Abstract: The present invention seeks to provide an eye protection device that can be removably attached to a standard sports helmet. The device is provided with attachment arms that are configured for connection to existing attachment points on standard helmets.

Abstract: A sweatband for use on the hand and wrist is provided. The sweatband provides a surface on the back of a user's hand which may be utilized by a person to wipe sweat or perspiration. Thus, the back of the hand (opisthenar or dorsal surface of the hand) is used when wiping perspiration. The sweatband is constructed such that a first band portion wraps around a user's wrist and a second band portion wraps around the palm and back portion of a user's hand. In one embodiment the sweatband may be constructed of an elongated piece of material that is looped to form the first and second band portions. In one embodiment, a sweatband is interchangeable for use with the left or right hand. In one embodiment the sweatband is reversible.

Abstract: The invention provides an Improved Fielding Glove which eliminates the index finger and middle finger slots. The exterior of the glove reflects these slots, but the interior area provides a single four-finger slot having inner loop for the fingers. All four fingers are placed into this area. The thumb slot of the Improved Fielding Glove includes a wider leather strap for improved gripping. This construction of the Improved Fielding Glove provides the player with better control of the mitt and makes it easier to grab the ball in the deep pocket area.

Abstract: Disclosed is a barbershop/hair salon cut fabric, including: a panel member formed of a fabric or synthetic resin, and defining a wearing hole in a rear end thereof in which a head of a patron is received; and a transparent window member detachably coupled by means of a frame member to the panel member such that a portable terminal is viewable at a front of the wearing hole of the panel member at a center. According to this structure, the transparent window detachably provided on the barbershop/hair salon cut fabric may be used in order to use the portable terminal during a hair dressing process.

The pouch may be integrally formed with the chamois leather band or it may be removably attached to the chamois leather band. The pouch also may have an opening for inserting and removing the ice pack. When the chamois leather band is wrapped around the wrist of the wearer, the pouch may be positioned at a pulse point of the wearer. The sweatband also may include a closure device for securely positioning the chamois leather band on a wrist of a wearer.

Abstract: A stretchable cap having a size controller according to the exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes a crown portion stretchable to at least one direction, a sweat absorbing portion disposed in a lower portion of the crown portion to absorb sweat and stretchable to at least one direction, and a size controller provided for the crown portion adjusting the size of the cap to fit a wearer's head. With such a configuration, the stretchable cap provided with the size controller offers the superior wearing comfort without causing either pressure or looseness to the head of a wearer. The size controller, after being adjusted at a predetermined size, can control the cap to fit the wearer's head as the crown portion and the sweat absorbing portion positioned along the lower edge of the crown are formed to be stretchable.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention relates to an avalanche safety system including an inflatable chamber, activation system, inflation system, and a harness. The inflatable chamber is a three-dimensionally, partially enclosed region having an inflated state and a compressed state. The inflated state may form a particular three dimensional shape configured to protect the user from burial and provide flotation during an avalanche. The activation system is configured to receive a user-triggered action to activate the system. The activation system also includes a reinflation algorithm configured to automatically reactivate the inflation system after a period of time to maintain the inflated state of the inflatable chamber. The inflation system may include an air intake, battery, fan, and internal airway channel. The inflation system is configured to transmit ambient air into the inflatable chamber.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention relates to an avalanche safety system including an inflatable chamber, activation system, inflation system, and a harness. The inflatable chamber is a three-dimensionally, partially enclosed region having an inflated state and a compressed state. The inflated state may form a particular three dimensional shape configured to protect the user from impact and/or provide inverse segregation during an avalanche. The activation system is configured to receive a user-triggered action to activate the system. The inflation system is configured to transmit gas into and out of the inflatable chamber to transition between the inflated state and compressed state. The inflation system may automatically deflate or transmit the gas from the inflatable chamber external of the system. Automatic deflation of the inflatable chamber may be via a valve corresponding to a particular value such as time or three dimensional position of the user.

