Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger comprising at least one heat conducting conduit for passage of a first medium and at least one block of an open cell porous medium for passage of a second medium. The method comprises providing at least one groove in the open cell porous medium. Thereafter, the porous medium is bent in a direction such that at least part of the grooves are opened and heat conducting conduits are applied in this at least one opened groove. Thereafter, the porous medium is rebend such that the heat conducting conduits are locked in said open cell porous medium.

The housing (1) has, in the area of its opening (2), a section (7), which is prepared by machining and which is deformed by a cold forming process. A process for manufacturing a radial joint includes: manufacturing the housing blank, machining of section (7) close to the opening (2) of housing (1), inserting the joint ball (5) of ball pivot (3) into the interior space (4) of housing (1), cold forming of the opening-side edge section of housing (1) until a metallic overlap (13) is attained between the joint ball (5) and housing (1).

Abstract: A sight and range finder for a projectile launching device are disclosed. The range finder calculates a range between a target and a projectile launching device, and transmits a signal indicative of the range. The sight visually aligns the target with the projectile launching device. A drive assembly moves an alignment member of the sight, and at least one processor receives the signal and actuates the drive assembly to move the alignment portion a selected distance based on the range.

Abstract: A highly portable, high-powered infrared laser source is produced by intermittent operation of a quantum cascade laser power regulated to a predetermined operating range that permits passive cooling. The regulation process may boost battery voltage allowing the use of a more compact, low-voltage batteries.

Abstract: An articulated arm can include a plurality of articulated arm members, a probe, a receiving portion at a distal end comprising a threaded portion, and a base at a proximal end. A base plate can kinematically mount on the receiving portion and have a hole positioned such that the probe passes through the hole. The base plate can also couple to a laser and an optical sensor located on opposite sides of the hole. A nut can threadably mount to the threaded portion of the receiving portion. Further, a wave spring can mount on the receiving portion between the nut and the base plate. Thus, movement of the nut along the receiving portion can cause the wave spring to urge the base plate against the articulated arm to secure the kinematic mount. The wave spring can then mechanically isolate the base plate from the articulated arm.

Abstract: An ergonomic dual bath towel assembly used to dry simultaneously both the hair and torso of a bather includes a large body towel and a smaller towel for the hair connected by elastic straps to a larger body towel, which is located spaced apart from the smaller hair towel, thereby freeing the neck and upper shoulder area of the bather from being constricted by the wrapped towels. The two towels are used together and the straps keep the shoulders and neck in the un-encumbered spaced apart region while the hair is drying with the smaller towel and the body is dried by the larger towel. The free region between the head and the torso does not constrict the face, neck and upper shoulder areas while the user is drying the hair and torso/legs with the larger towel.

The condenser (18) is a heat exchanger provided for heating up the air stream and cooling down the refrigerant. The main evaporator (20) is a heat exchanger provided for cooling down the air stream and heating up the refrigerant. At least one additional evaporator (22) is arranged in parallel to the main evaporator (20), and is switchably connected to the refrigerant circuit (10).

Abstract: A debris-free device is described to protect the insides of footwear from invasive ingress of unwanted extraneous matter, such as particles, debris and fluids, in order to preserve the feet of the wearer and the inner linings and insoles of the footwear. A cover guard is disclosed made from a chosen material fabric and fastened and sealed using simple means such as elastic, Velcro and a button. The cover prevents dust, dirt, water droplets, sand, filings, wood-shavings etc. from entering and attaching to the inner linings of footwear, causing discomfort to the wearer.

Abstract: A method of removing a T-type fence post from the earth with a powered, mobile piece of equipment controlled by a human operator includes attaching a substantially flat plate to a lift arm of the powered, mobile piece of equipment such that the plate hangs substantially vertically from the lift arm and can move in an arc, the plate having an opening with a top wall and a bottom wall, moving the powered, mobile piece of equipment in a first direction to pull the plate over the fence post such that an upper portion of the post enters the opening with the bottom and upper walls of the opening engaging the post with sufficient force to retain the post in the opening when the post is pulled from the earth and raising the lift arm to pull the post from the earth in a substantially vertical direction.

The ground engaging tool is attached to the adapter, and a post portion of the adapter slides into a slot provided on the lock. The lock is rotated so that the entrance to the slot is blocked and the post cannot slide out of the slot. The lock in this position is in a locking position, and the retention of the post oin the slot of the lock retains the ground engaging tool to the adapter.

Some embodiments provide bait enhancer comprising a first portion of red cabbage juice and a second portion containing at least one of a chemical selected from the group consisting of magnesium hydroxide, aluminum hydroxide and simethicone wherein the first portion and the second portion are mixed together and, perhaps, are believed to react to form a product. Optionally, the first and second portions can be about equal amounts by volume. Abstract: A termite control bait container includes an upper end portion opposite a lower end portion. The bait container includes a chamber containing a termite bait. The lower end portion includes an air-trapping pocket below at least a portion of the bait to reduce intrusion of water through the lower end portion when installed in a selected orientation at least partially below ground.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for controlling insects. Some embodiments provide apparatus (for instance patches) comprising one or more layers of degradable materials impregnated with respective insect-control materials. A first impregnated layer defines an effective thickness and degrades at a rate dependent on an environmental factor to thereby expose a portion of the insect-control material impregnated therein at a depth corresponding to the decreased thickness. As the first degradable layer degrades in a multi-layer insect-control patch it also exposes the second layer (which is attached to the first layer) at a rate corresponding to the degradation of the first layer. A barrier impervious to the second insect-control material can be attached to the second layer. In some embodiments the first and second degradable materials are the same material and the second impregnated layer is formed on the first impregnated layer thereby bonding them together.
