Abstract: The invention discloses a novel method and apparatus to determine the degree of residual mass unbalance and a corrective balance solution for a rotating assembly having a non-vertical axis of rotation. When the center of mass of the rotating assembly is not concentric with the axis of rotation, the condition of unbalance exists. When the rotating assembly is driven by a motor or drives a generator, fluctuations in power are produced proportional to the degree of unbalance. The method and apparatus to determine the degree of mass imbalance consists of measuring the average instantaneous real power over an interval of time, calculating the Fourier Transform of the demodulated signal, establishing the peak amplitude and phase associated with the angular velocity of the rotating assembly and calculating the amount of unbalance.

Abstract: A driving mechanism of a steering wheel includes a sector gear driven by a gear shaft to rotate on a gear shaft linked together with the sector gear, and a displacement plate having one end fixed with the gear plate shaft and another end pivotally connected with two directional pull rods that are further connected with a directional joint of two front wheels respectively. When a steering wheel is turned left or right, the gear shaft is to be rotated to simultaneously drive the sector gear and the gear shaft to turn around, so that the displacement plate, the directional pull rods, the directional joints and the front wheels can be concurrently driven to undertake an angular displacement for changing a car's direction. Thus, the driving mechanism of the invention has a relatively small size, with cost lowered as well.

Abstract: A shifter assembly for use in conjunction with an electronically shifted manual transmission of a vehicle includes a shift lever, a shift knob disposed on the shift lever, a guide and at least one shifter tactile sensor. The shift lever may be disposed in the guide and is operable to move relative to the guide. The guide includes a pattern of shift lever positions corresponding to specific gear ratios of the transmission of the vehicle. When the shift lever is positioned in a specific shift lever position, a corresponding gear ratio of the transmission may be selected. The at least one shifter tactile sensor may be disposed on the shift knob. When pressure is applied to the shift knob, the at least one shifter tactile sensor may output a tactile signal indicating that pressure is being applied to the shift knob.

Abstract: A shift-lock mechanism includes a lock member to lock or unlock a transmission range-switching member, a solenoid to be operated in response to operation of a brake on a vehicle, and an engagement arm to be engaged releasably with the solenoid. A plunger of the solenoid is movable between a retracted position outside a movement path of the engagement arm, and an engagement position is stretched across the movement path of the engagement arm. When a selector lever is manually moved into a parking range zone, the plunger is moved forwardly from the retracted position to the engagement position to allow a peripheral wall of the plunger to stop movement of the engagement arm. In response to a braking operation, the plunger is moved backwardly from the engagement position to the retracted position to allow stopping of the movement of the engagement arm to be released.