Abstract: A torso protecting impact dampening aquatic sport vest for use by novice and experienced divers is an apparatus that reduces forces felt by a diver's torso upon impacting the water's surface after a dive. The present invention is lightweight and compact in construction and designed to cover and protect the diver's anterior and posterior areas of their torso without impeding their range of motion. The present invention is of negligible buoyancy relative to water. The garment detachably and adjustably fastens ensuring the best fitment on a particular diver. The present invention contains impact dampening material that does not impede or negatively impact the diver's ability to perform various complex diving maneuvers. The garment comprises an anterior section and a posterior section that are detachably and adjustably coupled by way of a fastener assembly. The anterior and posterior sections each comprise an impact dampening material enclosed within a water resistant layer.

Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to improved water closet flanges and methods for installing such water closet flanges. In one exemplary embodiment, an improved water closet flange apparatus includes an outer flange and a flexible conduit portion (i.e. sleeve) extending downwardly therefrom. The flexible sleeve has a sufficient degree of flexibility to accommodate connection between offset, misaligned, angled, or otherwise incongruous plumbing fixture discharges and waste drain pipe outlets. In one embodiment, the flexible sleeve includes at least one corrugated portion to aid the desired flexibility. An upper portion of the flexible sleeve may include an inwardly extending lip portion to accommodate the desired seal between the plumbing fixture discharge and the flange apparatus. Related methods for installing the disclosed flange apparatus between plumbing fixture discharges and waste drainpipes are also described.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to novel optical sensors and novel methods for sensing optical radiation. The novel optical sensors and the novel optical sensing methods are used, for example, for controlling the operation of automatic faucets and flushers. The novel sensors and flow controllers (including control electronics and valves) require only small amounts of electrical power for sensing users of bathroom facilities, and thus enable battery operation for many years. A passive optical sensor includes a light detector sensitive to ambient (room) light for controlling the operation of automatic faucets or automatic bathroom flushers.

Abstract: A conversion system for converting an installed manually-operated flush valve used with a urinal or toilet is designed for automatic operation. The conversion system includes a power module, a control module, a driver module coupled to the manually-operated flush valve, and an optical sensor constructed to detect light arriving from a detection field. The control module is constructed to control activation of the driver module based on a signal from the optical sensor.

Abstract: An integral toilet and bidet includes a steel frame including a box shaped section and a generally inverted U-shaped upper frame extending upwardly from the rear portion of the box shaped section. A back is extended across the inverted U-shaped upper frame for supporting the back of a patient. A pair of armrest like members extend forwardly from the inverted U-shaped upper frame. One or more tables are connected to the armrest like members. The wheelchair also includes a toilet, a toilet bowl having a relatively small opening in the bottom portion thereof and a bidet disposed in the box shaped section below the first opening. The bidet includes an upwardly directed nozzle for directing water onto a portion of a patient's body and a plurality of downwardly directed nozzles for flushing the toilet.

Abstract: A pool cover for heating swimming pools using sun rays. The pool cover comprises a solar panel provided at an upper surface of the cover facing the sun, a battery connected to the solar panel for receiving and storing the electric current generated by the solar panel, and a heating element provided at the lower surface of the cover for heating the water using the current received from the battery. The pool cover also includes a floater provided at an edge of the cover, the floater being sized and positioned to keep the pool cover afloat when the pool cover is on the water. A layer of heat insulating material may also be provided within the pool cover for preventing heat losses with the ambient air. In another embodiment, the cover may be provided without a battery whereby the solar panel may be directly connected to the heating element.

Abstract: This invention relates to a single pump water circulation system for a swimming pool comprising: a venturi skimmer; a pump with a suction side and a discharge side; a suction drain; a pool return line; at least one pool inlet; fluidically connected to the pool return line; a pump inlet on the suction side having an inlet selector to fluidically connect the pump to: the venturi skimmer, the suction drain, or a combination of the venturi skimmer and the suction drain; a pump outlet on discharge side having an outlet selector to fluidically connect the pump to: the venturi skimmer, the pool return line, or a combination of the venturi skimmer and the pool return line; and wherein the pump is a multispeed pump or a variable speed pump. This invention also relates to a method of circulating water for a swimming pool comprising this circulation system.

