  • Patent number: RE43357
Abstract: A digital-camera processor receives a stream of mono-color pixels in a Bayer pattern from a sensor. Two lines of the pattern are stored in a 2-line buffer. Red, Blue, and Green interpolators receive a 3×3 array of pixels from the 2-line buffer. The interpolators generate missing color values by interpolation. For green, horizontal interpolation is performed for odd lines, while vertical interpolation is performed for even lines. Horizontal and vertical interpolation is thus alternated with alternate lines. Edge detection is performed at the same time as interpolation, on the green pixels from the 2-line buffer. An edge-detection filter is multiplied by the green pixels in the 3×3 array from the 2-line buffer. Different edge-detection filters are used for odd and even lines. These filters are modified to detect edges running perpendicular to the direction of the green interpolation filter. Edges in the same direction as the interpolation filter are ignored.

  • Patent number: RE43358
Abstract: A data reading apparatus for reading and/or scanning data from a first and second scanned medium comprising a first transportation path P1, along which the first scanned medium is conveyed and a second transportation path P2, along which the second scanned medium is conveyed and wherein the first and second transportation paths each have a common mutually shared middle transportation path through which both scanned media must pass and a common data reader reading data from each scanned medium respectively. Checks S are conveyed on the first transportation path P1, cards C are conveyed on the second transportation path P2 at a different transportation height from that of the first transportation path P1 with data read from the respective media as they are being conveyed. Because the transportation heights differ, scanned media can be transported on different transportation paths without involving special switching devices.

Abstract: An invention is provided for low Low power searching in a CAM using uses sample words to save power in the compare lines. The invention A method includes comparing a sample section of stored data to a corresponding sample section of search data on a plurality of rows in the CAM. If a sample section of the stored data on any row of the plurality of rows is equivalent to the corresponding sample section of the search data, a remaining section of search data is allowed to propagate to the local compare lines coupled to the remaining section of the stored data of each row. However, if the sample section of the stored data is different from the corresponding sample section of the search data, the local compare lines coupled to the remaining section of the stored data on each row are latched.

  • Patent number: RE43361
Abstract: The present invention is a telecommunications system having separate switch fabric and switch intelligence. The system comprises a switch fabric, a switch intelligence, and a feature processor. The switch intelligence is logically separated from the switch fabric and comprises a switch fabric proxy, a facility service, a connection manager service, and a call segment instance service. The switch fabric proxy is coupled to the switch fabric via a vendor-specific first Application Programming Interface (API). The switch fabric proxy supports a second API, which is common across all vendors, representing functions supported by the switch fabric. A facility instance, which is instantiated by a facility service using a facility model, represents the bearer and signaling facilities of a party to a call, and interacts with the switch fabric proxy via the second API to communicate with the switch fabric.

Abstract: A system for communications in a distributed computing environment is provided that includes an application layer (132), a proxy layer (134), a reference layer (136), and an object layer (138). The application layer (132) provides communications between an application (108) and an operating entity. The proxy layer (134) provides communications between the application (108) and a remote proxy (154). The remote proxy (154) is a local representative for a requested object (110) residing in an address space different from an address space in which the application (108) resides. The reference layer (136) provides communications between the remote proxy (154) and the requested object (110). The reference layer (136) includes communication protocol details to support transmission of messages across a network (106) linking the remote proxy (154) and the requested object (110). The object layer (138) includes the requested object (110).

  • Patent number: RE43378
Abstract: A method for mapping an electronic digital circuit to a Look Up table (LUT) based Programmable Logic Deviceoperates by selecting an unmapped or partially mapped LUT, and identifying a group of circuit elements for mapping on the selected LUT based on the available capacity of the selected LUT and the mapping constraints. The identified circuit elements are mapped onto the selected LUT. The identification of circuit elements and mapping is carried out while taking into consideration the Cascade Logic associated with the selected LUT. The process continues until all circuit elements have been mapped. The group of circuit elements is mapped to the cascade logic prior to mapping on the LUTs. Conversely, the cascade logic is incorporated only after all circuit elements have initially been mapped onto LUTs or some elements remain unmapped after all LUTs have been utilized. The mapping constraints include timing, placement, and size constraints.

Abstract: Exoskeleton for physical activity, specially snow skiing, for preventing knee, leg and hip injuries by preventing the excessive torsion of the knee and other movements that could be dangerous for the person wearing it. The exoskeleton diverts the potential dangerous forces to the strong parts of the body and resists the generated forces when it reaches dangerous anatomical positions. The exoskeleton includes at least one first support member configured to couple above the knee; at least one second support member configured to couple below the knee; both of them linked together by a linkage assembly that limits that the coupling to the body of the support members reach dangerous positions; and at least one angle limitation mechanism that limits the relative rotation between the first support member and the second support member.
