Abstract: A glazing panel system is provided with improved glazing panels, retention clips and/or U-shaped connectors. The retention clip may engage the glazing panels at locations lower than top ends of the upstanding seam flanges. In one embodiment, an internal U-shaped connector is positioned to engage the seam flanges while an external U-shaped connector covers the internal connector and the seam between adjacent glazing panels. The glazing panels may be formed with pockets adjacent the base of the upstanding seam flanges to receive a portion of the retention clip to apply retention forces at locations below the upper ends of the seam flanges. The retention clips may be formed with an upper transverse portion that is movable relative to the base portion of the clip to accommodate panel expansion and contraction. Also, a thicker plate or portion may be provided at a top flange for the retention clip to provide increased resistance to uplift loads trying to bend the flange.

Abstract: An improved net cutting assembly that may be used with an agricultural baler net wrapping system. More particularly, an up-cut net knife for improved cutting of wrapping material (e.g., a net) used to wrap bales of crop material in an agricultural baler. The up-cut net knife assembly improves net cutting performance by providing an up-cut net knife that moves in the same direction as the net whereby the motion of the net helps the knife get into the cut position. Further, embodiments of the up-cut knife assembly move the up-cut knife cutting edge at substantially the same speed and in the same direction as the net to be cut. This motion of the up-cut knife allows the up-cut knife to be lifted up into the net motion using a driver and then to continue on with no relative motion—or at least minimal relative motion of the knife to the net—until the knife gets into the cut position. In the cut position, the knife stops and the net is pulled against the knife blade resulting in cutting the net.

Abstract: An exhaust system that can improve emissions treatment by reducing certain emissions species. The exhaust system draws air into the exhaust system from an air source, when exhaust pressure decreases to a threshold so that air can enter the exhaust system. The exhaust system is in a genset engine. The air source is a pressurized air source, such as an existing fan of the genset engine. A portion of the air generated by the air source is pulled off so that it flows directly toward the exhaust system, using a one-way valve and conduit that fluidly connects the air source to the exhaust system.

Abstract: A secondary air supply device for an internal combustion engine includes: an electric air pump that supplies secondary air into an exhaust pipe of the internal combustion engine; a controller that controls actuation of the electric air pump according to an operating state of the internal combustion engine; and an air flow mechanism that rotates the electric air pump by causing air in the electric air pump to flow. The controller uses the air flow mechanism to rotate the electric air pump before energizing the electric air pump.

Abstract: A hydraulic drive system for use in driving a power generator has a hydraulic pump having an input for rotationally driving the hydraulic pump, a flow control valve in fluid communication with the hydraulic pump, a hydraulic motor having a first output and a second output coupled to a hydraulic fluid source, and a pressure regulator positioned intermediate the flow control valve and the hydraulic motor. The pressure regulator is in fluid communication with the hydraulic motor and the flow control valve, and maintains a hydraulic pressure at its input that is higher than at its output to prevent the hydraulic system from stalling. The system further comprises a power generator having an input shaft rotationally coupled to the hydraulic motor first output.

Abstract: The vertical gravity/buoyancy power generator relates to the generation of power by harnessing the gravitational and buoyant forces which act on an apparatus in a natural or man-made liquid medium and convert such forces into mechanical energy. More specifically, the vertical gravity/buoyancy power generator improves on operably different, fluid medium power generators by efficiently utilizing the gravitational force as efficiently as the buoyant force is harnessed. The vertical gravity/buoyancy power generator includes methods, systems and devices for a plurality of weighted containers which ascend and descend in a primarily vertical plane and which drive one or more chains, belts or conveyances with rotating sprockets or pulleys on horizontally aligned shafts in primarily a vertical arrangement upon such apparatus. In the descent phase the containers are open on both ends (FIG.

Abstract: The invention relates to a power plant comprising a float (3) arranged to float in a body of water. The float is attached to anchoring means (7) via at least one telescopically extendable leg (5). Flow of a hydraulic medium is generated when the leg is extended or retracted, which activates generation of electrical power in a generator. The power plant is provided with a delay device (13) which controls the flow of hydraulic fluid, such that power generation is evened out. The delay device (13) may control the generation of power such that it compensates for nip and flood tide. The invention further relates to such power plant where the float (3) comprises a cavity for storage of hydraulic fluid in the plant.

Abstract: A shape memory alloy actuation apparatus comprises a movable element suspended on a support structure by a plurality of flexures which are non-uniformly configured to apply forces having differing components perpendicular to the movement axis generating a net moment around the centre of mass of the movable element in an opposite sense from the moment generated by the actuation force. A shape memory alloy wire is coupled between the support structure and an intermediate body engaging the movable element through a pivotal contact to avoid lateral force transfer. Also coupled between the support structure and the intermediate body is a resilient biassing flexure plastically deformed in a partial region thereof. The shape memory alloy wire is crimped by a crimping member fixed to the support structure holding the shape memory alloy wire against a curved surface from which the shape alloy memory wire extends to the movable element.
