  • Patent number: 8161984
Abstract: In an example embodiment, a device for generating a cleaning foam includes a female housing and a male plug. The plug includes an aperture into which a fluid flows from another component of the cleaning system. The plug includes a premix chamber which receives the fluid from the aperture and into which a gas is injected to form a foam. In an example embodiment, the chamber is a hollow cylinder and the gas is injected into the cylinder through channels which are tangential to the cylinder. The plug also includes a solid cylinder with a continuous helical indentation on the outside of the solid cylinder. When the male plug is inserted into the female housing, the continuous helical indentation and the inner surface of the housing form a helical channel through which the foam flows and is further mixed on its way back into the cleaning system.

Abstract: The modular tire chain apparatus provides for ease of installation due to connecting modules that allow a user to assemble the apparatus on a tire and wheel with greater ease than having to struggle with a continuous tire chain. A further advantage of the modules is that any number of modules needed to surround a tire and wheel are easily attached together, thereby providing a substantially universal fit to a plethora of tire sizes. And, the tie strap with spring with hook aids in securing the modules to a tire. Further the ties are secured, one to the other and to the outer members. The ratchet lock further ensures snug fit of the apparatus. • Patent number: 8162025
Abstract: A shutter slat assembly for a storm shutter, the slat assembly including an elongated horizontally extending shutter slat having longitudinally extending formed edges configured to slidably, interlockingly connect with the next adjacent slat for limited pivotal movement between adjacent connected slats sufficient for rolled-up storage of the storm shutter. Each slat has a central port formed therethrough for viewing and light transmission through the port. An elongated transparent panel preferably having a cross section similar to that of the slat includes enlarged edge portions configured and spaced for dependent slidable engagement between and within inwardly facing grooves formed inwardly adjacent to the edges. The transparent panel covers the port while allowing a person to obtain a view and permit light transmission therethrough.

  • Patent number: 8162026
Abstract: A spring assembly is provided for an upward acting door that travels on a travel path while opening. The assembly includes a shaft, a torsion spring and a second spring. The torsion spring is connected to the shaft and provides a lifting force for the door throughout the travel path. The second spring is connected to the shaft and provides a lifting force for the door during only a portion of the travel path. In another aspect, a spring assembly is provided for an upward acting door that travels on a travel path while closing. The torsion spring is connected to the shaft and provides a weight supporting force for the door throughout the travel path. The second spring is connected to the shaft and provides a weight supporting force for the door during only a portion of the travel path.

  • Patent number: 8162027
Abstract: The present invention provides a combination of a door and door frame defining a door opening. The door frame comprises a horizontal header beam. The door opening has a horizontal top side and a horizontal bottom side, with the horizontal header beam defining the horizontal top side. The door comprises a top panel, a middle panel, a bottom panel, a first horizontal hinge member, a second horizontal hinge member and a third horizontal hinge member, each panel having a horizontal upper edge and a horizontal lower edge. The door is in the closed position when the top panel, the middle panel and the bottom panel are vertically aligned with one another and hanging downwardly from the horizontal header beam in a vertical plane of the door opening, with the horizontal upper edge of each panel above the horizontal lower edge of each respective panel, and the horizontal lower edge of the bottom panel is located in the lowermost position proximate to the horizontal bottom side of the door opening.

  • Patent number: 8162029
Abstract: A forging apparatus and a forging method for rheo-casting are disclosed, in which primary rheo-casting using an upper mold and a lower mold, casting of a hub region of a product material using a first roller unit and casting of a rim region of the product material using a second roller unit are accomplished in series, enabling vehicular wheels having relatively complex shapes to be cast via a single casting process. Further, the product material includes wrought 6000 series aluminum alloys, which are easy to process and have relatively high strength and low weight, thus being suitable for the manufacture of vehicular wheels having complex shapes. Furthermore, recycling of the product material is possible.

  • Patent number: 8162030
Abstract: The invention relates to a mould for casting metal, having a plurality of temperature measuring devices (300) that are arranged in a wall (100) of the mould in order to detect the temperature distribution at that location. In order to make it easier to install the plurality of temperature measuring devices in the wall and in order to increase the reliability of the measurement results from said devices, it is proposed according to the invention to arrange the temperature measuring devices (300) such that they are positioned fixedly with respect to one another in a module (400), such that the temperature measuring devices together with the module form a structural unit which can be preassembled before the mould is installed. The structural unit is then fastened in or to the wall of the mould as the mould is being assembled.
