Publication number: 20140001057Abstract: In the invention, a back titration and titer determination can be made using a back coulometric titration. When the iodine exists in a solution put in the titration flask with electrolytic electrodes, a back coulometric titration is performed to produce iodine ions from the iodine at the anode of the electrolytic electrodes. Where the solution is a dehydrated solvent including a Karl Fischer reagent for a volumetric titration, the titer can be determined by the back coulometric titration. Where the solution is anolyte in which the iodine remains after the coulometric titration in the coulometric titration method, the water content in the sample is found from the quantity of electricity consumed by the coulometric titration and the quantity of electricity consumed by the back coulometric titration.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 14, 2012Publication date: January 2, 2014Applicant: KYOTO ELECTRONICS MANUFACTURING CO., LTD.Inventors: Ikumi Kurose, Masaaki Ishikura

Publication number: 20140001095Abstract: A gas-liquid catalyzed reaction is performed by introducing at least a portion of the reactive gas into the catalyst as a cross-flow or radial-flow stream. Introducing at least a portion of the reactive gas as a radial flow stream allows the reactive gas to travel through the catalyst bed along a shorter path length. This reduces the pressure drop for the radial flow portion of the gas. The reactive gas can be introduced into the catalyst bed at various heights relative to the height of the catalyst bed.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 25, 2013Publication date: January 2, 2014Inventor: Hans G. Publication number: 20140001096Abstract: A process and apparatus described is for distributing hydrocarbon feed to catalyst in a riser. Hydrocarbon feed is delivered to a plenum in the riser. Nozzles from the plenum inject feed into the riser to contact the catalyst. Streams of regenerated catalyst and carbonized catalyst may be passed to the riser and mixed around an insert in a lower section of a riser. The plenum may be located in the riser.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 27, 2012Publication date: January 2, 2014Applicant: UOP LLCInventors: Roger L. Publication number: 20140001098Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a device for enclosed recycling of oil-water-sludge in an oil shale dry distillation system. According to the method, the technology is advanced, equipment investment costs are low, the occupied area is small, the failure rate is low, a highly pure shale oil product and a highly concentrated oil sludge product can be obtained efficiently, and the waste water generated in the purification and concentration processes can be recycled, thereby achieving full enclosure of the device system, greatly reducing the energy consumption, and improving the oil shale dry distillation process in the prior art.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 13, 2011Publication date: January 2, 2014Applicant: Shanghai Huachang Environmental Protection Co., Ltd.Inventors: Mingfu Bao, Hualin Wang, Dasong Xing, Jiangang Wang, Da Zhao, Xin Cui, Rongpu Zhang, Yuan Huang, Ling Shen, Qiang Yang, Yi Fan

Publication number: 20140001099Abstract: A process for removing a sulfur compound from a low nitrogen content vacuum gas oil feed includes contacting the low nitrogen content vacuum gas oil feed comprising the sulfur compound with a VGO-immiscible phosphonium ionic liquid to produce a vacuum gas oil and VGO-immiscible phosphonium ionic liquid mixture, and separating the mixture to produce a vacuum gas oil effluent having a reduced sulfur compound content relative to the vacuum gas oil feed. It was found that the amount of the sulfur compound being removed was significantly improved by treating a low nitrogen content vacuum gas oil. The low nitrogen content and especially a low level of polar nitrogen compounds increases the amount of sulfur compounds that can be removed.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 22, 2013Publication date: January 2, 2014Applicant: UOP LLCInventors: Beckay J.
