  • Patent number: 8056189
Abstract: A protective element for textile lashing or fixing devices for lifting, fixing or lashing objects, comprises a protective layer which is intended for arrangement between the lashing or fixing device and the respective object. The protective element allows the advantages of known protective elements to be used, but at the same time ensures improved force transmission. The intention is also to provide a lashing or fixing device which can apply the forces required for lifting, fixing or lashing an object with more uniform loading across its length. This is achieved in that the protective layer is formed from a textile backing fabric which carries a textile material at least on its surface associated with the lashing or fixing device, the textile material, owing to its shaping, its arrangement and/or its material properties, in the state abutting the lashing or fixing device having different sliding properties to the backing fabric.

  • Patent number: 8056192
Abstract: An improved clamp constricting objects to be held in place including hoses wires tubes. One embodiment having some or all plastic molded parts one of which is a support base (10) to one side is attached a partially grooved or fully flexible grooved band strap (13) where as the other end is free to enter a band strap entrance port (26) thereby contact is made with a matching grooved rotating cylinder (12) held by two bearings. The band strap (13) advances encircling objects to be held. The support base top (11) is closed and locked by the rapid release hold down top lock (20) confining the grooved molded rotating cylinder (12) engaging a flexible paw (17) allowing advancing rotation only, preventing the grooved molded band strap (13) from retracting. Six sided wrench or tool is inserted into the cylinder cavity (15) forcefully rotating the grooved rotating cylinder (12) advancing the flexible grooved band strap (13) through exit port (27) being held down by band strap retainers (18).

  • Patent number: 8056225
Abstract: The present invention is a method for manufacturing an electrical connector comprising an insulative housing with a base side and an opposed side and lateral sides interposed between said base side and said opposed side and at least one conductive contact including a first leg that extends from the base side of the insulative housing, the at least one conductive contact further including a second leg extending laterally adjacent the top side of the housing. In this method there is provided a mold comprising a first die and an opposed second die all defining an interior cavity and an exterior area. A molding compound input port extends between the exterior area and the interior cavity. The conductive contact is then positioned in the interior cavity such that the second leg extends adjacent the second die along an entirety of a length of the second die between first and second bent ends.

  • Patent number: 8056226
Abstract: A dual interface separable insulated connector comprising a faraday cage molded over a bus bar for use in an electric power system and a method of manufacturing the same are provided. The faraday cage can be disposed within a semi-conductive shell. The configuration of the separable insulated connector can provide for easier bonding between the faraday cage and insulating material. Additionally, the configuration can eliminate or reduce the need to coat the bus bar with an adhesive agent and to smooth the metal bus bar to remove burrs, other irregularities, and sharp corners from the bar. Manufacturing the dual interface separable insulated connector can include molding a semi-conductive rubber faraday cage over a conductive bus bar, inserting the faraday cage into a shell, and injecting insulating material between the faraday cage and shell.