A push button lock selectively locks the latching mechanism in the latched position.

The hookless shower liner includes a base, a top portion having a thickness and a projection. The base includes a front surface. The top portion has a generally frusta-circular shape and defines a central cavity and a gap. The central cavity is configured to receive at least a portion of a shower rod therein in an installed configuration. The gap is defined between a butt end of the top portion and a butt portion of one of the base and the top portion. The projection extends generally perpendicularly from the front surface. The projection is configured to support the shower curtain to suspend the shower curtain from the rod.

Abstract: A convertible sofa-bed which is easy to convert between a sofa configuration and a bed configuration is provided. From a sofa configuration, a buttock-foot member may be pulled outward. Simultaneously, a head rest member and back rest member which are initially at a generally vertical position are traversed to a generally horizontal position. When the buttock-foot member is fully traversed outward (i.e., extended position), the head rest member, back rest member and the buttock-foot member are generally substantially coplanar and generally horizontal. This provides a firm bed. From the bed configuration, head rest member and the back rest member may be buckled to allow the buttock-foot member to be pushed inward. The buttock-foot member is then pushed fully inward (i.e., retracted position) until the head rest member and the back rest member are in the generally vertical position with the buttock-foot member and back rest member forming a seat.

As the cushion pad is securely held with the support base of the baby crib, injuries caused by accidental lift of the cushion pad can be prevented.

The bassinet includes an enclosure substantially surrounding an inner space of the bassinet adapted to receive a baby, the enclosure being upwardly opened and having a sidewall provided with a side opening communicating with the inner space, and a movable board disposed at a bottom of the bassinet and adapted to support the weight of the baby placed thereon. The board is operable to slide through the side opening between a first position where the board and the baby placed thereon lie inside the inner space, and a second position where the board extends outward through the side opening so that the board and the baby placed thereon lie substantially outside the inner space.

Abstract: Provided is a folding bed including a cabinet unit and a head part pivotable in relation to the cabinet unit, wherein the head part, in an unused position, is positioned in an approximately vertical orientation in the cabinet unit and in a usage position in an approximately horizontal orientation at least in sections in front of the cabinet unit. The head part can be pivoted from the unused position into the usage position and back. In order to further reduce the space required for the folding bed, the cabinet unit and head part are connected together via a control lever that is held pivotable about a pivot axis on the cabinet unit and a pivot axis on the head part. The control lever is designed such that on movement of the head part from the unused position into the usage position and back, it is pivoted against the cabinet unit.

When in an unloaded state, the perimeter portion of the first side is in contact with the surface and the inner portion of the first side is spaced a first distance away from the surface. When in a loaded state the perimeter portion of the first side is in contact with the surface and the inner portion of the first side is spaced a second distance away from the surface. The second distance is less than the first distance.

Abstract: A backrest of a bed is pivotable with respect to a bed frame. A backrest actuator assembly connects the backrest to the bed frame. The backrest actuator assembly is configured to raise and lower the backrest with respect to the bed frame by way of an actuator. The backrest actuator assembly is further configured with a lockable damper to release the backrest to lower due to gravity over a damped range of motion. The backrest can be so lowered during an emergency, such as an emergency that requires administration of CPR to the bed's occupant. The lockable damper can stop the lowering of the backrest at any position along the damped range of motion. After an emergency lowering, the backrest actuator assembly can automatically reset to a normal operation state.

The device comprises: a base, having hollow platforms that have support legs; a lifting device, below the hollow platforms; a mattress body, disposed on the base and comprising a bed surface, a bed bottom, flexible support units, and gravity sensors, through holes being disposed in the bed bottom and corresponding to the lifting device, the flexible support unit being constructed by a first flexible member female-connected with a second flexible member; and a control device, connected with the lifting device and the gravity sensors, wherein the control device determines that the touching number of the gravity sensors is greater, equal to or less than a preset value and therefore automatically adjusts the hardness of the mattress.
