  • Patent number: 8162388
Abstract: A body side construction for an automotive vehicle is formed from multiple tubular members arranged to maximize the strength of the body side members while minimizing the amount of material utilized in the manufacture of the body side members and, thus reducing the cost of manufacture of the automobile. The body side members are formed from tubular members preferably manufactured through a hydroforming process. The tubular members extend from the front pillar to the rear pillar and can vary in number and in size as appropriate for the load being carried by the body side members. The tubular members can also be used to transition from the body side portion of the automobile to the roof structure to provide an integrated frame assembly. The formation of the body side members from multiple tubular members also creates an internal reinforcement web to further enhance the strength of the section.

  • Patent number: 8162390
Abstract: When a supporting frame is assembled to a seat, the child chair is used as a high chair. When the supporting frame is detached from the seat, the child chair may be served as a booster. The seat includes storages with straps connected. Each storage is covered with a cover selectively configured between a closed position and an opened position. When the supporting frame is detached from the seat, the covers may be moved to the opened position, covering coupling sections of the seat so that the supporting frame is not permitted to assemble to the seat; the straps are reachable outward the storages to secure the seat to an adult chair. When the straps are stored in the storages, the covers may be moved to the closed position, covering the storages and the coupling sections are exposed. The supporting frame is then permitted to assemble to the seat.

  • Patent number: 8162425
Abstract: An image recording apparatus improves the operating efficiency while preventing trouble due to the contact of a recording medium with a discharging surface of a recording head. A distance sensor for detecting the distance of the leading edge of a sheet from a conveying surface is provided upstream from the inkjet head in the conveying direction of the sheet. A gap control unit controls a frame moving mechanism to move the inkjet head up so that a gap between the discharging surface and the conveying surface increases when the distance detected by the distance sensor is above a first distance, and the gap distance may be increased by different amounts depending on the distance detected by the distance sensor. A discharging control unit controls the inkjet head to discharge ink droplets after the gap is increased.

  • Patent number: 8162426
Abstract: A recording apparatus includes a calculator, a predictor, and a head controller. Assuming that first ejection signals are supplied to a recording head, the calculator calculates variations in total amount of liquid to be ejected, for respective constant periods of time. The predictor predicts, based on one or more calculated variations, whether a pressure difference between the atmosphere and liquid falls below a threshold value, the atmosphere and the liquid sandwiching a meniscus formed in one of the ejection openings. When the predictor predicts that the pressure difference falls below the threshold value, the head controller controls signal supply to the recording head so that second ejection signals are supplied to the recording head, the second ejection signals having a lower frequency than first ejection signals.
