Abstract: This invention was intended to develop an earth working equipment and system for digging holes in ground particularly in agricultural soils for needs including but not limited to transplanting of seedlings of flowers, vegetables, fruits, bushes, and shrubs; and for making holes for other purposes where hollow-cylindrical shapes are desired. One very important feature of the equipment is the provision of a removable or embeddable cylindrical retaining wall around the hole being dug thus preventing hole-deforming avalanches of soils, common in trowel assisted hole digging that results in V-shaped rather than cylindrical shaped holes. This provision and other features of the equipment ensure formation of consistent hollow-cylindrical holes effectively, efficiently and economically. The equipment consists of a tilling tool to loosen the soil, a screw conveyor to dig into and transport the soil away, and a cylindrical retaining wall to maintain cylindrical shape of the hole by preventing soil avalanches.

Abstract: A seed delivery system for use in a seeding or planting machine that removes the seed from a seed meter by capturing the seed therefrom. The delivery system then moves the seed down to a lower discharge point and accelerates the seed horizontally rearward to a speed approximately equal to the forward travel speed of the seeding machine such that the seed, when discharged has a low or zero horizontal velocity relative to the ground. Rolling of the seed in the trench is thus reduced. Furthermore, as the seed only has a short drop from the outlet to the bottom of the seed trench, the seed has little vertical speed to induce bounce. The delivery system uses a brush belt to capture, move and accelerate the seed. By capturing the seed and moving it from the meter to the discharge, the seed is held in place relative to other seeds and the planter row unit. As a result, the seeds are isolated from row unit dynamics thereby maintaining seed spacing.

This hull extension, consisting of two buoyant sponsons extending astern of the motor output, supports the weight of the entire motor propulsion unit, extends the planing surface, shifts the center of buoyancy rearward, resulting in an ability to maintain an even fore-aft keel in a very lightweight hull. Under acceleration and cruising, high pressure under the extensions along with an improved center of gravity keeps the boat from tail dragging. Interior chines formed as part of the inner lower surface of the sponsons provide straight tracking under power, even without other hydrodynamic aids, and provide resistance to oversteer or “slideout” in turns. The long sponson extensions protect an outdrive system from contact at the stern or sides of the boat.

When the tape is stretched as a piece is torn or cut away, an orientation of the polymer elements, or a polarization configuration, or a thickness of the dichroic layers is changed, changing a color, opacity, or reflectance visually evident at the end of the tape. In other embodiments, the visual indicator comprises one or more visible lines that run diagonally across the width of the tape, either in successive sections or along the entire length, so that a discontinuity between the line at the end and at an adjacent point on the remainder of the tape indicates the disposition of the end and an approximate amount of tape remaining.

Abstract: [Object] To provide a catalytic chemical vapor deposition apparatus capable of prolonging the service life of a catalyst wire. [Solving Means] In a catalytic chemical vapor deposition apparatus (1) according to the present invention, a catalyst wire (6) including a tantalum wire and a boride layer formed on a surface of the tantalum wire is used. The boride of the metal tantalum (tantalum boride) is harder than the metal tantalum. Therefore, by using the tantalum wire having the boride layer formed on the surface thereof as a catalyst wire, it is possible to reduce thermal expansion of the catalyst wire, improve mechanical strength, and prolong the service life. Further, by performing energization heating of the catalyst wire (6) by continuous energization, it is further possible to prolong the service life of the catalyst wire (6).

The nozzle is directed so as to discharge fluid towards the discharge end of the teat cup. When milking is terminated, treatment fluid is injected through the nozzle into the head portion of the liner just prior to and/or as the teat cup is being withdrawn from the teat and, the teat cup wipes the fluid down the teat so as substantially to coat the teat. When the teat cup falls into an inverted rest position, after take-off, the interior of the liner may be flushed and dried with disinfectant, water and compressed air discharged upwardly into the liner by the nozzle. The discharge end of the teat cup may be fitted with a shut-off valve which can be actuated to prevent ingress of treatment and cleansing fluids into the milk tubes during the treatment and cleansing cycle.
