Abstract: A washing machine capable of optimizing the rinsing time and the amount of rinsing water by using a conductivity sensor, and a method of controlling a rinsing cycle thereof. When the amount of detergent remaining in the rinsing water is determined to be small according to the measured conductivity, the amount of rinsing water and the rinsing time are minimized, that is, the rinsing water is alternately supplied in stages of times, the conductivity of the rinsing water is measured at the stop of the supply of rinsing water, and if the measured conductivity is below a reference value, the rinsing cycle is stopped and enters to a final-spin dry cycle, so that the water and energy is saved and the rinsing is achieved with the optimum algorithm when laundry having a little contamination and a small amount of detergent is input.

Without the blown and/or pressurized air molecules taking up space and colliding with the particles in the center of the outlet tube and because of the strong suction created by the vortex of air rotating along the inner wall of the outlet tube, the efficiency of the vortex pneumatic conveyance apparatus of this application is improved relative to well-known pneumatic conveyors in which air merely pushes the particles within an outlet tube.

Abstract: An assembly comprising a first component joined to a second component by means of an intermediate joint is provided. The first component has a first joining surface arranged coaxially and spaced in a juxtaposition around a second joining surface of the second component, such that a groove is defined between the first and second joining surfaces. The groove comprises an arcuate section formed in that one of the first and second joining surfaces comprises a concave portion and the other of the first and second joining surfaces comprises a convex portion, radially opposite from the concave portion. The intermediate joint is formed by an insert ring, made of a high strength material, pressed into the groove and deformed such that material of the insert ring fills the concave portion and surrounds the convex portion. Consequently, the first and second components are locked relative to each other in both axial directions.

Abstract: The invention relates to adjusting at least one of installed building service sensors (10) of a building service system. A sensor coverage area of at least one sensor (10) is adjusted based on information on a position of the installed sensor (10) relative to at least one other sensor (10). For example, to determine the position of the sensor (10) relative to said at least one other sensor (10), each sensor (10) establishes a wireless communication between said sensor (10) and at least one other sensor (10) via a wireless communication means (34) of the sensor (10). For example, information on the positions of the installed sensors (10) is used to assign to each sensor (10) at least one of installed building service supply devices (12) of the system.
