Abstract: An attractive, light, portable, stand-up box that is scratch resistant, fireproof and water-tight. It adapts plastic material for casing combined with a metallic hinge. It includes a coded lock that is complemented by a deadlock position for additional safety. Its surface has a sawtooth structure that acts as a rib for strength and resists scratching as well as providing an esthetic look. An extra bar or other feature can keep the lid leveled at around 110 degrees when open, while two extra large feet enable the box to stand vertically open or closed. A waterproof seal resides in a groove around the lid to prevent water penetration (for example in a fire). An alkaline cement with embedded air bubbles injected into the walls provides fireproofing without adding too much weight.

Abstract: A disc hub assembly includes a shouldered spindle that is secured to a disc opener frame and to which a depth adjustment arm and a gauge wheel arm are connected. The disc hub, to which a ground opener disc is mounted, is disposed on the spindle in a manner that allows the disc to rotate around the spindle. A gauge wheel is connected to the gauge wheel arm. When the depth adjustment arm is rotated between depth setting positions the gauge wheel arm is also rotated. As the gauge wheel is connected to the gauge wheel arm, rotation of the gauge wheel arm causes rotation of the gauge wheel. The depth adjustment arm is spring biased into engagement with an arc of notches on the disc opener frame. The notches define a range of positions at which the depth adjustment arm may be positioned.

Abstract: The invention provides an apparatus and method for enabling at least a minimum pressure and flow rate of stored NH3 from a storage tank to knives for injection into soil, regardless of ambient temperature. A pressure sensor and control valve monitors the pressure of the NH3 flow. If the sensed pressure drops below a desired minimum, e.g., 0.5 psi, a controller drives the control valve to open and also signals ramping up of a boost pump. The boost pump pumps NH3 from the storage tank to ensure maintenance of a minimum flow rate and pressure of NH3 from the tank to the soil. The pump runs on-demand only as needed, thereby reducing power requirements when the pump is not needed to supplement NH3 tank pressure.

Options include medicated pads or inserts as required. The simple yet efficient design and application results in previously unobtainable speed of healing and other recovery factors, while allowing the injured pet (or other animal) to continue his normal lifestyle, nearly unaware of the inventions application. This embodiment completely outdates previously utilized paw or other extremity injury protection methods because of its extreme simplicity and efficiency and ease of use for all involved. The use of the “Elizabethan Collar” becomes obsolete, if necessary at all. The method (Elizabethan Collar) had become the gold standard for treatment of family pets, and is surely loathed by all (including the pets prescribed the treatment) because of its inhumane and ineffective treatment of pets, for extended periods of time. Abstract: A collar useful in animal care, which includes a closure connector and a flexible belt having a free end and distal therefrom a thickened knob. Anchored within the connector's frame, the knob is disposed contiguous with a narrow slot formed therein through which all of the belt, except the knob, is initially threaded. Once looped back around the connector's frame, the free end is pushed through the frame until it re-emerges therefrom. With the collar adjusted to provide a snug fit, one can then activate a closure mechanism, in which the foot of an arm pivotally connected to the frame clamps a short portion of the belt, across its entire transverse width, against the frame. When the belt is so clamped, pulling on it increases forces pressing the foot against the belt. Cast from a silicon rubber/phosphorescent additive mixture, the belt exhibits luminescent properties, making it visible in the dark.

Abstract: A waste heat recovery system connects a working fluid into passages formed within an internal combustion engine. The fluid passages transport the working fluid to high temperature areas of the engine, raising the temperature of the working fluid near the phase change point or above the phase change point. The heated working fluid drives an energy conversion portion located downstream from the engine. The heat absorbed by the working fluid decreases the load on an engine cooling system as well as driving an energy conversion portion, improving fuel efficiency.

Abstract: A cooling module for an engine includes an electric motor and an impeller driven by the motor. The motor includes a stator having brush assemblies, and a rotor having a commutator. Each of the brush assemblies includes a brush holder, a brush slidably received in the brush holder, and a spring. The spring includes a mounting portion, a coiled portion and an elongated unrolled section joining the mounting portion to the coiled portion. The mounting portion is fixed to the brush holder and located closer to the commutator than the coiled portion. The coiled portion presses against a radially outer end of the brush to push the brush towards the commutator. The brush forms a concave for accommodating the coiled portion of the spring. The unrolled section is coiled into the coiled portion as the length of the brush is reduced.
