallel therewith. The two ends (31a, 31b) in the direction of flow of the fibers of the fiber bundles (3) are not joined to the base sheet (2). An attaching part (8) for attaching onto a holding member is provided at both ends of the base sheet (2).

Abstract: A wringer has a support surface and a first wringer surface depending from the support surface to a second wringer surface having perforations and curving to a free edge substantially below the support surface. The second wringer surface may be curved in an approximately 180 degree arc. The first wringer surface may be flat and also perforated. The support surface may be formed as an inverted channel structure with a closed upper surface and an angled surface extending away from the first wringer surface. The angled surface may extend at an angle approximately 45 degrees. The wringer may be used with one or more buckets, where the wringer is supported from the rim of one bucket or from the adjacent rims of two buckets. A flat first wringer surface may be used to ring a flat mop, and the curved second wringer surface may be used to wring a round mop.

  • Patent number: 7870643
Abstract: The invention relates to a hinge arrangement, in particular for a tailgate of a motor vehicle, having a first hinge part, in particular firmly connected to the body, which is knuckle-jointed with a second hinge part, and having an energy accumulator, the force application points of which are positioned in relation to both hinge parts in such a way that the force released upon its discharge supports the rotation of the two hinge parts around the hinge axis from a first rotation position, which corresponds in particular to a closed position of the tailgate, to a second rotation position, which corresponds in particular to the open position of the tailgate. To obtain useful improvements, a transposition device is proposed for transposing at least one force application point in one of the two rotation positions, so that after a transposition onto the hinge parts a force acts in the opposite rotation direction.
