Abstract: A controller for use in a wet environment, such as a controller for a pool or spa, includes a sensor element that generates an electric field having an active region. For the controller, at least one flexible layer is positioned to overlay the sensor element and surround the active region. With this arrangement, a pocket is established between the flexible layer and sensor element. A control circuit that is responsive to the capacitance between the sensor element and the flexible layer is provided. When the flexible layer is deformed, the capacitance changes and the control circuit generates an output signal that corresponds to a particular switch state for a connected device (e.g. pump or heater). For the controller, the control circuit is designed and/or calibrated to maintain a current switch state output in response to the presence of water on the controller and near the active region.

Abstract: A three-dimension (3D) image processing method is disclosed. First and second eye frames of a 3D image is generated from a frame of an original two-dimension (2D) image. First and second mask areas are generated at first and second boundaries of the first eye frame respectively. Third and fourth mask areas are generated at first and second boundaries of the second eye frame respectively. A length of each the first and the fourth mask areas includes a length of a comparison area whose length is determined according to a pixel data difference obtained by comparing the first eye frame with the second eye frame. A length of each the first to the fourth mask areas further includes a length of a first extension border area.

Abstract: Methods and means related to three-dimensional imaging are provided. A serial data stream formatted as respective frames is provided to an electronic display. The data stream is parsed and an initial portion of each frame is buffered. The buffered data is used with rear-time data to write pixels in two or more distinct regions of the display contemporaneously. Shutter glasses are synchronized to left and right images on the display. The extended image presentation periods result in a favorable 3D viewing experience by the user.

Abstract: A 3D animation environment that includes an animation object is generated. A movement speed is assigned to object the 3D animation environment. An animation path containing at least first and second waypoints is generated. An animation sequence is generated by identifying a first section of the animation path connected to the first waypoint. A first animation of the animation object is generated in which the animation object moves along the first section of the path at the movement speed. A spatial gap in the animation path is identified between the first and second waypoints. A second animation of the animation object is generated in which the animation object moves, by keyframe animation, from the first waypoint to the second waypoint. A third animation of the animation object is generated in which the animation object moves along at least a second portion of the path at the movement speed.

Abstract: A navigation apparatus has a display portion displaying a map that is controlled by a remote control as a manipulator. The remote control has a gravitation sensor. The gravitation sensor serves as a position detector to detect a three-dimensional coordinate set (x, y, z) of the remote control. A reduced scale for the displayed map is changed based on a displacement in z axis while the displayed map is moved based on a horizontal displacement in xy-coordinate plane. The remote control may move obliquely in a direction being neither parallel with z axis nor orthogonal to z axis, drawing a U-shaped locus. In this case, the reduced scale is designated as a subject reduced scale based on the lowest coordinate in z axis; the displayed map is moved based on a product obtained by multiplying the horizontal displacement by a unit distance according to the subject reduced scale.

Abstract: A method and system for calibration and compensation of color in a three dimensional display system includes user calibration of individual color channels using a multiplicity of grey screens while viewing with three dimensional glasses. Look-up tables are generated to ease conversion of input pixels to color corrected pixels to pre-distort the color of the pixels being driven by the three dimensional display system. Input pixels are then converted using the look-up tables and color corrected frames are displayed to a user. The pre-distortion effect allows a user to perceive colors in the three dimensional system as intended with the distortions caused by the viewing glasses and other aspects of the three dimensional display system.

Abstract: Hybrid image format techniques are described in which multiple resolution images are concatenated to a standard bitmap image to create a hybrid image file. The hybrid image file is created through combining a relatively low resolution image with the additional images in a multi-frame format having higher resolution. The hybrid image file may contain data detectable to signal that higher resolution images are available in the hybrid image file. A hybrid aware application may be configured to detect and output a higher resolution image from the hybrid image file based on detection of the data. A legacy application that is not configured to detect the data may be unaware of higher resolution images contained in the hybrid image file, and accordingly outputs the relatively low resolution image.
