Abstract: When electrode films are prepared for lithium electrochemical cells, problems are often encountered in laminating the films with an appropriate intervening electrolyte layer. This presents a significant challenge because proper alignment of the three layers and complete lamination at the interfaces are crucial to good cell performance. Often lamination is imperfect with gaps and defects at the interfaces. The disclosure herein describes a method of casting or extruding a polymer electrolyte directly onto an electrode film to create an electrode assembly with a continuous, defect-free interface. In some arrangements, there is some slight intermixing of the layers at the interface. A complete cell can be formed by laminating two such electrode assemblies to opposite sides of an additional electrolyte or to one another.

Abstract: Improved systems and methods for producing dental restorations and ceramic materials for such restorations are disclosed. Optical properties, preferably including color and translucence characteristics, of a tooth or teeth of a patient are measured with a shade measuring instrument. The tooth to be restored is prepared, and a physical or virtual dental impression is created. A prescription for the restoration, which typically includes color, translucence and thickness information, is sent to the restoration fabrication facility either electronically or physically. A recipe and/or a mixture of ceramics are generated for the restoration, with multiple layers being specified, based on the measured optical properties. The recipe algorithm may adapt, or process checks may be performed, based on measurements of fabricated layers. Preferably, dental ceramics are specified to bracket the region of color space relevant to human teeth, and a reduced set of ceramic materials are manufactured and distributed.

Abstract: A rotary electric shaver includes an outer cutter having an upper surface with annular shaving sections, formed with hair entry apertures, and an inner cutter having small blades, which rotate in sliding contact with the outer cutter from below the shaving sections. The outer cutter has a plurality of concentric annular shaving sections. The shaving section adjacent to an outer periphery is lower than the shaving section adjacent to a center. The shaving sections are formed on a plane horizontal to a central axis. This makes it possible to increase a shaving area, to precisely trace the curved surface of a concave portion of skin and to come in contact with the skin with a proper contact pressure, thus permitting smooth shaving of the concave portion. The shaver has a simple structure with a smaller number of components, featuring easier assembly and easier removal of hair bits.

Abstract: A rotary electric shaver includes an outer cutter which has an upper surface with annular shaving faces, in which many hair-entry apertures are formed, and an inner cutter having small blades, which rotate in sliding contact with the lower surface of the outer cutter from below the shaving faces. The outer cutter (10) has a plurality of concentric annular shaving faces (16, 18), which are integrally formed therewith. The density of the hair-entry apertures (65) is varied in the circumferential direction of the plurality of annular shaving faces (16, 18). The rotary electric shaver increases the shaving area of the outer cutter to improve shaving efficiency and also restrains excessively close shaving thereby to protect skin even when the contact pressure of an area near the center of the outer cutter against skin increases.

Abstract: An electric motor for an electric appliance having a rotor, a stator, and a coil for the generation of a magnetic field. The motor has a first magnet arrangement having a first permanent magnet which, by interaction with a magnetic field generated using the coil, generates a force for the excitation of a rotary movement of the rotor. A second magnet arrangement may also be provided which has at least one second permanent magnet is arranged such that a translatory oscillatory movement of the rotor is effected by the Lorentz force acting in the field of the second permanent magnet on the conductors of the coil through which current flows.

The primary blade is located at a front end of the cartridge and the final blade is located at a rear end of the cartridge. The primary and final blades have blade edges that extend in parallel to a length of the housing. An angle ?p between the primary blade and a blade plane is greater than an angle ?f between the final blade and the blade plane. Abstract: An improved eating fork includes a conventional handle and an extended flat body portion with a plurality of tines that generally taper continuously from narrowest to widest towards the open ends of the fork. The tines taper outward up to the maximum relative width towards the open end of the fork, and the thickness of the tines in this invention reduces gradually towards the open ends. By the increased width and a reduced thickness of the tines towards the end, this invention provides more efficiency in spearing a food item, in scooping a food item, in capturing through a twisting motion of the tines, and in holding or retaining the food item once it has either been initially speared, scooped, or twisted, than a conventional fork.
