  • Patent number: 8439255
Abstract: A remote code reader system sends a code read by a code reader to an appropriate function by utilizing identification information assigned specific to a client in order to select a function. A barcode reader and a host computer connected to a network are included therein. An ID (pen ID) of the barcode reader 1 and a barcode as read are transmitted to the host computer through a terminal connected to the network. The host computer decodes the received pen ID to select a CGI which conforms to the pen ID, and sends the barcode to the CGI 9 as selected in order to make the CGI process it.

  • Patent number: 8439260
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system for decoding and recognizing barcode information by using a general camera such as one in a mobile device is disclosed. The invention uses a set of compact point spread functions (PSF) with a squared-shape distribution to restore blurred barcode image for quick and efficient decoding and recognition. Image pre-processing methods are applied to reduce noise and normalize pixel grayscale. On each normalized image, the invention checks if the image contains barcode lines. If there is a barcode, the invention tries to identify the beginning and ending positions of the barcode. The invention selectively decodes multiple scan lines across the barcode and match against predefined barcode models. The best matched barcodes are saved in the history buffer.

  • Patent number: 8439270
Abstract: In a wireless tag with which a wireless communication system whose electric power of a carrier wave from a R/W is high, an overvoltage protection circuit is provided to prevent from generating excessive electric power in the wireless tag when the wireless tag receives excessive electric power. However, as noise is generated by operation of the overvoltage protection circuit, an error of reception occurs in receiving a signal whose modulation factor is small. To solve the problem, the maximum value of generated voltage in the wireless tag is held in a memory circuit after the overvoltage protection circuit operates, then the overvoltage protection circuit is controlled in accordance with the maximum value of generated voltage. The voltages at which the overvoltage protection circuit starts and stops operating are different from each other, and hysteresis occurs between the timing when the overvoltage protection circuit starts and stops operating.

Abstract: A method and a device for computer-aided regulation of rotational speed of a reel spool, when paying out (and reeling in) an on-wound line. The line surface is surveyed by digital imaging and/or an electronic distance measuring device; and incidents of line rising from the spool are captured and reported to an on-board computer which, proportionally to such input, orders variable engaging/releasing of braking force to the brake(s) of the reel to avert backlash.

  • Patent number: 8439291
Abstract: It is provided a webbing winding device with good assembly characteristics of components in a second lock unit. In the webbing winding device, due to a leading end of a spring tab of a guide plate interacting with ratchet teeth of an internal ratchet and a second lock base rotating in the pull-out direction in this state, relative rotation occurs between the guide plate and the second lock base, and a second lock pawl is meshed with the ratchet teeth of the internal ratchet. Since this configuration is not a configuration in which relative rotation between the guide plate and a second lock base is induced by bias force of bias means, such as a compression coil spring or the like, there is no bias force received in the rotational circumferential direction when the guide plate and the second lock base are being assembled, resulting in easy assembly.

Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing paper from a dispensing roll located in a lower dispensing position has a guide track which leads from the top into the lower dispensing position and in which a standby position, defined by a blocking device, for a reserve roll is provided. The dispenser further has a device for detecting a diameter of the dispensing roll and a device for releasing the blocking device for the reserve roll once the paper on the dispensing roll has been used up. The diameter of the dispensing roll is detected by a sensing element which pushes against the circumferential surface of the dispensing roll, is displaced by the dropping reserve roll and returns to its sensing position once the reserve roll has dropped.
