Abstract: Disclosed is a child-carrying device designed to help a wearer carry a child, baby, infant, or toddler in their arms and accommodate a variety of holding positions. The child-carrying device can include a dual-shoulder harness, a rigid bar secured transversely between frontal strap portions of the harness, and a movable hand/wrist support assembly attached to the bar in a manner that it can freely move along the bar toward either side of the front of the wearer's rib cage, and optionally rotate about the bar. In one embodiment, to use the device, the wearer picks up a child, puts an arm under the child to support the child's weight, and then slips his hand through the hand/wrist support assembly in the form of a hand/wrist sling assembly; once in this position, only minimal exertion is required to carry the child.

The application of this method in a panelized manner and in series is inexpensive.

Abstract: The present invention provides a bulk bin having a greater column strength by being resistant to wall bulging. The bulk bin is formed mainly of multiple wall corrugated board with the corrugations in a first wall oriented vertically and the corrugations in a second wall oriented horizontally. The orthogonal orientation of the corrugations results in a greater wall stiffness and less wall bulging, maintaining the wall in linear vertical orientation and retaining maximum column strength.

Abstract: A method and system is provided for permanently and visibly marking reusable packing crates with a unique mark and using the mark to identify and track the crate in a manufacturing environment. The mark can include a two-dimensional barcode comprised of holes drilled through one or more sidewalls of the crate to produce a unique and permanent pattern for identification. The code can be used to identify a crate uniquely and to assign waypoint data, process management data and content data that can be stored in a computer database. The data can be used for tracking information capabilities and business intelligence in and for manufacturing management systems.

The card data and the PIN are usable by the machine to authorize a user to carry out a financial transfer involving the account.

Abstract: A system and method for securing a financial transaction using a proxy code, which is assigned a transaction account number. An account issuer permanently assigns the proxy code to a transaction account correlated to the transaction device. The proxy code is uploaded onto the transaction device for later use in completing a transaction request. During transaction completion, the proxy code is provided to a merchant system in lieu of any sensitive account information. Since the proxy code is permanently assigned, the number need not be changed or updated on the merchant system once uploaded into a payment device or merchant database. The account issuer may manipulate the sensitive account information without need to alter the information stored on the merchant database. Since the proxy code contains no sensitive information, the sensitive information related to the transaction account is secured from theft.

Abstract: In one example, a portable device having a camera downloads checkout software. The camera is then used to capture images of indicia associated with products in a store, such as bar codes. The portable device incrementally transmits messages to a remote server over a packet data connection of the portable device as the portable device moves through the store based on the captured images. The portable device then transmits a message requesting checkout to the remote server, and in response to receiving a reply to the message requesting checkout, causes a checkout price associated with purchasing the products to be displayed on a display of the portable device.

Abstract: Tax data, e.g., Form W2 data, is encoded as a two-dimensional machine readable representation, such as a QR CODE. Certain tax data is encoded as segments of a QR CODE, and a tax form generated by an employer or payroll processing service and provided to an employee or user includes the QR CODE representing certain W-2 or other tax data. An image of the QR CODE is acquired using a camera of a mobile communication device or computer or other image capture device. When using a Smartphone, a tax preparation application executing on the Smartphone decodes the QR CODE image to determine the tax data, and populates fields of an electronic tax return with decoded data, thus allowing a consumer to prepare an electronic tax return using a mobile communication device.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide time-varying barcodes for information exchange. Specifically, embodiments of the present invention provide a system and method for communicating information between electronic devices via a time-varying barcode image sequence. In a typical embodiment, information to be transmitted is divided into packets. A barcode image is generated from each packet. Each barcode image is displayed sequentially with varying display times based on the complexity of the barcode image. A second electronic device reads and decodes the barcode image sequence until the entire information is received.

Abstract: An non-contact reading device for reducing a loading effect connects with a host to sense a non-contact card. The non-contact reading device includes an antenna carrier board and an electromagnetic-wave absorption barrier. The antenna carrier board includes an antenna to receive a first analog signal from the non-contact card and send a second analog signal to the non-contact card. The electromagnetic-wave absorption barrier includes an electromagnetic-wave absorption material and an insulation board. The electromagnetic-wave absorption material is adapted to attach onto the antenna carrier board and absorbs the electromagnetic wave. The insulation board is attached to the electromagnetic-wave absorption material to cover on the antenna carrier board and maintain a magnetic-field interference at a fixed value.

Abstract: The present invention provides a novel optical reader device and method for calibrating the device. The device executes a calibration module that locates the actual coordinates for a targeting symbol in a captured image. The coordinates are stored as calibration coordinates in the memory. During normal operation of the reader device, the stored calibration coordinates are used to locate a target, such as a bar code. In order to locate the targeting symbol, the calibration module may overlay a template on clusters that may be the targeting symbol. A reasonable accurate comparison identifies the cluster as the targeting symbol. Alternatively, the calibration module may approach a cluster from four frames of the image and identify the cluster's tangents and perimeter. Geometrical calculations are used to identify the center of an identified targeting symbol.

Abstract: A vertical shaft impact crusher includes a rotor for accelerating a first flow of material to be crushed, a first feed element for feeding the first flow of material to the rotor, a housing including a circumferential impact wall section against which the accelerated first flow of material may be crushed, and a second feed element for feeding a second flow of material towards a distributing wall section of the housing and further into the path of the accelerated first flow of material. A cavity ring separates the impact wall section from the distributing wall section. The cavity ring includes at least two ring segments. Supports are provided for supporting the ring segments. A locking device is provided for pressing the ring segments towards at least one of the supports.

Abstract: A crusher which can transmit energy to be applied to a piston to a silicon lump efficiently, and a silicon lump crushing apparatus which can crush a silicon lump into small pieces by suppressing the production of powders as much as possible and enables the automation of the crushing work of a silicon lump. The crusher is constituted such that a hammer head is connected to a piston. When compressed air is not applied to the piston, the hammer head is elastically urged to a standby position and when compressed air is applied to the piston, the hammer head is moved from the standby position to collide with the silicon lump. In the silicon lump crushing apparatus, a plurality of crushers having a hammer head to be collided with a silicon lump are opposed to the silicon lump supported on a support base and spaced apart from one another.
