In this manner, non-ratcheting initial rotation of the pawl due to counter-rotation prior to the pawl camming out of engagement with the ratchet gear is eliminated, thus eliminating wasted motion and maximizing the available angular sweep for the wrench.

Abstract: A protection CMTS is available to immediately service a cable modem should that modem's service from a working CMTS fail for any reason. To speed the service transfer (cutover) from the working CMTS to the protection CMTS, the cable modem may preregister with the protection CMTS well before the cutover becomes necessary. The cable modem's registration with both the working CMTS and the protection CMTS preferably employs a single IP address, so that the cable modem need not obtain a new IP address during cutover. While the cable modem may register with both the working CMTS and the protection CMTS, the devices are designed or configured so that only the working CMTS injects a host route for the cable modem into the appropriate routing protocol. Only after cutover to the protection CMTS does the protection CMTS inject its host route.

Abstract: Obtaining channel quality information in a wireless communication network is described. A base station allocates a resource to remote stations in order to receive channel quality information back from remote stations. The resource allocated to a remote station contains no higher layer data. A scheduler in the base station uses the channel quality information in order to schedule remote stations and/or to decide on the channel coding and/or modulation to be applied to the data transmission. A mechanism is provided to ensure that data transmitted on HS-DSCH is not transmitted to higher layers. This may provide a convenient method of obtaining channel quality information allowing for improved scheduling and thus improved performance of the communication system.

Abstract: A multi-fiber connector module for optical communications is provided that receives collimated beams of light from a transceiver module and focuses the collimated beams to respective focal points that coincide with the ends of respective transmit fibers. Because the inputs to the connector module are collimated light beams, movements of one or more parts of the connector and/or transceiver module will not result in optical losses as long as the movements are not so great as to prevent the collimated light beams from falling fully on the lenses of the optics system of the connector module. The lenses then focus the collimated light beams onto the ends of the transmit fibers.

A record of those relevant items and/or people may then be associated with that created content, so that the content includes a record of who/what was there when the content was created.

Abstract: Apparatus, and an associated method, for providing transmit diversity to an open-loop MIMO communication scheme, such as a point to multipoint broadcast service in a cellular system. Multiple data streams of the broadcast data are broadcast by way of transmit diversity antennas of a sending station. The data symbols of the separate data streams are phase-shifted to be offset in phase from one another. The data streams, once the data symbols thereof are selectably phase-shifted by a phase shifter, are applied by an applier to sending nodes of the respective cells.

Abstract: An impedance spectroscopy system for monitoring ischemic mucosal damage in hollow viscous organs comprises a sensor catheter and an impedance spectrometer for electrically driving the catheter to obtain a complex tissue impedance spectrum. Once the catheter is in place in one of a patient's hollow viscous organs, the impedance spectrometer obtains the complex impedance spectrum by causing two electrodes in the tip of the catheter to inject a current into the mucosal tissue at different frequencies, while two other electrodes measure the resulting voltages. A pattern recognition system is then used to analyze the complex impedance spectrum and to quantify the severity of the mucosal injury. Alternatively, the complex impedance spectrum can be appropriately plotted against the spectrum of normal tissue, allowing for a visual comparison by trained personnel.

If the user is authenticated, then the payment authority will send a transaction code back to the user, which will be displayed on the user's mobile communication device. The user can then provide the transaction code to the merchant. The merchant can enter the transaction code into the Merchant's point of sale system and complete the transaction.

At the conclusion of said telephonic communication, said system invites the referee to state the name of the first individual; by comparing the voice sample with a stored voice sample, the apparatus then provides identity confirmation to said relying party.

The latching device is designed to latch the toilet lid in an open position based on the weight of a person acting on a toilet seat. The flushing control unit is further designed to control the flushing operation based on the toilet lid position, and to block the flushing operation upon detection of the toilet lid in the open position. This makes it possible to improve both the comfort and hygienic conditions for the toilet user while using the vacuum toilet.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for assembly of a non-planar device based on curved chips are described. Slots may be created as longitudinal openings in the chips to reduce bending stresses to increase allowable degrees of deformation of the chips. The chips may be deformed to a desired deformation within the allowable degrees of deformation via the slots. Holding constraints may be provided on at least a portion of the chips to allow the chips to remain curved according the desired deformation.
