Abstract: A bridge deck suspended from a support beam where the deck describes a laterally curved shape, for example an arch having an apex between two deck ends. The support beam describes a laterally curved shape similar to that of the deck, for example an arch having an apex and two ends opposite to the apex that are secured in a base (foundation) in the ground. The support beam is generally inclined from the support's base foundations to the apex at an angle sufficient to position the support above the deck. The support's relative position, dimensions and shape are such that the majority of the supporting beam is above and approximately horizontally aligned with corresponding points of the deck, thereby allowing suspension cables to extend near vertically between attachment points on the support beam and corresponding attachment points on the aligned portions of the deck.

Abstract: The present invention provides a shaft assembly comprising a first shaft and a second shaft. The first shaft has a plurality of first splines that each have an end portion and a chamfer disposed on the end portion. The second shaft is coaxial with the first shaft and has a plurality of second splines. The plurality of second splines each have a base portion and an end portion. The end portion defines an inverted chamfer having a base and a tip. The tip projects from the base radially away from the second shaft and axially away from the base portion of the plurality of second splines. The base of the inverted chamfer undercuts the tip of the inverted chamfer. The plurality of first splines engage with the plurality of second splines to couple the first shaft and the second shaft for common rotation.

Abstract: A generator assembly apparatus is provided for merging a first annular component and a second annular component of a generator. The generator assembly apparatus includes first and second component support frames, a moving device and an adjustment device. The first component support frame supports the first component securely mounted to the first component support frame. The second component support frame supports the second component securely mounted to the second component support frame. The moving device moves one component support frame relative to the other component support frame to merge the components by inserting one component at least partially into an interior region of the other component. The adjustment device adjusts a position of a support frame such that a pre-defined separation between the first component and the second component is maintained during merging.

Abstract: The invention concerns a method which consists in producing by radial expansion of the walls of two tubular parts (1, 2) engaged into each other substantially without play, in at least two zones of the parts spaced from each other in the axial direction of the parts (1, 2) two small protuberances (4) projecting radially outwards of the parts (1, 2) separated from each other, along the circumference of the parts (1, 2), by portions of the intermediate walls (5) of the parts. The small protuberances (4) are simultaneously produced in two zones spaced in the axial direction of the tubular parts (1, 2), using a tool comprising an expander with flexible blades on each of which are arranged two bosses spaced from each other in the expander axial direction. The invention is particularly useful for fixing an end sleeve (1) on a guide tube (2) of a fuel assembly.
